"Ahhh, it feels great to be back on the trails! Last week's hike took us to Evergreen's Alderfer/Three Sisters Park. From where we live it was a brief 35 minute drive, a beautiful one at that, too. It was our first time here and we opted to park in the West parking lot and hit the Evergreen Mountain Trail. 10/10 would recommend!Parking lot was full around 9:30 am on a Saturday morning. But not as crowded as I expected. Relatively clean and maintained bathrooms are available for use at the trail head near the stables. Evergreen is just that, green as ever! Beautiful trees line the trails, with mountain bikers whizzing by you. We brought our dog (on a leash, of course) and she enjoyed the trails, too. The views might not be as thrilling off the bat, but the trek to the summit is well worth it. Stunning and picturesque views of snow-capped Mount Evans? Oh yes!Our last two weekend hikes have been extremely successful and we hope to continue the streak this weekend, weather permitting. Colorado, I heart you!"
"I can't say enough good things about Savoy. My horse receives excellent care from the entire staff. The trainers are super knowledgeable and truly care about both the horse and rider. I have grown so much as a rider and a person. The boarders are great and supportive. No drama. The facility is gorgeous and always well maintained. Come join our family!"
"This place has incredible owners who work with you and intend to do their best for you daily. The atmosphere is friendly and everyone here seems to be in a good mood regardless of the circumstances. You'll love it here. I highly recommend!"
"It's a bit weird when you call- you think it is an AI or computer as the person is so automated. They ask for your phone number and email address right away even though you may have just a simple question. However, after that weird interaction, everything else was very pleasant. People get back to you right away and answer all your questions. Rocco is very helpful on site. The place is immaculate, even the driveway into the ranch. The buildings are very well maintained and clearly marked. The scenery is gorgeous, and the horses look very well taken care of."
"It's visually a little rough around the edges, but it's a fantastic place to board your horse or take lessons. Everyone is kind and friendly, the horses are always treated well, they source excellent hay, and there's room to do your own thing or socialize as you prefer. Plus, the outdoor arena is well drained and usable in most weather, and there's trail access as well. Tack sheds are available for rent, and there's some trailer parking too."
"Such an amazing place people there are so nice ther heard Is awsome I would 100% recommend it. It's a great learning experience and the instructors are super nice and helpful."
"Followed me then immediately unfollowed me on Instagram. Getting pretty sick of local businesses doing this to grow their social media presence. You just so happened to catch me while I'm bored."
"Wow! I was a long time Bell Mountain Stables boarder --- until it closed several years ago. The place had deteriorated something fierce while vacant, so when I learned that it had been purchased I was skeptical that it could be brought back from the dead. Boy was I WRONG! The Penrod family and their team have not only brought the facility back from the dead, but they have lovingly restored the historic buildings where possible, and brought new state of the art waterers, plumbing, new electrical systems, much better fencing, and a "can-do" attitude that is extended to everyone quite equally -- whether you are a serious rider like a jumper or dressage rider, or a trail rider like me, you will find your horse extremely well cared for, the hay is awesome, the staff is incredibly responsive, and all of my needs have been met or exceeded. I am so glad I moved "Pete the Wonder Horse" there and look forward to many years of great care and wonderful rides under the watchful eye of great trainers from several disciplines as well as on site management and security. I could not ask for more. I wish the team at BMREC a long and very successful run as the premier boarding & training facility for horses and the families who love them. No drama, just great care."
"Wow. Where to even begin. This is a family establishment, approachable, options for all ages, families, shapes, sizes and ages and experience levels. Personally, I was interested in learning to play polo, and was able to take lessons in general riding, polo-specific riding, and lease a horse to ride for pleasure and play/compete in polo events with. You will fall in love with the community and family atmosphere, the people, and their horses. Even if you're just looking for an afternoon of something new, Cottonwood Riding Club/The Denver Polo Club is definitely worth checking out. This place has brought my family together through the horses, my teammates, polo events, and of course the beautiful country and access to trails."
"If you want to pause time, come here and stay awhile. This little hidden gem has so much to offer. The world needs their goodness. Not only do they board horses here, they offer yoga at the farm, riding lessons, fundraising events, and support a nonprofit that is dear to my heart that uses horse therapy for those struggling with mental health and suicide.Discovered them signing up for their last horse yoga session for the season. When they offer those classes, sign up for the experience! Do more things that that make you feel good mentally! Horse yoga is a win physically too. Wendy, a local resident and horse lover is the owner. She is really wonderful, kind and filled with a passionate purpose. Her story will move you and make you want to do good. The horses boarded here are beautiful and the ribbons attest to their kind of training.Sky View Farm reminds you that you are worth loving. Worth keeping. Worth fighting for. If you forget your worth, come find it here. Thank you for all you do Sky View Farm!"
"Dustin was our guide for our horse ride and I honestly loved this experience. As soon as I landed in Denver I wanted to experience this with my twin sis. Dustin was a good trainer and explained everything very well to us. I loved the ride, loved my horse Pepsquek and loved this beautiful experience. My sister horse was Clyde and he was amazing as well. I will def come back again for this beautiful ride. I recommend for everyone to do this beautiful tour."
"I was hesitant to write this review because I try to find positives before I post. But then I saw there were multiple people who had the same problems. Here at the positives: It's a very nice area. The horses look well taken care of. They are very big on safety. The young ladies wrangling the ponies are very nice. I wish they had more ponies, as only 2 of the 6 kids in our group could ride at a time. I don't know the cut off is based on age vs weight. We had a very thin 9 year old who weighs less than many 7 year olds and she couldn't ride because she's 9. I agree with everyone who said Bob is gruff and was rude to the kids. He yelled at the kids and parents. A couple of the other moms and I talked about doing a horse ride for a moms day out but after seeing Bob yell at everyone, we will look elsewhere."

Just about 40 mins from Denver, decided to take our dog (he's the reason we're outdoor people now) for a hike. Perfect hike for the perfect day! The trail was covered in snow but today was fairly sunny and warm - turned out great! We did not have any spikes and I slipped a couple of times but over all was manageable. There are so many trails and you can choose which one you want to go for. We look the longer ponderosa trail about 4.8 km long and moderately trafficked. It had a few spots where we had to climb but it's completely doable even for an amateur. Our dog had so much fun! Definitely coming back in the summer.

Top quality horse care, training, staff and facilities. Great lessons, and school horse program! "A" shows and local shows attended. Something for everyone. Heated indoor and barn in the winter. Great turnout, happy horses, and awesome clients. I have kept my horse here for years, and he loves it!

I just had to get on here and leave something positive b/c I'm really confused by the few negative reviews. I have nothing but good things to say about Kristi and the barn. First off Kristi is SO NICE!! I wasn't there when my horse was trailered in and couldn't get out for a few days, she took the time to make sure he was introduced slowly and was all settled, sent me tons of pics of him over the next few days. I had a bunch of questions for her every day on things and she always replied so quickly and is just bubbly and nice. The barn is casual with a friendly vibe, 2 outdoor arenas and 1 indoor, 2 hot water wash-racks, access to trails, bathroom, small kitchen area with table. My horse is in one of the larger pens not the barn, they hay twice daily and will do more if you provide what you need. They keep the pens mucked out, the ranch hands have all been so friendly. If you're looking for a laid back friendly atmosphere this is a GREAT place. Let the haters hate but please don't let that deter you! I also let my horse be used in the summer camp and Kristi even sends me pics of him and his youth rider letting me know he's doing great. Couldn't ask for more. I'm a real boarder, my horse is Mater if you ever go for a visit! :) Thx!

If you are interested in horses and camping this is the place for you. This old home stead (1906) has the original feel and character of the old west. MANY of the original building still exist. There is horse back trail rides, hiking, fishing and even a chuckwagon dinner on Saturday nights. Most camp site have a pen in the back to keep your horse. FANTASTIC location , WONDERFUL staff and just a great place to be. Just west of Colorado Springs, deep in the mountains

"This is a place my daughters and I made memories, and for as long as I'm able we will be back. The people and experiences we had here are exactly what you want from just this kind of place. I could not say enough nice things. It was fun, peaceful and rewarding all at once. Last summer was really hot and we don't have any air conditioning of any kind at all..none. This is what prompted our spur of the moment mountain road trip. We needed the elevation, we wanted to get away to cool off, I googled and we found 'The Triple B Ranch'. This was a really awesome find. So the directions to Woodland Park that they emailed me were dead on. Please remember it was my daughters and myself in uncharted territory in the minivan on the loose. The fact that we made it there without incident is a really super duper start in my book. Thanks Triple B. We pull up on a dusty dirt road and we know it's going to be just perfect. We check in at the front office, the ladies there are great and send us off to our cabin. How cute...how clean...how quaint...how newly done but still SO rustic. We brought a lot of grub so I can cook while here. Full kitchen..bonus! There is NO TV we can actually communicate. I LOVE IT HERE and may never ever leave. OK... so we settle in and the first thing we notice is a huge, super fun amount of farm cats, very willing to buddy up to you and nuzzle like they've known you for years. We named a big, fat, orange one Whiskers and I swear he came each time we called. He was the quintessential fat cat. I am pretty sure he slept in between my daughters in an actual bed the last night after potentially sharing roasted chicken but you did not hear this from me....Also a new litter of kittens under the cabins next to ours was enough entertainment for days on end. Whiskers won my heart though. The second thing we saw was David, one of the ranch hands taking the mares from the stables to the pastures for the night. OMG he walked the mommies and their foals would trot along beside them and it was the cutest most beautiful thing we'd ever seen. Mommy horses and babies...right outside our doorstep? Life is sooo good. We went on beautiful guided rides, one for a steak dinner. It was sublime. The ranch hands, Brittany and David were totally into encouraging my daughters and even allowed them full barn access and had them feed the mares by themselves one night. They were THRILLED. Thank you both sooo much! My kids will never forget this. You are both priceless. It is also within about 20 miles of different great CO. locations in and near Colorado Springs. We did the Cog railroad and had a blast. It is really a pretty place to be. A great place to be. We just enjoyed ourselves...it was simple and TV free and full of animals both big and small. The staff was top notch and we are so coming back. This place made me feel better, made some incredible memories and helped me see life more clearly..how many stars is that worth?"
"Perfect way to start our last day in Colorado! The road up was a little wild - but fun, and amazing views! Jenny was excellent at keeping us informed - there had been some snow and the road was muddy and she was worried we wouldn't make it without 4WD - but she kept checking and texting me to keep me informed. She advised us just not to come down the driveway and we made it just fine! So glad thanks for giving us the time to decide Jenny!Logan was our guide, he was excellent! Calm and kind. My 13 yo rode at the front of our line and it was SO NICE to hear any chit chat up there (traveling alone with him I think we both needed him to have someone else to talk to). Logan adjusted saddles along the ride as needed, asked about us in general (where we were from, what our hobbies were...) told us the history of the stables and some local folklore. The horses were so sweet and gentle. I really enjoyed our ride and highly recommend to anyone in the area."
"This ranch is absolutely amazing. From the accommodations, to staff, to the view and location this place is 5 stars! I hope to be able to go back soon. Highly recommended!"
"I love Little Raven Ranch!. The facility is huge with indoor and outdoor arenas. The staff is very friendly and professional. My horse has hay and water every time I come to ride. I also like that they turn out my horse out everyday. I know that he's being checked on and getting exercise when I'm unable to come to the barn. The bathrooms are clean and stocked as well. The manager makes it point to go above and beyond to help out with any of my needs. If you need a place to room your horse this is it! They have indoor and outdoor stalls available based on your price range. I'm going to keep my happy equine here for a long time."
"Visited with my daughter and mother-in-law, who leased a horse here. Seems like a well-run boarding facility for horses. There a large open space where most of the horses hang out. Lots of stalls. A free students arrived in a bus for riding lessons. As a visitor, I had a great time. I'm not sure what access the public has to take a trail ride, for example"
"My wife and I also had a wonderful time at the ranch. The views are to die for and Rhoda and Elin went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, and more. Elin and her husband also own Sangres Best Steaks (http://sangresbest.com/) so instead of buying meats at the grocery store in-town we just placed an order with Elin on the first day and we had steaks, hamburgers, and hotdogs for the whole week. And let me tell you, I could cut the filets with a fork. The first half of the week my wife and I lazily sat around on the porch, around the fire pit, and on the hammock just taking in the views. Then, the other half of the week we hiked, fished, and went horse back riding. If it had been a little warmer we would have drove an hour north to Canyon City for white water rafting. There was WiFi in the ranch house which allowed my wife and I the ability to watch Westerns from our Amazon Prime account once it got dark. Add the fire place in the living room and the call from coyotes in the distance, making the evenings just as nice as the daytime. My favorite toy at the ranch was the 6 burner Viking Professional stove. I cooked like a professional chef everyday. And if I did not want to cook inside I use the outdoor grill on the front porch, or we roasted hotdogs over at the fire pit. Since we are moving to the Denver area soon, we plan on going back many times in the future. Thanks Elin for sharing your families ranch with us and we will see you soon!!!"
"This place is fantastic! Lee and Mike were great with kids and great to talk to and led us on a great two hour ride through some beautiful country. Highly recommend checking them out!"
"this a a amazing barn it's such a nice place. the staff are amazing and so kind. the owners are truly the best at what they do they have all helped me in different ways. if someone asked what barn is the best i would say cottonwood riding club it's the best place to take lessons the trainers are the best i 100% recommend love this place"
"One of the best overnight stabling facilities I've had the pleasure of utilizing. Owners responded quickly to initial email and follow up email and text communications. They met me on arrival and showed us the layout. We were given clean 10x30 covered runs with sanitized buckets and feeders, and a wheelbarrow to clean out our trailer. Timothy hay was available for $14/bale (July 2024). There are 4 pens in this group, which is separated from surrounding pens and paddocks. My horses tend to be picky but drank the water at WZ readily. There are two slots for trailer parking with electric but no water or septic hookup. Another hookup is available across the property. There was another patron parked there, and the separation allowed us both maximum privacy and biosecurity. The only negative element is about a mile of washboard gravel road leading into the property, which is not WZ Ranch's fault. The drive and little-used gravel road made a nice safe place for us to walk our dogs.We were coming off a long 20 hour haul, and really appreciated the quiet and beautiful location for a nice long rest before we hit the road again. We will definitely use WZ again!"
"Nick and Monique are some of the most caring owners I have met. They work hard to keep all horses safe and to make sure personalities match in a herd like atmosphere. My horse, Daisy, is definitely a bit of a challenge, but after a few months, she has adjusted very well to her new environment! I love that they are always updating and improving the ranch! Right now they have heated water tanks for the winter! You always can tell the horses are their first concerns. The outdoor arena is wonderful and sandy. They are close to Stanley Lake for trail riding. Everyone I meet there is always friendly and helpful. Thumbs up! Keep up the great work!"
"Loved this so much! The guides were so sweet & helpful, definitely made the experience even better! We will for sure be back :)"
"Lee Unruh is an outstanding trainer with unmatched knowledge and experience in the hunter/jumper ring nationwide. I have ridden with her specifically for 2+ years and and can't begin to do justice the fundamentals of perfecting my seat that she has, and continues to work with me on. She also helped me locate and purchase my horse out-of-state through her wide range of connections. She is a lovely person inside and out who will work with both junior and amateurs alike in any capacity to achieve his or her goals. Canon Ridge as an equestrian center excels in personalized horse care and amenities that are second to none. Every aspect of boarding and training here is tailored specifically to each rider and his or her horses needs. What I love most about boarding here is that the atmosphere is very professional, but relaxed at the same time. Between Lee's exceptional training, Oscar's kind, thoughtful care of each horse each and every day and the property owner's graciously sharing their astounding property with us, I wouldn't board anywhere else."
"Our daughter was married at Snowcreek Ranch in Larkspur Colorado this summer. It was stunning! Amazing venue. The staff on site was so relaxed and made everything come together. We worked with Taste of My Kitchen for the food and because this caterer does other events at Snowcreek they were already familiar with the setup and made it easy. We would recommend Snowcreek Ranch if you are looking for a venue that truly reflects beautiful Colorado."
"Great experience. We took the two hour ride. Scott made sure we felt comfortable and did a mid ride check as well for saddle or stirrup adjustment the horses were so gentle and my 14 year old said he felt he learned how to ride. Last one in TN they just dumped us on the horses and said follow me. It was nice to see how the horses well cared for."
"Blood, Sweat and TearsMy boysMy teamsMyselfWe've experienced them allRight hereThis is ParkerThis is baseballThis is soccerThis is flag footballThis is horsesHorses?I see the horses and hear the announcerBut I don't know anything about what's happeningThis is a great parkA real bathroom with running water and paper towels.Little players, and big ones, will appreciate itParking is goodAnd...The Helton baseball field is the best youth field I have ever seenLove it."
"The stable has a great kids' riding program with great instructors. I cannot say enough great things about the instructor we have had in the past year. The fees are very reasonable, as well. The stable's horses are well cared-for and safe. They also have special events and the "Haunted Hayride" during Halloween is a lot of fun!"
"My friends and I wanted a laid back place to stay this fall for a weekend of hiking in the beautiful yellow aspens. Deer Valley Ranch had incredible prices on their cabins. The facilities were spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly and so easy to work with. I plan on staying here again!"
"The G R Bar Ranch has been one of the most fun vacations we have spent in Colorado. Located near beautiful Paonia, the ranch offers 4 cabins for a week long stay; cabins are a mile to a mile and a half from each other so you feel like all the ranch belongs to you. Each cabin comes with 2 horses and their tack. (You can get more for an additional price.) When the husband and I checked into the ranch and Arrowhead cabin, their ranch hand brought us a matching set of ponies and started to show us basic horse care. Once he realized I was an experienced horse person, he said for us to come get him if we needed any help. Other than the ranch hand coming back the next day to ask if I would trade my pony because they needed an easy horse for another family for Smitty, the ranch's pack horse who had not been ridden all summer but knew Smitty and I would be fine together, we had the ranch to ourselves. There are tons of trails to ride on, lakes to fish in, boats to paddle in, and 4 wheel roads to drive on (all inclusive). We did not see any of the other families the whole week. Now, if you are not such an isolationist as we are, you can go down to the main lodge for a visit with other families or the owners. The cabins are run by propane and slightly rustic. You have all the comforts of home except a TV and telephone which is what we wanted for our vacation escape. We did go into town to get fresh peaches and other food but basically spent an incredible week catching up with each other and pretending Arrowhead was our private cabin. From reading the guest book, families come year after year even leaving some personal items such as games and sports equipment doing the same thing we did, pretending this was their private get away. The only reason G R Bar gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because they advertise the great fishing in their lakes. Since we were there at the end of the season, most fish had been fished out and eaten. This made the husband a bit cranky as he is a catch and release man. Other than that, I cannot even begin to tell you how fabulous the G R Bar Ranch is for a family vacation. And once you go, you become their family and receive a Christmas card every year."
"This place is great although tricky to get to your first time. Turn east on mineral and take an immediate right on the dirt road. There were really nice horses and farm animals. We had my daughters birthday party here. The girls had a wonderful time. There's a gazebo to have lunch and cake afterwards with a cute playground. The yard was a little messy but we got there early and picked things up a bit. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. It was a party the girls will never forget! Thanks Coventry Farms."
"What a joy to find Georgia Ranch Trail Rides and Kirsten the owner. We booked a 3 hour ride and it was me, my husband and Kirsten. Individualized ride with great horses through some beautiful BLM land.Maybe you have gone trail riding with an outfitter but this is truly an individualized experience. Conversation along the way about what we were experiencing, learning about our horses (Cooper and Connor) and having a relaxing ride. Kristen took care of everything- brought water bottles for us, a snack to stop along the way and eat and stretch our legs, and extra padding on the saddle for us!If you find your way to Westcliffe in Colorado be sure to book with her. It's well worth the experience"
"I have been looking for lessons for a long time and finally found a place. So far so good! Easy location small operation and best of all AFFORDABLE! Jill is great my daughter is very happy here."
"This is a fantastic equestrian facility. The owner is very nice an they take great care of the horses. My girls live meeting all the other girls who ride at this barn.Time to ride!!!!"
"We chose to come here after a negative experience at another stable. We're glad we came here.We filled out the necessary paperwork and we were on our way. Unlike our previous experience at another place, the manager was very nice to us. Our guide, Paula was so nice. She was very knowledgeable and took great care of us and our horses. It was a great time and we'll be back!"
