I love the trails around Bear Creek nature center. There are really nice views of the mountain range on the higher trails. The nature center is informative and fun for kids. My son loves coming here to see the bees hard at work. The fall colors are pretty through here too, which make great family shots or portraits. It's a nice place to take a picnic lunch, and one of my favorite walks.

I'm so glad my friend introduced me to Bear Creek trails and the Nature Center! The trails are easy - we brought her kiddo with us! I loved all the informational signs throughout the trails and found myself learning as well. A lot of the trails are under the shade of the trees. It was such a peaceful getaway. The nature center is a great place for adults and kids to learn about the wildlife in the area. Their building hosts a play area for children and more information about the animals. They even have a live bee exhibit that is connected to the outdoors! Even MORE amazing- Bear Creek hosts summer "camps" where kids can learn more in depth about the nature and wildlife. My friend registered her other 2 kids for the third year in a row and I was able to watch how much fun they were having! It is recommended to keep an eye out for registration opening the winter before the summer you hope your kids to attend- registration sells out quickly!

Something for everyone interested in easy to moderate trails at Bear Creek Nature Center. Decking covers the easy trails: perfect for strollers and walkers. Head off onto dirt paths for hiking in brush, fields, and trees. Many benches to sit and admire the scenery including Bear Creek. Afterward take a drive up Gold Camp Road for incredible scenery. Make a stop at Helen Hunt Falls before descending to Cheyenne Blvd.

The Bear Creek Nature Center is an awesome place for families, especially those with young kids. There's a lot to enjoy and explore, and the trails are relatively easy while still providing beautiful views. Inside, there's plenty to do, with taxidermied animals, a beehive (more on this in a moment), and more. We've taken our young kids there several times, and have always found it to be a pleasant experience. The beehive in particular deserves a bit more attention. It opens to the outdoors so that the bees can collect nectar from flowers all around the area; however, the hive itself is entirely indoors, with clear plastic or glass (not sure which) walls encasing it. This allows you to watch the bees at work, which I personally find fascinating. It's a great place that I'd highly recommend!

This place is awesome! The staff are so friendly! They have an enclosed honey bees nest you can get up close to look at. It's a fun hike too. We scheduled a tour. It was the most fun with bets to catch and release.
