"I had a good experience getting my ear lobes pierced (pretty basic). One guy checked me in and another pierced my ears with a sterile kit, he also wore gloves and did everything a normal, clean piercer should do so no issues. He took the time to mark my ears, check for accuracy, have me look too, etc before piercing which i appreciated. I've read so many bad reviews of tattoo/piercing places in the Springs so I was a little concerned...no need, it was clean and went fine. On a pain scale, it's ear lobes so not exactly major! I'd go back to the same guy for another piercing if I want one down the road. It's a day later and my ears aren't even a bit sore, it's like nothing happened."

I had an appointment with Tye Youmans and I chose him because of his ability to provide realism with abstract and vibrant color!!!Not only did Tye execute my vision beyond my imagination, it was a COVER UP! A lot of artists refuse to touch or cover someone else's work, but when I reached out to Tye about a different tattoo during the consultation we both agreed that his work next to my current tattoo would make it look even more ugly than it already was. I wasn't for what I found, but I'm so glad I started following Self Made Tattoo Colorado two years ago and Tye moved back 6 months ago. I'm glad I was finally able to sit in sit in his chair. I also was able to get squeezed in by the life of the party piercer Mike! I got the 3rd piercing to complete a triple lobe and an orbitalin my left ear. Mike was able to get me in and out within 7 minutes! I'm so glad I found a tattoo artist who not only delivered beyond expectations, but was extremely transparent and wanted the art to speak for itself. "Sooooo...I've had many tattoos good and never bad...The tattoo I received from here is HORRIBLE AND UGLY. It is the most simple dime store tattoo of a simple heart... I have over 17 tattoos and have never had to have a touch up but with this one she was so light handed that half the tattoo is missing. I paid her $100 for a $20 dollar five minute tattoo. I went back about 2 weeks later and asked if she could touch this up because it looks awful she tells me she has no time because she needs to go vote and pay her rent... well ok then I will make a appointment..then she had no availability because she was going on a holiday for 2 weeks... so then she tells me she doesn't do tattoos on hands palms or inside of fingers??!?after she took my money and already tattooed my hand! when I ask for a touch up she got extremely frustrated and told me to fix it with a sharpie.. WHAT!??! Thank goodness I got a tiny tattoo from her. I wouldn't want a large piece of art that needs touched up with her attitude and not being willing to fix things.. not a good personality and a rude energy when I went back.. I think she is a very new tattoo artist... I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!! ... 0 out of 5 stars..."

"I found Moises Esposito because my cousin, who moved here a year ago, got a tattoo of a quote on her spine, which not only looked incredible but healed so well and was so delicate. I planned to get my collarbone tattooed and didn't want anyone who didn't have impeccable line work. So when I planned a trip to Colorado Springs I wanted to get him to tattoo me. Especially with the fact that with COVID it's been incredibly hard to find a tattoo artist whose books are open and they're good! He quoted me for our tattoos for my collarbone, two arm tattoos, my Viking Inguz and my cousin's Unalome and semi colon. They were all smaller tattoos but they were easy tattoos and an artist needs to be paid for their time! Also, being from Portland, his rates were absolutely fair. He also quoted me about $100 more than he charged me which was a bonus. He's super nice and friendly, which I never expect from an artist as most are quiet and reserved. He high fived me and said I did great after. Which I've never gotten (though I have loads of tattoos and lots of big ones I wuss out EVERY time I get new ink!) from any other artist. So thanks for your patience and kindness. You made is ridiculously easy to communicate via your Instagram and to make sure we were set for our appointment. We showed up and Moises got to work on designing my star and sun, originally I was going to have him copy another artist's designs but he is so good I wanted a stamp of his authentic work on my tattoos. I LOVE the sun and star he drew out. They're unique to anything else I have. My favorite thing about him was that he has a super light touch. I was NERVOUS AF about having my collarbone tattooed and it was pretty unremarkable as far as pain went. I'm not gonna lie my new sun hurt quite bad close to my elbow but it was small and easy. His style is so simple and beautiful. I really love all of my tattoos so much from today. If you're a tattoo virgin, I feel like he'd be perfect for you, since he has such a light touch. If you're a vet, go see him for those difficult tattoos because I bet they won't hurt AS much. I'll update after a few days for healing but as far as right now I'm totally in love. I'll also be back if my cousin is still living in CO next year!"

Each artist's station is totally personalized and you get a good feel for their different styles.I had a decent idea of what I wanted, but Joel really tied it all together. I literally only showed him a few photos that were very different, and he proceeded to completely freehand my entire tattoo (see photos). It was meaningful to me and he made certain to include each different element. Along the way, he also paused so I could check the progress and he constantly made sure I wasn't too uncomfortable (I wasn't, I was a champ LOL). It turned out better than I imagined, and ai am blown away it was freehanded!There were multiple other people getting work done while I was there, and most of them were repeat clients. It's obvious from the conversations I heard that the artists put a lot into their client relationships and don't view them as just customers. To address the couple of negative reviews - I actually asked Joel about them and he explained the situation to me. If you are on the fence whatsoever about coming in, don't be! These guys are transparent, continue their training and education constantly, and are incredible artists. I'll be back for #2 soon!"
