Beautiful. Quiet. Great breakfast!! I was there in October of 2009. Would definitely go back! If I didn't have a lot going on around Savannah,I would spend some time writing my book there. It's beautiful in Cripple Creek in the fall. A little cool. Only one or two other guests per night. Met some very interesting people. The staff was wonderful!! I've been traveling to other places is the only reason I haven't been back to stay. It was very clean. And I'm very, very picky about cleanliness.

It's charming and comfortable. We opted out of breakfast the first day as it was a "drunken mushroom" dish and it was very aromatic the second we stepped out of our room. We were approached 3 times about it and they tried to send us on a guilt trip. It made us feel weird. We were asked what we like for breakfast and told them we don't usually eat breakfast but indulge in pancakes when we do. We were told the manager doesn't do sweet. He only likes eggs. Breakfast the next morning was awkward as he hovered while we got coffee. We literally had to excuse ourselves to get around him to our table. He brought us fruit and told me I wasn't eating it the way it was staged. I was confused and it made me ill at ease. That was the end of breakfast for me. I didn't want anything more. Good coffee though. It's a cute school house turned into a B&B. The managers should let folks relax a bit more on their trip and not worry about the details.

Wonderful hosts, tastefully decorated and comfortable room, delicious breakfast. While larger than the typical B&B (14 rooms), it managed to still be homey and comfortable. Coffee, cookies and soda was available around the clock. Doug and Kathy were excellent hosts. Charming and gracious, making us feel right at home. Their rates are reasonable what you're getting. This is probably the nicest place in Cripple Creek.

Room was gorgeous with fantastic views. Wanting to be close to the casinos but not on the strip, the Carr was a superior choice and staff was amazingly nice and helpful. Loved our stay here.

My husband and I were displaced from our home for about a week during the High Chateau wildfire in our subdivision with nothing but what we had on. This was the weekend of the 4th of July holiday and there were virtually no vacancies anywhere. Denise was able to book us for two nights and she and Jesse took such good care of us during our stay. She made us a beautiful (and, I say this, because the presentation made it "too pretty to eat") and delicious breakfast. Denise even gave me some clothing of hers to wear. Amazing hotel and amenities...we will definitely stay here again in the future. Denise and Jesse are great hosts!

The Carr Manor went above and beyond our expectations of a hotel or bed & breakfast. The staff was very hospitable and the hotel itself is clean, historic, and close to all of the action that Cripple Creek has to offer. They offer an amazing breakfast every morning and our room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The next time we return to the area we will without a doubt stay at Carr Manor.

We were referred to this B & B from family that stayed here before and went to school here as well. I wish I could give it five stars but I cannot. They charge quite a lot for one night and only give you a continental breakfast during extremely limited hours. Also during our breakfast the staff hovered while we were trying to eat. After our visit we received an email from the owner asking for suggestions. We suggested he serve a hot breakfast. We received his response stating others enjoy their continental breakfast and if we really want a hot breakfast we should come back on a weekend. Bottom line: we won't be back.

My wife and I spent time at The Carr in Aug. 2011. Our stay was one of our most pleasant and interesting experiences. The Carr Manor was the original area high school built in the 1800 hundreds and has been restored to include all the comforts that anyone could want. The rooms are as unique as they are comfortable. Each suite has a period theme and the entire building is a museum with numerous things to enjoy. The host and hostess were exceptional in making our stay one of the best we have experienced. A stay at the Carr should be a must for anyone!
