Bighorn Bistro & Bar

I come here regularly to eat the Dali sandwich with Vegan bread which is a no tuna salad made with chickpeas.Always grateful for restaurants with not only vegan but well thought.They have a vast variety of breakfast selections, definitely need to give it a try.

Date of visit: February 14, 2025While staying at the resort on a snowy Valentine's Day, my friend wanted to venture out but I wasn't all that hungry or interested in battling the weather and opted for a night inside instead, but maybe he was right.We did not have a reservation and Brian the host was both accommodating and extremely frazzled. It seemed like the restaurant was a bit understaffed but I couldn't tell from all of the staff roaming around the restaurant and bar area. Our server was Michael from KCMO who was nice enough when we actually saw him, he did not make many appearances during our time at Bighorn, sadly.They had a piano player who was fine enough, but I actually preferred it when he wasn't playing as it just made it easier to talk . Had there been an option, I would have preferred something further from the piano, but given the lack of reservation I was not going to protest! Not being super hungry I went with a soup and salad. The soup sounded wonderful: Sweet Potato Bisque. It was not wonderful. It didn't really taste like sweet potatoes and once the crispy coconut topping was gone, so was the magic. However the Caesar salad was quite good; had I known this I would have just gone with a dinner version of this and called it a night!

Good spot to get dinner, however, nothing is truly special/revolutionary. The menu is pretty limited, and although my dish was delicious, others in my party were disappointed. Service was great, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming!

This bistro is inside keystone lodge and resort. I give the service a 10/10 and the food came out quickly! I was disappointed in the size of the menu, and lack of vegetarian options here. I would love to see at the very least a vegan burger option or something other than a salad. The food I did have was super tasty though! I ordered the beet and goat cheese flatbread and I was in love with how creamy the goat cheese base was. It was a little light on beets, but the balsamic and raspberry dressings were very flavorful! Prices were that of a resort restaurant and ran a little high of course, but you're paying for the convenience. But- If you're in a rush or lacking a vehicle/ looking for convenience this is a great option with well thought out dishes!

The food was honestly almost inedible. I ordered a Caesar salad with steak. The caesar dressing tasted horrible - it was oddly spicy and left a strange after taste. My husband had the salmon cakes and the flavors were a terrible mix. I am generally a non-picky eater and will eat almost anytime I'm served without complaint but the food served at this restaurant was awful. I gave 2 stars because the server was friendly and polite and the wine menu was decent.

The service was lacking, but I think that they were trying as best as they could. The food however was terrible! I'm not sure how you can mess up chicken wings and french onion soup, but they did it. The steak sandwich (was not sliced steak like every other place) it was a slab of mediocre steak on a hoagie, which was difficult to bite through and wasn't provided a steak knife. I would save your money and go somewhere else!

Food is terrible! Save your money and order a pizza! Worst $140 I have ever spent. Server was very sweet!

Only had time for a quick drink, but what a location! There's a nice bar and ample seating with Covid. The entire atmosphere is very rustic, and has a lot of fine dining options. There's a variety of entrees to choose, and several fun drinks to order too! I got the Grandmas' Spiked Hot Chocolate, a tasty blend of whisky and winter. I'll definitely be going back soon to try more food. I do wish they had more options for vegetarians besides a $25 Red Curry, but at least they are trying.

Food was terrible. Kids hamburger patties were burnt on the outside and raw in the middle. Salmon was overcooked and potatoes were undercooked.

Food is just amazing & varied. We went 2 or 3 times & were not disappointed. Watched very exciting & close Super Bowl here. Service was amiable & attentive... Went to swimming pool & indoor & outdoor hot tubs in sub zero temps. This was followed by astonishing culinary experience. The lamb was memorable. Just thinking about it makes me want to return.
