"The Sheridan library is a good small town library that has recently been remodeled to reflect a more modern and up to date look and feel. I like to go here since it open on the weekends when other libraries are closed. The parking lot is usually not full and the staff are friendly and helpful. Good asset for the residents of this community."
"Koelbel Library recently reopened for visiting and so my daughter and I checked it out! I had reserved books for her online and it's super easy to schedule a park and pickup appointment, but we decided to venture inside instead. Upon walking inside, they check you in and take your phone number for contact tracing purposes. After that, we headed towards the children's section and had such a fun time browsing their super large selection. All the staff was very helpful in answering my questions. I became a library member amid quarantine online but hadn't picked up my physical card yet. Someone helped me with that and said I can now check out up to 100(!) books. Amazing! If you haven't been to your local library lately, you're really missing out. I'm looking forward to when it's even more open and we can attend activities and play. For now, I'm thankful for their wide array of entertainment for kids and adults alike!"
"One of the best libraries I have come across! Great service, spacious, comfy chairs and a place to study near big windows to a beautiful view, accommodating for students and families. Free internet (you have to click accept on the pop-up screen), and it is 10c for black and white and 25c for color to print (just ask the front desk for your documents after you print at one of their computers). They have an excellent selection of books, some for sale downstairs, the atmosphere is geared toward family/kids, and everything about this library is clean and well-organized. It was a great place to study!"
"I ventured into the library today for something other then voting. This location also serves as an election polling place. They were just getting ready to close so I was just there long enough to get a library card and an explanation about their online services. I will be visiting again in the near future since it's close to home and one of my new missions to get back to things I used to enjoy. It was busy and has ample space for browsing, reading and searching through the many shelves lined with books as well as absorbing that "old book smell""
"Awesome library---not too crowded and never have an issue with parking (plus it's near Sprouts, King Soopers and Starbucks so I can do everything in one stop!). They make it really easy to navigate through, have new cd's and books and the hold process is simple (you can hold it online and get a text when it's available). And people are decent here because they keep it quiet, like a library should be, without misbehaved children running wild and homeless not bathing in the bathroom sink. My only gripe is from the lazy girl in me--they don't have a drive through book drop, you actually have to get out of your car (the horror!) Also, the British dude working the front desk could be a little more personable but oh well, what can you do,those two negatives wont keep me from coming here."
"This building is quite beautiful. I had heard about this library and I was in Old Colorado City with my bestie, so we walked in to check it out! First, this is one of three Carnegie libraries here in the Springs. Carnegie was a philanthropist and one of the things he built were libraries. His foundation would allow cities to apply for grants and agree to certain requirements and made sure they would remain public. Supposedly, he was inspired by the reading rooms that women were organizing throughout the country. The collection of books are only on the main floor of the building, but this library (like with most libraries in the Springs) is part of the Pikes Peak Library District so you can order, borrow, and drop off books at any of the locations within the system. This library will celebrate 120 years this Saturday on Dec 7, 2024. They will be offering a swap out of your library card with a limited edition card if you drop in on Saturday. Never stop exploring!"
"I have always enjoyed this library. It's a smaller library but it's laid out really well. Getting a library card is really easy and worth the nominal effort to get one. This library does a really good job interfacing with the local community. Especially when it comes to children and children's reading events. Computer access is easy and I've never had a problem getting on a computer when I've needed to. The staff is extremely pleasant and the building is very clean. I used to do to the downtown library but that library had developed a severe homeless problem and they continually find needles and other trash in the bathrooms. I avoid downtown in general now. This library has none of those problems and is clean and quiet. It's on a decent neighborhood and there is alway safe and readily available parking right next to the building. This is my library of choice in SW Denver"
"This has been the smallest library I've been to in the Colorado Springs area so far - I'm not sure if it's actually smaller than the Monument location, but the amount of materials available must be smaller at this location. There's a community room that's pretty sizeable, which likely takes up a lot of the area that books would be stored, but it was actively being used as I was here today. Also, this location has been the least populated of all the locations I've been to (which I tend to visit at the same day/time, so it feels like a fair comparison), although the adult side had the most people reading and using computers, with nobody at all in the kids or teens areas while I was here. This location still has a decent sized kids play area (though there aren't a lot of play items, but they're all great quality and in good condition), and the different areas are better separated than Monument as well, so it didn't feel like my kiddo was being too loud while we were playing. I have yet to experience anybody working at a location treating us in a less Tham welcoming way as well - and that was no exception with us today!"
"This is an unexpected gem. Didn't even know there was a library here until the Summer Reading Program took me and the kids here. Surprisingly large, very clean, great selection, kids' toys and activities, and really nice people. Did I mention there's a green screen area? How fun is that?"
"I love the library. I had a book on hold and was notified that it had come in. Went to pick it up and browsed a little. Enchanted by the different themed Christmas trees. Such thought and detail went into the decorations. Wandered around checking them all out. Have some inspiration for next year for my own tree."
"I love this library. It's super close to my house, just up the street by about 5 minutes. The staff are always so incredibly nice, helpful, and professional. The library itself is very clean, neat, and orderly. It's always super chill and quiet when I go - as it should be, because it's a library, right? I only have one issue and it's the way the books are organized. It's by author last name, in alphabetical order. Now, I don't know what authors I like off the top of my head, but I know what genres of books I like. It'd be much easier to go in and head straight for the supernatural or fantasy or history section, and then browse the books. That's how most book stores do it, and it works well. I hate going up and down the aisle, picking up random books and trying to figure out if it's in the genre of books I like. It'd be much more simple to just organize by genre. With that said, it's just a personal preference and the library itself is awesome, as is the staff."

Umm Awesome! My son got a free Batbuddha 3-d printed here. How cool is that! Bring in your own STL file and they will make you one too! We ordered some obscure music and it showed up within days. Places like this make me want to actually pay taxes.

I work from home and needed a change of scenery, so I decided to try out this library. Now, it's been a while since I've been to a library, I and don't have any outstanding or positive experiences to speak of...but I was genuinely surprised at how warm and welcoming it felt as soon as I walked in. While I needed to get to work, I still took time to walk around and get acquainted. On the top floor is the cafe to your right as you walk in. I didn't grab anything but it all looked quite good and not like some afterthought. Both tables and high-tops to sit at, plenty of light. Across the stacks are comfortable chairs facing beautiful, nearly floor to ceiling windows. Downstairs, you'll find computers, conference rooms, study rooms and both tables and quiet nooks for reading, studying or working. This is where I spent my afternoon and got a ton of work done. No noise issues either, even when a large meeting let out. Everyone was quiet and respectful. The most pleasant surprise was how modern this library is compared to others I've used. Every seating area is not far from a plug for your laptop and there's an abundance of USB plugs available as well. Even the wifi connection was steady. Maybe this is all standard these days, but I wasn't expecting to have such an easy time setting up shop. I'm yet to explore and take out books, since I forgot my wallet and didn't have any identification to get a card. However, there seems to be a good variety without being overwhelming. Very efficient, which I appreciate. I'll be back soon!

We absolutely love this library. There's a great selection in each section, with incredibly knowledgeable and helpful staff to assist with whatever you're looking for. The circulation, reference and children's desk staff are always phenomenal. This branch is beautifully appointed and conveniently located in town. What sets it apart, though, is the wealth of additional activities and services available to all patrons. Our kids really love the summer reading program, movie nights and guest author/lecturers. The teen room is a fantastic place for them to relax and read, or do some gaming with friends. My youngest also loves the children's area, with cozy seating and whimsical features like the tepee to hang out with a good book. The Lego room is a blast, and allows them to be creative in a safe space with their friends. The online resources are amazing, as well. We've recently discovered Rocket Languages, a free online foreign language primer provided by the library district- it's amazing. It cannot be overstated how wonderful it is to have such a fantastic library in our town- we appreciate everything they do and look forward to each new adventure.

I am trying to check out all the libraries in the Denver area. This one is a bit older compared to the other ones in the area. Not as many events and kids playing at this library as others so this may be actually a good thing depending on who you are. I do feel like this library does have a faster turn around for book holds. This library may not come with all the bells and whistles but the staff here are nice. They will help you with anything you need.

I'm lucky enough to have just moved to a place where I can walk to this library in 5 minutes. Why? It's an absolute beaut, and as silly as it sounds, it's got me to go back to the library over and over for the first time in years. You'll always find a parking spot, and there's a drive up drop slot if you just need to pass through. The inside is very well laid out, with everything clearly labeled, plus computers with internet for public use, study tables, and if memory serves, even some study rooms. They have not only books, but DVDs, magazines, comics/graphic novels, even CDs! I was able to rent some Mystery Science Theater 3000, which I was very stoked about. The selection is huge, and varied.I can't speak to the staff as I've never interacted with them, but they seem like very helpful, friendly people from interactions I've observed. Why have I not interacted with them? Because of the spiffy library version of the grocery store self check out-scan your card, put your stuff on this square one at a time, and you're done!Job well done, Denver Public LIbrary. Thank you for making me love the library again!

I love the Old Colorado City library because it's such a cute location in the staff are very helpful. It's right across from the park so I'm usually running multiple errands at once and only have to park in one spot. They do have their own parking lot as well which is super convenient especially if you're just doing a quick book drop off. I just saw that they are expanding their hours as well, and they are open till 7 PM most evenings to make it more accessible for those that work until 5 PM.

This is a nice little library on the southwest side of Denver near the city of Sheridan and the Bear Creek park and trail. Its a 2 story building with the main study and reading section on the upper level. At the time of my visit the parking lot was not crowded and the homeless people inside were peaceful and quiet, mainly just looking somewhere to get out of the mid day summer heat. An interesting point of this location was the free snacks by the front door and not just any snacks but healthy snacks such as veggies and yogurt. Good place to come to read, do homework or catch up on business.

Do librarians even try to keep people quiet anymore? I guess we have to live with the school being close to this library and kids just hanging out at the library being noisy, but tonight there must have been an adult meeting scheduled and the adults were incredibly loud. What's the deal?

"Came here to the Aspen Room for a group meeting today. The room was clean, easy to find, and spacious. Parking on the top floor was free. The library itself was updated but filled with vagrants being loud. This should probably be addressed, as I wouldn't want my kids there without supervision. All in all it was a good visit and I will return. I saw dvds as well as printed media, and staff was visible throughout. It was worth mentioning that there were armed guards walking around. Seemed a little odd, but I wasn't hanging out too long in the main area, as I was there for a meeting, and that's it."
"I've been to a lot of libraries and this has to be one of the biggest ones I've been too. It also has a soft, homey feel to it. The interior is decorated more like a house and not a governmental building. The lower floor has meeting rooms, private study rooms, a coffee shop and I believe the children's area. The upper level has computers, quite study tables and a balcony. I'll be coming here more often."
"I very much enjoy visiting this Library when I'm in the area. It's very RARELY busy. The Parker Library has a little bit more foot traffic it seems. Here at the Aurora Library, there's plenty of parking in the lot. Signing up for a card was quick and easy. All I had to do was show my CO ID and a piece of mail with my name and current address to show that I was from Colorado. When visiting for the 1st time it may seem closed or under construction because of all the chain link fences. This is simply not so. The fences are there for the Police station sharing the other side of the building. Speaking of Fences , it's a beautifully written piece by August Wilson. One of my favorite authors. The history on how he wrote was so interesting to me when I was in College and took African American Literature studies. I recommend that title. The Library attendants are very helpful and will guide you to any section you might be looking for and they are very knowledgeable. I enjoyed that they were engaging and not passive. They have movies to check out too , some DVDs some BluRays. They have current titles which is great. They have music and audio cds to check out as well. I have been adding a few to my music library. However, the music is a bit outdated. Currently (Spring 2021) magazines cannot be checked out. There is a great perk of being a member of the library right now where they have curbside assistance. Sometimes they give away books, music , audio books and I got a great one that happened to be in my interest. That was cool, and I'll be back to this library for sure."
"My book Everipedia Boxing Archives is in this library.https://everipedia.org/wiki/lang_en/matthew-e-oneilFort Carson's Grant Library provides a diverse selection of educational, research, and recreational sources for all ages. The library has a collection of 55,000 books and other resources of materials."
"Continues to be my favorite library in Denver! Very organized and clean and the employees are top-notch!Due to the Coronavirus, they have created an innovative way to pickup books without even going inside. You order the books or DVDs you would like as always but then you can select the Park & Pickup screen and select the date and time you would like to pickup your items. You then go to the library, park in one of the parking spots where the Park & Pickup Flags are displayed and someone will bring your items to your car. You can return your items in the book drop as always. In order to go inside, it is by appointment only, the same with using the computers."
"Disclaimer - we didn't go to this history center. I just had to write a review praising Old Colorado City so tourists would be sure and hopefully patronize this neighborhood. If you're like me and enjoy seeing mid-century and earlier classic buildings, the hotels in Old Colorado City will blow you away. There are probably 10 or 15 motels along the main drag here that remain untouched from a structural and historical standpoint since probably the 50's. I don't know of another place in America that's like this, really. It's very refreshing that the people of Colorado Springs appreciate the value of these hotels, because the almighty dollar all but demands they be torn down and replaced with a Fairfiled Inn or something. It's easy to miss Old Colorado City if you just take the highway up to Manitou Springs. But if you are visitng Colorado Springs and you enjoy nostalfic motels and businesses, be sure and dtop in this area so it will flourish. Next time we're in town, we'll be sure and visit the History Center to learn more about this area. I'm anxious to meet the kind of people who obviously treasure our (fairly) recent history."

"I am so glad we live so close to this library! I come here every other week or two to replenish my reading needs. Staff is wonderful and so pleasant. Very spacious library with lot of private study rooms that you can book. They also have a hall that you can book for private events. I really like that they have new desktops with printers for anyone that needs printing done (cheaper than ups). I've spent hours here and Always look forward to coming to the library! If you aren't a member yet, you should get yourself a library card here soon!"
"Reviewing this branch and one other that has also been a great resource for us.We have used the Ute Pass PPLD branch for years. I wasn't sure how they would take us running in to pick up a stack of holds every week, I've had librarians at other libraries (not PPLD) look at us a bit askance. But the folks here have invariably been thrilled to see the books being used. They genuinely love books and reading themselves and go entirely out of their way to make the whole family feel like they can't do enough to get us whatever resources we can use. K. is fabulous for making recommendations for young people and young adults. We have also used teen and youth programs here to supplement some of our home school work, their art class with L. was top notch, and her anatomy tutorial was something we could not have found elsewhere. They encourage the kids every year with their reading game, and have talked the adults in our family into trying it, also. Pasting the comments I wrote on the review of the other branch we've used as they apply here, also:We have five big readers in the family and we home school, so this last service is invaluable. We can research which books the family can use or might be interested in, look them up in the online catalogue, and pick them up when they are ready. This has turbocharged the kids' reading because there are no gaps in reading, there are always books ready for them when we stop in town. Of course, they usually browse the shelves in addition. Also great for video resources.Last great use, there are a ton of school resources that look interesting but are too expensive to sample over and over. PPLD's reserve holds option lets me check out these resources, review them, and either decide they don't fit us or go ahead and buy the books for the school year. This doesn't just save us money, it saves us wasting time on curricula that aren't a good fit. Can't praise the place enough! Much of this applies to the other branch we use, also, so I'll be pasting this there."
"The staff is super friendly and helpful! There is a fantastic collection of books, DVDs, and magazines. Would definitely recommend!"
"This location is a small to medium sized library in the Denver metro area. It has that cozy small town library feel with its warm earth tone colors and it's quiet little study nooks, but also having features that are relevant to today's library patrons such as an Idea Lab and self check out stations. I also liked the display at the front entrance and the mural by the front door. I'll be coming back to this location more often."
"This library is pretty on par with 21C - the mountain views are still exceptional (it's just a little less grandiose since it's not two story), the kids area is set apart and well stocked with a variety of toys and activities for babies, toddlers, and elementary age kids as well as a completely separate area for teens, and there's plenty of other spaces in the library to sit and enjoy the quiet/views. It's hard to decide which one I prefer, and they're both equidistant from my house, so I go to both often. An excellent free resource for the community that I'll be coming to often, and as I've learned, a great destination for indoor entertainment on inclimate days for my kiddo."
"This library is phenomenal. Maybe I haven't been to enough libraries in my life, but I have never seen a full play area for kids built into a library - they have blocks, train sets, dress up clothes, a table with crayons and paper to sit and color, not to mention tons of computers and books.I spent most of my time in the kids area with my little one, but the rest of this place is huge, there's plenty of space to work or read alone and not be disturbed, not to mention classes and programs you can sign up for online to attend, and great conference areas. The views of the mountains are also gorgeous."
"Great smaller library. Helpful staff & clean. That's all I personally need from a library...besides books & media of course."
"I made a novice tourist mistake when I was in Denver. It was a Monday and I wanted to visit the Denver Art Museum. I got there and it was closed. Bummer!Reminder to myself: check the hours of operation of whatever touristy place I want to visit. I have been pretty good at it since!Luckily, there were plenty of places around for me to discover. One of them was walking into Englewood Public Library. When you first walk in, you kind of feel like you're in a museum. There was the Cherrelyn horse train. The Cherrelyn was really a streetcar. A horse was used to help the motors go up a steep hill. When the train was going down it, the horse would hop in the train. All of this happened in Littleton, CO, where I was staying. I thought that it was a cool tie-in.This library is large and inviting. I wasn't expecting to spend some time investigating it, but I loved my time here. First, it had air conditioning. It was pretty hot during my July 2014 visit. Second, it's fairly quiet. I read a few magazines and enjoyed being so comfortable in my chair. There is an amazing collection of books to borrow. I also liked the multimedia section. I wished that I lived in Denver. I would be wearing out my library card.If I ever have a chance to spend a couple of hours reading and relaxing in Denver, I'd come back here.(228)"
