Bunk House Burgers

After a disastrous attempt at having a meal at the High Side in Salida we dropped in at Bunk House later on to literally to get the bad taste out of our mouths. We were not disappointed. Thank you & we'll be back!

The service was great. You walk in and order at the counter. Our order came lightening fast! We received our order before the rest of our party was done ordering. We tried the caballero, cowboy up, and the double bar diamond burgers. They were all tasty and the burgers seamed to all be well done with the choice of 1/4,1/3,1/2 patties. The option of fries or house made chips are available, I would suggest the chips. They currently have seasonal milkshakes and we enjoyed the eggnog. The soda fountain has all real sugar sodas and would recommend the cream soda. The restaurant was clean and high chairs are available.

Visiting the area for the weekend and found this place on Yelp. The service here is great, the teens working were super friendly and took time to explain the ordering process etc. food came out quick and they have a real sugar soda machine. The chocolate shake I got was super good, thick! The fam liked their root beer and lemonade. The burgers were just okay. They had not much flavor to them and were not juicy at all. Bummer. They all came with house made chips which were good. The restaurant was clean inside and out. Just wasn't impressed with the burgers at all and that was the main reason for stopping in.

Always enjoy coming in to have the best burgers in Canon City. They are so friendly and engage conversation with their customers. You feel like a part of the family from the moment you walk in until you leave completely full!

We decided to try this burger place based off of the amount of reviews but what sealed the deal for us was that they raise their own grass-fed beef. All Americans should support local ranchers!!!The beef is grass fed and raised locally by the owners of the restaurant, you can taste the freshness. The fries and spud shavings (chips) are some of the best we'd ever had. The fries are wide and thin, we've never had anything like it before. They were SO GOOD. I loved that there were different size options for the burgers. My husband got 1/2 pound, my oldest got 1/3 pound and my youngest and I got 1/4 pound.However, the buns and condiments, were subpar. I feel like it took away from how good the beef was. For example, jarred pickled jalapeños instead of fresh. Or pepper jack cheese without flavor. Which might not seem like a big deal to some, but to me it makes a difference. My husband got a pretzel bun and liked it, I got a regular bun and it was dry. The chipotle sauce was pretty good though.We would for sure go back, but I'd get something different.The service was so great. They made us feel welcome and served us well.The restaurant itself is old, outdated and a little dirty but it didn't take away from the food.

Some really awesome and unique burgers. Farm raised, grass fed. Sides are awesome and delicious local Colorado fountain sodas. Pricing is reasonable and friendly staff.

Right away it had a nice easy going vibe. Lady working the front was inviting and kind and the bronco buster was fantastic. Would absolutely come again when I'm in the area.

Place is semi fast food. Order at the counter. Service was good. That is the plus. Bun on hamburger was not grilled and was not very fresh. Too much mayo on the burger. I had the baron burger with the bacon Bleu cheese. Small part bacon. Bleu cheese was on bottom. Could have been melted on it. Just was not put together well. Soda machine didn't seem to be working. More syrup than carbonated water so drink was ungodly sweet and flat. Iced tea was old tasting in dispenser. Overall not very clean place. No won't be back and not sure where all the good reviews were from

This was the second time coming to the establishment. After this time we probably will not be back, we spent 80+ dollars and we asked to return a foamy chocolate shake and the owner made a nasty remark and issue about this. If they are willing to lose customers for a 4.00 shake after spending 80.00+ will not be back nor support. Go to another fast food place.

My family stopped here on a road trip per a review I saw. Food was very filling. Unique burgers. Homemade chips were great...I love the crunchy fries so I dipped mine in ketchup! I don't typically purchase drinks but they were very reasonably priced especially with the old fashioned soda options. I've seen posts that it was expensive. My family of 4 ate for just over $50 drinks and sides included. I opted for the chips but my boys got sides. (We also ate Whataburger on the same trip for the same amount of food and cost so I deem this reasonable.)Fast service!
