Big R Stores

We like this store a lot, the staff are always great, the location is convenient and they always seem to have the items we are looking for.

The chicks are back!! The employee said they get a new shipment of them each week. When we visited yesterday, they had different variety of chickens plus turkey babies, so adorable! The staff was cleaning up their bins and giving them fresh straw/food/water. We actually visited for the men's work pants since my husband keeps tearing his brand new pants at work. We found some wranglers that were labeled "technician" that weren't too heavy like most of the pants there. Hubby said he gets too hot and weighed down wearing them, although I'd love for him to have that extra protection (I'm just the wife, can't tell him anything am I right?!). We'll see how these hold up. We also wanted a flannel shirt but these were fleece-lined, again to hot for use in Texas. That's okay, we can hit up Cabelas when we get back home to the dirty south.The staff were great, we ended up standing in a long checkout line but it moved quickly. If you have feed or farming needs, hit up Big R!

Service, selection, value & customer service are the most important to me to continue shopping as frequently at the Big R in Fountain Colorado. I have shopped at this location for the last 10 plus years. I have not ever been disappointed with the service provided even on the most demanding of my days. All of the employees have gone above and beyond to meet my needs and requirements each and every time I shop which is weekly if not twice a week. I have gotten to be able to greet each employee by their first name. Not a single one has ever been unpleasant, rude, or dismissive of me. I find the selection to be better than most box stores. The prices are commensurate with other stores in this niche when it comes to feed, western wear or work clothing, hardware or sporting goods. The variety meets with my approval all year round. Even special orders are delivered within reasonable time frames and pricing. I just cannot say enough when it comes to the Big R store and its emlpoyees in Fountain Colorado. A five star shopping experience!

We buy a particular brand of dog food that is sold here so we go fairly often and every time the staff is friendly and helpful. The reason why I choose not to give 5 stars is because unfortunately the dog food we buy is often out of stock and we have to come back a few times to finally get out brand. I know these times are weird and all so we don't make a huge fuse but at times it can be very frustrating especially because it happens often. I would think if a particular brand is always out that they'd make sure to keep it stocked.

I want give a big shoutout to Rich and Francesca in the firearm section. Both being veterans, and exceptionally kind to gun newbie, like myself. Rich is always patient with me, asking a millions of questions, and I usually end up picking up a firearm that I am fully satisfied with. Rich always tell me to do my research and never buy a firearm in impulse. Francesca, helped me with a special rifle I was building and it turned out very well. I am very grateful to both Rich and Francesca.

This store has everything and it is very neat and clean. The problem is the prices! I couldn't get over how expensive things were here! I came from an area that has a Rural King and it was a great place to shop for boots and clothes, just about anything but this store is high dollar! If I win the lottery, I'll head in but until then, it was a one time visit.

I'm not going to rate Big R some stores are better than others. My problem is your recent flyer for your sale July 20th through July 24th 2023. Your add only has prices on a very few items. The rest is 20% off 10% off 25% off. I personally would like to see the price. I'm not going to make a trip to Big R for a sale if I don't know the sale price. In my opinion whomever designed this flyer needs to go back to school.

I have a walking disability that causes my shoes to squeak from now and then to most times, and I had 3 ladies yell at me telling me stop. I had a panic attack because they where yelling to each that "they are going to call that guy". The people here are unconsidered and very disrespectful.

I am a beekeeper and had two late-night bear attacks, so I needed to quickly learn how to install an electric fence. None of the local fencing people could help, the local beekeepers just commiserated, and the internet was full of conflicting information. Frank at Big R gave excellent advice (including telephone support) and helped me purchase the proper equipment. It worked and I feel quite comfortable, so I would recommend Big R for similar needs for beginners.

Called Store to see if they had a senior discount, I was told the 2nd Tuesday of each month they offer 10% off for seniors. Well I planned my hour drive fir the 2nd Tuesday, Bought 2 feed tubs costing $220, expecting to have a $22 discount -wrong!!!! The discount was a little over $8.When I inquired, the lady was very snarky & just laughed saying the discount is "up to %10".Additionally both employees I dealt with were far from helpful & borderline rude.
