We stayed two (2) nights at Bailey Lodge in Bailey, CO. First impression was that it was an older lodge, and had not been recently updated for at least 10 or 20 years due to the outdated-looking linens, dirty carpeting, and the "landlord special" type paint jobs and caulking. The room was fairly clean, however, we did find that there were spider webs in the bathroom (with live spiders), dead bugs smashed and stuck to the ceilings and window sills, and the carpet was stained and needed a good vacuuming as there was dirt and pieces of dried mud. The welcome sheets were very cleverly written (by Misty we found out) and were a nice bonus. The beds were a bit stiff, and not all that comfortable, but they were made, and there were plenty of fresh fluffy towels for us to use. We did move the couch in the room closer to the fireplace (I guess this is unheard of by the owner from their reply, I mean who'd think people could want to sit and be comfortable in front of the fire), as we bought some duraflame logs to use in the fire (we were given 1 (not two as the owner has assumed as they always "can't find" any (depends who you ask, Scott said they had none but then when the lady who cleans the rooms heard we wanted one she was somehow able to make one appear out of thin air*), and when we did move the couch we found they do not clean behind/under it, as we found someone's vape pen, and a hair pick. The owner's reply says it is "too difficult" to move the couch and clean in it after every guest's stay, which I find disturbing. This means that any dandruff, trash, or fluids they leave behind are just sitting there on the couch waiting for the next guess. Gross. The room had a small kitchenette, with a double hotplate to use as a stove. The provided dishes were all mostly cleaned spotless, and they had all the basic necessities if you were to cook. However, the faucet of the sink broke off once during use, and caused quite the mess. We were able to fix it and clean the water up and it was fine afterwards, it just needed to be screwed down properly. The grounds are wonderful, and they have many hanging potted flowers, and hanging hummingbird feeders, so there are always a TON of hummingbirds flying to and from. They also have a pond that you can fish from, so long as it is only catch and release. The bad: Our heater went out once each night we stayed, sometime late and night, so we always woke up freezing cold. It was raining the entire time we stayed, so the temperatures dropped to the 40s at night. When we tried to call the office to get the heater fixed when we woke up, we found they don't have the office or phones staffed 24/7, and had to call the phone number provided to us about a million and a half times before a sleepy voice answered to help us out. *Edit: We're so sorry it was a big deal for the owner to have to wake up and get in the shower to come fix the heater that was supposed to have been working properly in the first place so we had a warm room to come back to when we were finished with work.Edit: Changed to 1/5 stars due to owner's response. They basically called us liars. Not the way to approach customer service. Instead of getting defensive maybe try to apologize for the issues we had, and ensure it doesn't happen to customers in the future. And yes, we did call them over and over again starting at 6am, as that is when we had to wake up and shower because we had to be at work by 7am, and our room was in the high 40s. Who'd have thought that when you get out of the shower you'd like to be warm, apparently a crazy concept for the lodge.I've also attached a screenshot of their "summer weather" during our stay. I'm sure most people won't find a 46 degree low anywhere near "tropic."Now when I come back to Bailey for business we will never return to the lodge. Good riddance.

Beautiful beautiful spot. At 1am in a snowstorm with frozen and broken windshield wipers, we waved the white flag and were looking for a place to crash. We found the Bailey lodge and pulled up. Luckily we were able to grab a room, were so thankful!Happens to be the most beautiful room with the friendliest people. It's such a great little spot. Our room was all decked out with wood furniture, beautiful pictures, comfy couch and even a wood burning fireplace (bring your own wood). We loved the setup so much we want to come back for a night or a weekend. There's a bunch to do, hiking in the summer, fishing, ski resorts close by. Scott took this place over a few years ago and has put a ton of work and energy into creating an amazing experience. He also has a beautiful pup whose fun to play with! I can't recommend this little lodge enough!

Pulled into the parking lot after driving during a terrible snowstorm. The woman working at the front desk was so sweet and honest when it came to our decision to stay overnight or get back on the road. We decided to stay and felt right at home. Cozy bed, spacious, and great customer service. She even turned the heat on for us after bringing us to our room. The rooms do have working fireplaces and we really wish we had wood to burn. Definitely a great spot if you're in need of a spontaneous adventure or just looking for a change of scenery not too far from the city!!

We attended a wedding in October and stayed overnight at Bailey Lodge. We thought the room was clean and comfortable. I left my phone charger and called the staff. They were pleasant and willing to mail it back to me. I am a flight attendant and stay in many hotels. I thought the lodge was a great choice and would be happy to stay there again.

We stayed at the Bailey Lodge this past weekend and it was AMAZING! The owners are on the property and are very friendly and accommodating. When trying to book on line, I was unable to book all three days so I left a message for the someone to call me back. Scott was very prompt in returning my phone call and moved people around so that we could stay all three days. I cannot say enough good things about these people and this lodge! It is very clean and comfortable! Thank you Bailey Lodge and WE WILL BE BACK! Elaine W

After an extremely long drive from SOCAL to Bailey the Bailey Lodge did not disappoint! In fact it was far better than their web site reveals. Great service while making the reservations! Very accommodating with our personal travel plans. The excellent service continued as we opened the door and discovered an immaculate room. Perfect for weary travelers. Far beyond what we expected, and a perfect setting for a mountain getaway! We look forward to staying at the Bailey Lodge again. Thanks much for the work you put into this place. R/SPete Dunning

What a gem! I love this place! Amazingly, this place is definitely not just another cookie-cutter room with a bathroom, it's actually a lodge accommodation with two-room suites, not counting the bathroom. As a former resort Bailey Lodge units each have a fireplace, couch, bar sink, fridge and other amenities, making it levels up from the ordinary. Mountain views out of the windows are wonderful! It's just off highway 285, a main mountain artery through Colorado which runs through some of the most scenic parts of Colorado's Rocky Mountains. As well, the North Fork of the South Platte river runs through the property where guests can fish the river or small lake on the property for trout. A Colorado fishing license is needed, however. At about the same price point as a urban hotel or motels in the city, finding this place was a genuine treat. It's got a homey, real western feel and it's "grandma's house" clean. BTW: If you crave pretense you can just keep going on to one of the ski towns another hour away and pay two to three times as much.
