This review is only for the property owner and conditions of the establishment and not the trainers at this location. With that said the owner has a horrible attitude, the horses were living in horrendous conditions, and you will be nickle-and-dimmed to death. I heard in the Denver equestrian community that the owner was difficult to work with and will charge you for breathing in her general vicinity but I was in a bind personally and didn't have a chance to shop for another place before my previous barn shut down. Needless to say my horse was living in his own manure covered in flies the whole time he had to be here. Other boarders, lesson riders, and even workers thought there were WAY too many horses in such a small area. However, as I learned myself, any concerns or discussions with the owner fell of deaf and foul attitude ears. The group turnout had 6-7 horses in about 1 acre. All other horses are in small enclosures for their 'pasture/turnout time'. That is your only option for $1400 a month (just board). When I put in notice the owner made sure to send me 5 invoices in a row, threaten to put a lien on my horse, and sent made up charges when we disagreed about a provision in the boarding contract (I pointed out that her definition of 'proration' is factually wrong-I happen to do equine law and knew I would win in court but seriously don't have time for dealing with volatile people who can't understand basic contract law). Make sure you get a copy of anything you sign and that everyone understands the terms, even if they seem straight forward and obvious (like the definition of proration) to avoid any issues. I've been in the equine industry for over 25 years in various parts of the country and abroad and this owner's behavior was so egregious and the horses living conditions were so poor I felt the need to write a review. And I am fully aware there will be many people who are friends/business associates who will comment and say I am completely wrong, etc. etc. but I, as a horse owner in the community, feel more at peace telling my truth for others to take into consideration when looking for a place to board and ride.

Aurum Equestrian is a stellar facility in Parker CO! It's fun, professional, laid back but provides all the amenities of a high end show barn! I run the H/J program out of Aurum and its a joy working at this property! No matter your riding goals you'll find a goal oriented, positive and well informed trainer to support your goals! Highly recommended!
