Chelsey's

Here is hoping Chelsey's is successful! I personally was a lover of Somewhere Saloon (which occupied this spot a couple years ago and to be honest was a total dive). Then, when they went under during the pandemic The River Street Restaurant was open by another local restauranteur and we all had high hopes - but after fixing up the building (it really needed it), they faltered. Followed by the short lived BBQ place (yeah it has been a ride for this location). So when Chelsey's moved in we were quick to give it a try to support them! The building is an odd one with really two sides to it (and a patio). Walk into the bar area with seating and then in the back there is more seating and I believe pool and darts. They really have freshened up the place. Parking seems tight as everyone parks out front, but there is more in the back. We popped in here one Friday afternoon for a quick beer and to try the wings. Sat right down and got a waitress quickly, but our waitress "had no idea what was on tap". Yikes. She said a it was "a lot of stuff". Wow, ok. So I asked for a list and she said there wasn't one. Started off pretty rocky. She was able to rattle off 3 beers (1 of which they didn't actually have - LOL!). Anyways, ordered a couple of Modelos and some hot wings. Wings were awesome! No breading (which I prefer) and the sauce was a classic buffalo hot wing. Crisp with the right amount of heat. Plus they have a variety of flavors and the burgers looked good. We will be back! I hope by then they will get drink menus or educate the staff, but other that weirdness ordering it was a good experience! Happy to have wing spot so close!!

They serve good hamburgers and wings. The staff is friendly and effecient. Good for dine-in and take out.

Great food, friendly service, family friendly, great prices. Great to have a new restaurant in Canon City. Try it!There is plenty of parking in the back of the front looks full.

A great find when you're hankering for a well made savory burger on a soft delicious bun, with fresh crisp lettuce & onions. A simple setting in the main dining room but turn the corner & a cool pool hall & bar is available for a bigger experience when venturing out for a bite or a night out.

Visit started well, but ended on a wha-wha. Husband and I thought we'd give Chelsey's a try. Sat ourselves, a very nice lady came right up, got our drinks, took our order, then we never saw her again.After an hour, another server was telling people coming in it was an hour wait for food. If someone had told us that when we had initially entered, we would've found somewhere else to eat. Husband's drink had been empty for 45 minutes at this point and no one had checked on us awkwardly sitting in the corner.Ended up waiting AN HOUR AND A HALF for a burger and some friend food. Food was mediocre at best. Mine was over cooked and the Husband said his burger tasted like a Big Boy. Portions felt smallish. Probably would've been less expensive, better service, and same quality of food if we'd have gone to a Frisch's. Also probably wouldn't have taken 2 hours 'round trip. -_-

We really had high hopes for Chelsey's. When they opened, and for 6 months, their burgers were hot, super juicy, and cooked just a little over medium. A perfect burger. Seriously. Twice now, we've ordered burgers and they were dried out, over cooked thin nasty pucks. I mean come on!! Do they not think we can tell that they've been sitting in a pan on the grill, or in the steam table??? The buns and toppings were good. Lots of jalapeños. Nice lettuce, Mayo and tomatoes. But good lord. The burger. The way I see it, they draw people in, spend some money on good meat and techniques, then once they think they've got a decent following, they get cheap. It's really too bad. It seems as though, based on the 4 & 5 star reviews that I'm seeing here, that there are patrons that are happy. If paying $17 for a dried out hockey puck of a burger is your thing, then enjoy it. The burgers they were selling when they first opened were EXCELLENT. Now? Not so much, at all.

The burgers are really good! Make sure to specify the burger deal when ordering if that's what you're going for. The cheeseburger n beer deal is hard to beat and a great place to chill after a day of rafting or tubing. Two thumbs up!!

Have had lunch and take out here a few times. Menu is typical of bar food. Could use a few mexican offerings. French fries are the real deal but limp when served. I prefer them fresh, crispy, golden and hot. Here's my real gripe however. I ordered the rocky mtn oysters. I should have known better. I was disappointed to find they weren't prepared properly. I was served five for $14.00 and two pieces still had the tough skin muscle intact (should be removed before slicing in oval pieces about 1/4 inch thick). I left them in the basket and asked the waitress to remove a few bucks from the price. She checked with management who refused stating I "ate most of the food". I had to take a bite from both oysters or I wouldn't have known they were tough and couldn't be eaten. So.....long story short. There are better places around town to get bar food and if I want oysters I'll go to 4 Kings in Westcliffe.

Watch out for that one server who's a short change artist. Count your cash change twice

BEST Burgers in Cañon City CO staff GREAT!!! Where can u get a Burger home made fries and a drink pop or beer for $10! better than burger world or chilles gotta try!!!!
