Billy's Southern Pride

Short hours at this soul food establishment. If you are on top of it enough to get yourself in to place an order, there are bold flavors waiting for you on the other side. Now accepting virtually all forms of payment (used to be cash only) this place has entered modern day technology and welcomes all patrons.We tried the fried catfish and we choose potato salad and mac n cheese as our 2 sides. We also added a side of collard greens. Everything tasted delicious. A bit on the salty side, but very good. Even the tartar sauce was quite tasty! It also came with 2 hush puppies which were good too.The gentleman running this place seemingly by himself took the time to chat a bit and even personally walked our order out to us in the parking lot. They just installed a new digital payment system and are working out the bugs. Call ahead and prepare to be fed right. Worthy of mention prices are a tad on the high side, as is everywhere right now. Yelp reports a single $ but its def a $$ kinda place. There is no indoor seating that we could see. You basically pick up take out orders at the counter.

Well, it appears this new, tasty BBQ place has already closed. Sadly had hoped it would keep a BBQ place in the neighborhood.

I was having a huge craving for some southern fried chicken & this place kept coming up on my search so I decided to check it out. I was convinced by the many positive reviews. When I arrived I was told I needed to come back later because they were not ready, I had to run some errands so I didn't mind, I wanted fried chicken & was willing to wait. 45 mins later I was back, I ordered enough food for 2 maybe 3, but I wanted to try everything. After 30 mins of waiting in my car my food was ready. I drove home ready to indulge, there was always tomorrow for some hardcore gym workouts. How disappointed this was? Don't get me wrong, I know we are in Colorado where people think denver biscuits co has good biscuits (WRONG!) but I was at least hopeful I was going to get some good flavor out of the fried chicken, the skin was great, crispy & flavorful but the meat was bland & dry, I wanted some juicy grease dripping down the side of my mouth fried chicken, this was not it. I got the fried okra, that was good, the Mac & cheese was really good, I gave up on the chicken & just ate all the Mac and cheese, delicious. I of course indulged & got the candied yams which were okay, kinda hard, I was hoping for more tender. Overall, I wouldn't recommend the fried chicken but def get the Mac and cheese, it was perfection.

I never knew that Billy's southern pride was right around the corner from me! I am so glad I discovered them! Billy's has a delicious menu that offers authentic southern dishes. From fried catfish to ribs and even sweet-tasting desserts. They only offer take out and are pretty quick in answering the phone! My food was ready in about 25 minutes and I had ordered quite a bit of food. The food is priced fairly in my opinion considering the huge portions. I ordered the fried catfish platter that came with two sides! The size of the catfish was huge and the sides hit the spot! I had the sweet yams and potato salad. I also catfish nuggets that were flavored explosions in my mouth! I had to dabble in there dessert and sample the banana pudding and peach cobbler which was sweet and definitely completed the meal! The menus were not updated and I was saddened to see the daily specials no longer exist! Other than that Billy's southern pride is a great place to get authentic southern food and delicious fried catfish!

Driven by this place a couple of times, and finally decided to stop in. Let me say they did NOT disappoint. Everything was flavorful and in "heavy" portions. Totally worth the money. Compliments to the chef, he put his foot in this 10/10 would definitely recommend. I will be back

I'm from Louisiana, so I know good Southern comfort food.Billy's is 100% Legit! Everything I've had here tastes like home.You can't go wrong, and the catfish is the best in town.Be aware, the dining area closes at five, open for takeout until six PM.

My dad and sister have eaten here a few times but I had not. They took me here for dinner and I loved it all. I ordered the rib dinner with red beans and rice and candied yams. It was all very good. The owner is such a nice guy. He even made some candied yam bread and put some in with the dinner for free and it was awesome. Will be back for more.​

My Son bought food from this food truck on 4:20. The flyer claimed it was bbq AND Southern Soul food. It was NONE of that! The Sausages were cooked on a griddle; NO BBQ! EVERYTHING tasted fishy AF; including the Coleslaw! Then there was the Mac-n-cheese; soggy with NO flavor! We didn't eat ANY of it; we threw it ALL out! It truly was the nastiest food I have EVER tasted!

No indoor seating so we just left. Looks good but no place to sit so we took our business elsewhere
