Aspen American Bar & Grill

Recommended by the bartender at the Marriott Courtyard next door, the food far exceeded my expectations and the waiter was wonderful! Don't let the Village Inn/Applebee's exterior fool you... this place is great.

First off the service was very good, the drinks were good, and some of there other meals tasted very good!The reason I give this restaurant a 3 is because of the steak. The ribeye I order was literally like 3/8" thick!! Are you joking? Coming from a menu where most of the entrée options are meat I expected way more! The ambiance was nice! But the place definitely felt a little dated.

The food was excellent. I tried the Indian menu and my husband had a burger. The burger was delicious and you could taste the charcoal. The habanero sauce had a nice kick to make it better. I was kinda nervous to try Indian food at this place, with so many items on the menu I wasn't sure if it would be made fresh or if it was old etc. I gambled and it was actually nice and tasted fresh. I only wish with an Indian dish they would give a piece of naan other than roasted vegetables which was mostly a broccoli stalk which wasn't edible.

My husband and I went to have lunch at this bar and Grill after hiking. It is a lovely restaurant with nice decor and very clean. The host and the waiter were very nice and attentive. My husband and I both had a different salad off their menu and they were very reasonable priced for the amount of food. My husband also had the scallop dish which she said was excellent. Would highly recommend!

Wow, it has been a while since I been very pleased at a restaurant with all aspects of the meal - service, food, drinks, atmosphere. The service we received from Ann was great, she took care of our table well, she made sure waters were full, if we needed more drinks, and to make sure all was well with our food. She was very friendly and had a great positive attitude. We ordered calamari for an appetizer and the table came with some bread. The bread was freshly baked. The calamari was very moist and soft yet crispy on the outside as it should be. It had great flavor. The dipping sauce however, was a tad bit too salty, this would be my only suggestion for the restaurant. The food I ordered, 12oz prime rib, was absolutely perfect. It was very flavorful, cooked to perfection, very tender and just perfect. The veggies were good and the loaded baked potato was a great side to pair with the prime rib and was also cooked to perfection, not dry yet tender and right amount of clumpy. One of the people in out party was sold on the Mahi Mahi special and was really disappointed but Ann took care of it and really quickly swapped it out for a prime rib which was the person's second choice. My partner's meal was very good too. He wasn't a huge fan of the mashed potatoes but the steak he had was perfect along with the veggies.I wish this place was closer, but I definitely will be back again. Definitely recommend this place. Ps the old fashioned cocktails are great too.

Great lunch specials and attentive staff!This location is not ideal for drop in guests. It is not easy to see from the road and not easy to approach - no entry is easily visible. It seems more meant for the people staying in the hotels nearby. We had seen it in passing but the reviews put us off slightly. Our neighbor ate there recently told us he enjoyed it, so we decided to try it. (We also had a $10 off coupon :-))We arrived close to noon And entered the warm (both literally and figuratively) establishment. It is well designed and comfortable, with a full, separate bar area, which has two or three big screen TVs.We were seated in a booth a little bit away from the door to keep us warm, although it was actually very warm in the restaurant. The host turned out to also be our server, Reynaldo. He took our drink order and left us to peruse the menu, which is fairly extensive. We decided to share a Patron Perfect Margarita, and some queso dip. My husband chose to order the chicken salad while I got the Oriental chicken salad as our entrées.The teas arrived quickly, as did the margarita, which was very strong and quite tasty. The queso and chips arrived soon after. It was white cheese with poblanos and very tasty, especially for a non-Mexican restaurant. We gobbled up the chips and salsa (a few more chips might've been good to have), and our entrées soon arrived. The salads were huge! My husband's chicken salad came in a large bowl with the dressing on the side (he ordered the Italian dressing.) my Oriental chicken salad was on a plate and was beautiful! The chicken was sliced into thin planks, and grilled on both sides. It was topped with crispy rice noodles, which I will probably forgo if I order it again. Both were beautifully plated and both tasted wonderful.Reynaldo stopped by often to check on us and refill our iced teas. The manager also stopped by to be sure we were enjoying our meal. The lunch specials looked great, and were reasonably priced, but we were both in the mood for salad. We overheard other patrons, stating how good their steaks were, so I hope to return and try a steak next time.

Honestly I would probably give them 5 stars but all I ordered was a Grilled chicken Caesar and Ham & Bean Soup. Both were excellent! The soup was nicely seasoned, no need to add pepper or salt. Seem pretty fresh too. The Caesar was a healthy portion and not overly dressed (which is a good thing). The staff were extremely pleasant and responsive. Love to go back and try an actual entree.

Aspen American Bar & Grill is such a great place that has become a staple in our family's restaurant rotation! We have been to Aspens a few times now and have not had one complaint. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is nice, and the service is amazing. I recommend the prime rib (available on the weekends), their calamari appetizer (the habanero dip is *chefs kiss*), and for dessert the tiramisu! We've tried other dishes such as the cod, chicken Jerusalem, chicken Marsala, and ribeye, all great choices, I feel like you can't go wrong! The staff is always super friendly and personable. Do yourself a favor and try it out for your next night out! It's a great place for a family meal or a date night!

The food was terrible. I ordered the New York steak medium rare. It was over cooked on the outside and raw in the center. The vegetables were okay. The loaded backed potato was okay but the toppings were sparse. I had also ordered spinach and artichoke dip. There was not enough cheese so the artichoke taste was very strong. This was a takeout order so I cannot comment on service or ambiance.

Well food the food is so nice definitely ! The service is so kind ! Super nice ! Love aspen it's the best
