Casa Sanchez was a letdown for me. After a long day of hiking and soaking in the hot springs, we were hoping for a satisfying meal, but it didn't hit the spot. I had the pastor tacos, which were overly fatty and lacked flavor. My boyfriend's fajitas were also disappointing as the chicken was very dry, and the seasoning just wasn't there.That said, the rice and beans were decent, and the sopapillas were amazing... probably the best we've ever had and the highlight of the meal. The service was friendly, but overall, I wouldn't recommend this spot unless you're just stopping in for dessert.

Wow, finally, legit Mexican food in Colorado. I wasn't certain I was going to find any. The table service started off strong, but petered-out half way through the meal. The waiter became distracted by rolling silverware in napkins and he took his eyes off several of his tables that needed refills. Not good! It's a pet peeve of mine to have to ask for a refill. That's fundamental table service. (-1 star)The food is outstanding! It's spicy and balanced, not greasy. Absolutely no complaints. The chips and salsa are a bit unusual. The chips are thick and crisp and held up nicely to the salsa. The table service came with two salsas. One salsa was green chiles salsa, and it had a serious kick. The other was a custom effort, with lots of ingredients. I'm not sure I liked it. I ordered a combination plate with a crispy beef taco, a beef enchilada, and a chili Relleno. I think the taco was one of the best I've ever had. The shell was obviously homemade. It was thick and crunchy and held together even after being loaded. Now, you know the leftover salad toppings from the taco, the stuff that usually gets pushed aside? I added the green chiles salsa on top and made an exceptional little side salad. Try it, it's freaky good. The ambiance is a tired old house that has been converted into a restaurant. It's not for everyone I'm certain. But, the lack of pretense is refreshing. Overall, exceptional Mexican food! I recommend this restaurant.

This was a nicely priced meal on our way back from Leadville. The staff was awesome and the space was comfortable. Got the steak copper fajitas and they were good! I'm still kicking myself for accidentally forgetting my leftovers at the table!

We are back. Always. Love this place. We might now just be coming back to Buena Vista for this food now. Just kidding, the views are amazing. But no joke, the food is so good and the portion sizes generous. The margaritas are delicious. The servers are ridiculously friendly. Just come, trust me. You will not be sorry.

Came here for dinner after a dip at Mount Princeton and really enjoyed our experience. Great spot for some traditional delicious Mexican food. Portions are large and incredibly filling. Service was fast and friendly. Nothing exceptional but nothing problematic either. Easy to get a seat and was definitely busy so it seems to be popular with the locals.

Came here last year when we visited Buena Vista, and remembered the food being good so we stopped by again for lunch after a nice hike. The portion sizes are huge, and the food was tasty and very filling. Carnitas were a little dry and the margaritas a little sweet, but they gave us a tequila shot on the side and that was fun. The server brought drinks quickly and was on top of refilling our glasses. He did put a sizzling plate of fajitas right in front of my toddler but we were paying attention so we were able to move it out of the way. All in all, satisfying meal. I only wish they had outdoor seating! (Oh- according to another reviewer, apparently they do in the back? Will have to try that out next time!

I've been a few times and just didn't love it either time. The food is filled with rice and fillers, not terribly flavorful and the service is just meh - even for a mountain town. There are better options just a few blocks away IMHO
