"UPDATE!All of the things mentioned in my previous review still ring true! Although the menu is breakfast heavy and served all day, the lunch shines just as much and is OMG so good.++ The Ruben - Slow-cooked corned beef or roasted turkey, or both - with Swiss cheese and sauerkraut with Russian dressing on rye bread. Do yourself a favor and get the corned beef as the meat is generously layered with melty cheese and absolutely delicious! ++ SBLT - Griddled salmon with bacon, lettuce, tomato and basil mayonnaise served on multigrain bread. I know what you're thinking, "salmon, at a breakfast joint?". Well, let me tell you this sandwich was well cooked, layered perfectly and refreshing! My side of sweet potato fries were icing on the cake!Mom and I left with a full belly after a wonderful experience! When in the area, I'd easily return!"
"Excellent service and well worth the wait. The food was delicious. I gotta bacon waffle and I want it every single day."

"Loved this old establishment. We had the mushroom appetizer, family Cesar salad and family spaghetti and meatballs. Could have fed 6 people we were only 3 of us. Great waiter everything was clean except one fly flew around us for an hour. Great experience in town for a convention. Hotel manager recommended place. Excellent choice!!! The house cab was very good and a big portion. Special thanks Taylor Hernandez hand model in pictures."
"You ever get a 19 sleep number on your bed...?!?! It took a real special sort of night. The type where you get home from work and fall into bed at 130a then get the worse food poisoning imaginable for several hours and your alarm goes off in the 5a hour to get up and hit LAX on the "busiest travel day of the year". That my friend is how you achieve a 19!That being said, by the time I flew to Denver, rented a car and drove to Colorado Springs I was in desperate need of a latte. I made it to Switchback by 230p before they closed on Sunday.I was only in town for 20 hours to celebrate my sons birthday and spend some time with him and if not for this pumpkin spice latte that brought me back to life I wouldn't have been able to get into celebration mode.I really do believe Switchback is the best coffee in town. Consistently outstanding at different locations. I'm so thankful they were open. Fantastic service. I sat there for a moment to enjoy my latte before driving to my son's place. If I lived nearby this would be my everyday coffee spot. Highly recommend."
"We love having Snowl in our neighborhood. As far as places to go in the Denver metro area for "shave or shaved ice" we don't have many choices. Snowl is a fun place to enjoy a large bowl, big enough for 3 people. We haven't done it yet but they have cornhole as well as board games you can play while enjoying your dessert."
"Best coffee house and I have been to so many. Best espresso hands down. Thanks for still offering a dark roast!! Delicious menu items. Thanks for offering vegan options!!Phenomenal ambiance. Super well done. Top notch service. Best part, the entire purpose seems community focused. Check out their website for purpose statements, land acknowledgment, and upcoming events. Inclusive and safe. Just love this place!!"
"While the hotel we stayed at offered free breakfast (including coffee), my colleague and I opted to take a Lyft to try some local coffee. We decided to go to Loyal Coffee on Nevada to start our morning before heading to the local office. The ambiance at Loyal Coffee is just my vibe: good music, not too quiet, the aroma of coffee, aesthetically pleasing decor, natural lighting, and friendly staff. On my first visit, I ordered an Iced Honey Cinnamon Latte and wondered why it looked a little dark. I soon found out it had 4 shots of espresso - yikes! We enjoyed the flavors and came back to Loyal Coffee for a second visit before we left Colorado Springs. This time I asked for just 1 shot of espresso and it was delicious.Recently, I was back in the Springs for another business trip and made Loyal Coffee my first stop. It was great to be back and, of course, ordered my favorite Iced Honey Cinnamon Latte (with just 1 shot of espresso) and one of their iced teas. Delicious! This is my favorite coffee shop out here. The staff are always so positive and friendly, the shop has plenty of seating, they offer baked goods and merch, and serve delicious hot and cold drinks."
"Denver has no shortage of killer coffee and SONDER is part of the conversation. I've had their coffee before but have never sat in the shop before until yesterday. 10/10 would recommend!I've posted about my adoration for espresso tonics and SONDER's might have instantly become a new favorite in town. They even garnish with a lemon wheel. Like an old fashioned cocktail, typically these drinks have a "curve" of peak bitterness in the beginning, followed by a more mellow sweetness at the end. This one somehow tasted balanced the entire way through. I guzzled it down way too quickly, which is probably the best compliment I could give it!Free wifi was working exquisitely. Plenty of remote worker bees like myself draining every ounce of wifi imaginable and plugging away on our computers. The door was open and the sun was shining through the shop. Though simple in design, it's extremely comfortable, and they had a steady flow of customers on a Tuesday afternoon.SONDER, I might need to head over YONDER to that part of town more often. Excellent coffee, friendly baristas, and a pleasing aesthetic. No complaints, keep doing what you're doing!"
"Great coffee and fast service for a little place. Not much of a food selection, but you'll find a few snacks to pair with your drink"
"We went in early in the morning on a very cold day. It was one of the only places that was open before 10 am in southlands. We went in thinking there was only gonna be drinks. Thankfully they had breakfast too. I got a hot coco with almond milk. Very delicious and do recommend it. My partner got a seasonal drink, I think it was something pumkin pie flavored. Unfortunately we did not like that one. The food was a 9/10. I got a vegetarian sandwich and it was satisfying. Not amazing but it did have a nice taste. The peanut butter toast was also good but eventually got too sweet to finish. The inside was pretty but slightly confused with the vibes. It gives farm style but then there's chandelier everywhere. I don't hate it but to ME it's two different vibes. There are a lot of seating but once it starts reaching 8 or 9 am it gets packed!!The people working there were very kind and friendly. We appreciate that the Latinx lady in the counter was patient with us. She understood that it was our first time there and gave us grace when looking at the menu and even gave us recommendations. I would come here again but will be more cautious on the coffee selection."
"Food: we got butter and almond croissants and they were delicious. I wish I had caught the beautiful lady's name but she was kind enough to warm them up for us. Service: absolutely great, wouldn't take any review away from them!Coffee: we got the chai latte, mocha, sugar cookie latte, and hot chocolate for my little babies. They were not only beautiful but delicious! Whenever I visit Denver, I make it a point to come visit here!"
"I'm always in search of a great coffee shop! I'm the type of person who says every single night, I'm going to bed early then decides it's a good idea to lay awake in bed after I've meditated, book a trip to Korea, randomly register for the Coeur d'Alene marathon and before you know it going to bed early was simply a dream of a good idea. I wake up needing to jump start my day and my fav way is always a perfect latte from somewhere yummy! I have a couple fav spots in town and I try very hard to not be a total creature of habit so I told myself I wouldn't go to the same place every day for a week. I wanted to take a chance on somewhere new. Enter Story Coffee, the cutest little coffee spot located alongside a park. Adorable!I tried their seasonal gingersnap latte with oat milk. Very tasty!Great service! Very friendly and helpful when I asked about the neighborhood, their recommendation for breakfast was perfect :) Highly recommend! Limited seating indoor, but their location is great for exploring the surrounding area."

Jelly wins my award for cutest brunch spot I had the pleasure of dining in during my time in Denver! The restaurant is ADORABLE. If you love the color pink, and bright poppy fun vibes, you'll love this place. Everything we ate was so good. We didn't have a single complaint about anything we tasted. We ordered the smoked salmon and goat cheese scramble, French toast and a couple of their famed donut holes. All were delicious. That French toast was mouth wateringly good. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Denver!

Umm, umm good. Service is always EXCELLENT ! Took my Daughter and Grandson from Texas. The atmosphere was nice and had friendly sounds from all the people, conversatineating and just having a good ole' time. The only complaint I have is, I got full. If only Yelp had more stars.

This place surprised me. So many seating options at tables, the bar, outside, etc. Many different spaces for reading or talking or studying. Their avocado toast was amazing! Love that they had food options.

If you're looking for a nice refreshing dessert or drink, this is the place to go! They have several choices if you're looking for something sweet, including their super soft shaved ice (bingsu) topped with condensed milk and fruits/red beans/other toppings or their several drink options! Their shaved ice is a large portion that is meant to be shared, so heads up!This place is also perfect for a hangout spot since they offer plenty of tables and chairs for seating large or small groups and have board games to keep you entertained as well! They have several digital kiosks where you can place an order, or you can order with the staff. The service here is always friendly and there's never too long of a wait because they work pretty quickly!

Tiny little coffee shop in what appears to be an old home redecorated for coffee, chill and chatting. Overall tight space but well utilized with a welcoming atmosphere that encourages you to take a seat a stay a while. There was just one lady working the front whom was super pleasant and helpful. While I wanted to try their own roast, i selected their $5 traditional Turkish coffee which they were donating these specific profits directly to Turkey for the much needed aid after the recent 2023 earthquake.Wifey had the "Sagittarius" which was a dirty chai latte with hazelnut and toffee nut - this was basically diabetes in a cup! It was delicious but WOWZERS it was super sweet!Great little spot. Great experience. Likely to return!

My son and I made two visits to Loyal two days in a row while I was in town to move him into his new place. They do a very nice job and the place is cute. Service is friendly. I'd recommend if you're looking for a coffee shop in the area. I will note their beans seem a bit stronger than a few other coffee shops in the area, and I typically like a milder/smoother espresso - nonetheless, a good coffee shop. Grateful for their hours when many other places have closed for the day.

I got their lemon poppyseed matcha. The presentation was beautiful, but it just tasted only like matcha, no hints of lemon. It had the poppyseeds on the top but no additional poppyseed taste.Their almond croissant was good, but I have definitely had better ones. The place is cute and was clean during my visit here. The staff were not friendly. They took a while to take my order and had frowns on their faces the whole time I was there. They do not honor the Yelp checkin of 10% off.I really wanted to like this place, but my visit just was not good enough for me to come back.

"Such a beautiful and well taken care of space. There were so many fun food options to choose from, so we decided to come back once a month and try everything lol. I love that all the sitting areas have water and cups and cloth napkins for you to help yourself to. Outside had an area for people to play cornhole too, such a great idea."
"Randomly stopped in here for lunch after seeing the good reviews and it did not disappoint! Everyone who worked there was extremely friendly and helpful from the moment we walked in, and the food was delicious- especially the doner baguette and beef borek. We will definitely come back next time we're in the neighborhood."
"Stopped by for a coffee to go real quick and ended up leaving with a coffee and a churro croissant. I really wasn't here for longer than five minutes. What I can say though is the coffee was delicious, my daughter was obsessed with the churro croissant, the place is decorated so that you feel welcomed, the service fast and friendly. Definitely will come back the next time I need a coffee in Denver."
"Update: I still love this coffee shop. I feel like my previous review was unfair and only captured a snapshot of the lived experience of many through the pandemic. This shop has a great menu, wonderful staff, and lovely ambiance. I love being able to come here to enjoy a warm beverage and grade papers or lesson plan. I'm grateful this local gem exists."
"Good atmosphere, but mediocre food. The waitress was very nice. The onion soup was good, but the baguette looked like a mediocre store-bought version, definitely not homemade. They also messed up our order and forgot the French dip sandwich. When it finally arrived, it was too salty and didn't compare to the real French dips I've had at other places. Would not go again."
"We absolutely loved our brunch! Service was good, food was incredible, prices reasonable. We even went on a Saturday. I think for those of you who don't want slow service, wait a bit and go around 11 or 12. The crowds are gone and you can get all the attention you need! This is an excellent business and a key part of our Palmer Lake community. Please continue to support them- it's up to us to keep them thriving!"
"The food was great and the service from Clarissa was amazing. It's a small place that could be considered a grease spoon or a dive, but the ambiance is very local and not chainy at all. We loved it!"
"What a top choice... Trusting Yelp, how we always do. We gave Higher Grounds Cafe a shot while on a recent trip up to the mountains. Upon walking in, I got the sense that it was a super chill and friendly shop. Everyone seemed to be local WFA (work from anywhere) patrons. It's a good sign, IMO. While ordering, I discovered how friendly the barista was. We had a great conversation and even a laugh before I left with two solid lattes in my hand. (:"
"The coffee is top notch. People are very friendly. It is quaint. Limited parking in back. Pastry looked good but we only had the oatmeal and coffee but that was perfect for our day."
"One of my favorite coffee shops in town to work from. It can be tough to find a spot to sit at peak hours but usually doesn't take too long to get a seat. The coffee is hands down my favorite in the springs and the customer service is great. Highly recommend."
"The menu was really varied and the boba was amazing. The crepes had perfectly crisp edges"
"Amazing sammies. And lord I have tried most there.Curtis Park Deli is dangerous...I mean it is a block away from me and the Sandwiches are addictive. It starts with that amazing bread.... so fresh and pairs with the meats perfectly.Than the combination of items on the sandwich is so creative and flavorful it will addict you too.Small parking lot in front just in case."
"Amazing coffee!! Awesome service and such a friendly staff. So glad we stopped in while visiting from CA. I was in love with their coffee. The baristas know what they are doing!"
"Slowly has become one of my favorite breakfast spots. Ideal place to pick up breakfast on a sunny day since it's basically a pick up window so you will be standing outside.. and sometimes there is a line and a wait to grab the food but it does move quickly. They run out of burritos pretty often (I have actually never been able to snag one!) but my go to is a bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant. It's big enough for two in my opinion if you don't have a big appetite. Their coffee is also solid. They have summer specialty flavors and such if you're feeling adventurous!"
"I googled "coffee" when I was in the area and this place came up. It was hopping on a Friday afternoon and every table inside (probably 8ish) was occupied. The barista let me try a sample of the frozen bear and it's probably the best frozen coffee drink I've ever had. Not super sweet and so delicious! Great spot."
"Food is always wonderful and the service is amazing and friendly and pretty quick too! The atmosphere is busy and yet homey and welcoming. Local artists pairings grace the walls, listed for sale. Which is a nice touch when you're visiting! It's a busy little place with homemade everything (from what I could tell) the chocolate croissants are phenomenal as are the cream cheese croissants and the French bread. The omelettes were tasty and cooked to perfection and the French onion soup was wonderful. It's quickly becoming our favorite location in the Springs. We have never had bad food or service there in the few years we've been visiting while on vacation.Highly recommend!"
"I'm from NY - and these are the most legit bagels I've had in over a decade!!! The cream cheese is also amazing (especially the veggie and the bacon & scallion). The texture is the perfect mix of crusty and chewy. I expected to find a line out the door based on the reviews, but to my surprise (8 am on a Thursday), I walked right in to impeccable service and friendly staff. I am OBSESSED!!!"
"Went with the family to afternoon tea and so impressed by this quaint and cozy tea shop! Staff was super-friendly, so knowledgeable about the different varieties of teas and gave us great recommendations.Definitely make a reservation ahead of time because they fill up quickly. We were immediately seated and the table was comfortable and everything was well-placed and beautiful.Excellent variety of teas, finger sandwiches and scones. So fun trying everything and presentation was top-notch and delicious!"
"I was in the area early today when nothing else was open for breakfast and decided to stop by, best decision ever. Seriously a hidden gem. I've driven by 100 times and never knew they were there. The blueberry fitter was WARM and melt in your mouth amazing. My family said best ever."
"GET THE COFFEE!! It's fabulous!! Saturday late morning and it's pretty packed! Lots of hustle and bustle of servers and people ordering food at the counter. There're pastry cases and loud music, so we asked for the outside patio table. It was really lovely. Our server Juanita was a cute pistol and extremely kind. We ordered and it wasn't too long afterwards when our drinks then food arrived. The chips are wonderful and hearty thick! The Azteca burrito was amazing but the chilequiles needed more sauce. A very nice man brought me a cup of their green chili which helped immensely but I was so full with half my dish that I couldn't fully enjoy it. My eggs were perfectly cooked over easy and the refried beans were great. I wanted a hot skinny vanilla latte and it was brought iced, but Oh. My. Gosh. It was incredibly tasty. I'd like to come back soon!!"
"There's something about the Springs when it snows that makes an LA native feel like someone's shaken up a snow globe and I've jumped right inside of it. I love how stunning this city is when it's covered in powder (never mind sweeping the car off, it's worth the views). Each time I come to town, I pray for a magical dusting. Black Bear Coffee isn't necessarily my most fav coffee shop in town but I've visited on several occasions.Things I love about Black Bear, the constant flow of camouflage that enters. I thought yellow was my fav color but every time I'm in town I realize it's not yellow, it's camo! Why is real estate not up in towns where hot men in uniform are literally everywhere?!?! It's obviously a bit more prominent due to the base being a stones throw away from their front door.I always order the same drink, a caramel bear with oat milk and I've had the chorizo breakfast burrito a couple of times. Black Bear provides a good start to the day with their many tasty offerings. Service is always sweet, and quick - two things I greatly appreciate.Very nice spot for a meet up, warm, cozy, yummy, totally hits the spot. A slightly more rustic vibe than some of the other spots I visit in town."
"I highly recommend this coffee shop. Family owned and the roast their own beans. They offer a turkey avocado panini sandwich, excellent!Definitely coming back."
"While in town visiting friends, they kept saying we had to get to this coffee shop. She is a bonafide coffee-holic and so am I. Once we stepped in the aroma was heavenly. The staff were extremely welcoming, maybe in part because our friend is a regular. First I ordered a latte. The presentation was lovely and it was a gentle smooth treat. Next up was an Americano. It was strong and also somehow smooth- not bitter at all. Compared to many others I've tried, this coffee shop is superior. Part of the charm is it's one of many different businesses on a long hallway. The hallway is lined with tables and chairs. While in search of a restroom, a realization came that this building is a repurposed old school. Created a bit of nostalgia. Truly the Colorado way to preserve and reuse."
