Adjacent to the Base Exchange and the mall food court, you can enter from the mall side or store front . Plenty of parking although it does fill up when things get busy. This is the military grocery store. Very well stocked, neat clean and the shelves show that satisfying symmetry of product alignment. Plenty of checkout lanes and they do have a self-checkout area but I wouldn't call self-checkout "express" because most self-checkout users are anything but express-like. The primary business review is now over so read on at your own discretion. The typical self-checkout user goes something like this: pick up an item from their cart or basket. Look at the item, I guess to remember why they wanted it. Look for the barcode. Scan the item. Look at the screen to check the price. Place the item in a bag or down in the bagging area. Turn, pick up another item and repeat the process. At some point, something gets placed in the nagging area that the computer doesn't like so it announces and item has been placed in the bagging area that hasn't been scanned and asks the user to remove the item. The user is now confused and looks around for help. The computer makes the announcement again. The user is frantically picking up and putting down items. Finally assistant arrives and works some magic on the keypad. The user, now calm again, goes back into their original checkout mode and rhythm. At some point everything is now scanned. While this process was taking place, you turned your attention to something taking place through the window outside in the overhang above. You watch as a small sparrow starts building a nest. Back to the user for a moment who is now searching through their wallet or purse. You're now amazed because the sparrow has just finished building a very suitable home. You wish the sparrow well as your attention reverts back to the user who is now sliding dollar bills into the machine and looking at the screen to see if they've inserted enough. Oh wait, they're reaching into a pocket now. Coins. Adding coins to the slot. Ker-chunk. Ker-chunk. I didn't know anyone still used coins. That's interesting. You daydream for a moment of going home and rolling that bottle full of coins you've been collecting so you can cash them in. Back to the user. No wait! The sparrow! You weren't paying attention and missed the eggs hatching! The sparrow is feeding the baby birds! When did she have time to lay the eggs?! The user is bagging items now. Oh they forgot to take their receipt and the computer, now sounding a little annoyed, is letting anyone within earshot know. The user takes the receipt and grabs a few more plastic bags, I guess for good measure and is now on their way, looking back once or twice to make sure they didn't forget anything. Oh look! The baby birds are now taking their first flights! Fare thee well baby birds. Fare thee well.

WHY? Why is the ONLY grocery store on base closed at TWO PM???? Disappointed and so were many many others that checked those double doors to go buy food. Completely unacceptable. I'm never coming here again, what a joke! I would like to add, the wonderful base commander also closed down all but ONE, ONE exit out of the base with only ONE lane open...mind blown, who is running this place?

I would never buy meat there, unless you like freezer burn, the meat is awful. Check dates, went a few days ago and was organizing today and alot of the groceries are expired. Such a disappointment!
