Went with a large group of colleagues and clients, and had a great time. Alyssa, our host and the proprietor of this here establishment, was absolutely fabulous!I'd always held a measure of skepticism about these sort of places, but now I'm a convert. As it turns out having some wine, beer, and fantastic hors d'oeuvres (from the neighboring Indulge Bistro) while painting for fun and listening to some good tunes is very relaxing. Something I could see doing more often! It was almost therapeutic to just zone out and see what you end up with. There were some in our group who felt they had needed more direction in hindsight. However, Alyssa was always ready and willing to provide guidance so my advice is don't be shy to ask for help if you feel like you need it. In her introduction, she did provide an overview on how to get started along with a couple basic techniques. She was walking around offering pointers and compliments the whole session. To be fair, she was also serving drinks to the 20 of us and did an excellent job all around.

Art on the Brix has a really cool "open studio" on Tuesdays (less than $30). I had a great time there, the owners were very accomodating. It was a very relaxing experience, totally open-minded, and a lot of fun! Highly recommended to anyone in the greater Denver area for a visit to try the "open studio". I was surprised that the cost was so low when let you take your canvas with you, which is moderately sized. This would be an absolute blast to come with a group of ~10 people. They have a "paint your date/mate" night - where you can do a portrait of the person you come with. Sounds like a blast - I fully hope to get back there. Beer/wine is available for purchase too, at less than restaurant prices. My only complaint, is that it's hard to find. If you enter from the main street, there's minimal street presence. There's a small sign out front, so don't look for a large window near their address. You need to follow down a hallway before you arrive at the studio. I think it's possible to get there faster from the back side of the studio? Anyway - give yourself time when trying to find the studio.I was surprised to see that other reviews posted were less positive. Reaction to other reviews:--"better suited for someone with painting experience": I've never painted before, and was entirely not intimidated by the environment. I felt no qualms trying funky patterns!--"cancelled birthday party": this definitely sounds like a nightmare. My experience was very unstructured (dropping in to an open studio), so this was not a problem. The staff was very friendly and provided help whenever needed.

Went Wednesday night with a friend to "paint your pet". You email them a photo of your pet, they sketch it on canvas, and you paint it! It's one of the best classes I've seen out there since the painting is so personalized. It's also a bit more expensive than other classes because of the extra work that goes into it ($50). I think this class is better suited for people who have painted a couple times, or more. Next time I'll try a class where we're all painting the same thing, so it's harder for me to mess up. When all the pets look so different, it's hard for them to help you mix paint colors and walk you through every step. Some of the paintings were AMAZING and you could definitely tell these people had inherent artistic skills. People were looking at mine and smiling politely... haha. My painting is no masterpiece, but it sorta-kinda looks like Izzy. My fiance laughed at it when he saw it, but it was the first painting I've ever done! The instructor was helpful, and she went around to everyone giving them pointers and tips. The class included a drink, and they had little appetizers (mini meatballs, cheese, crackers, grapes, peanut M&M's!!!!!, hummus). It's a really cute space, and a fun thing to do with friends. Definitely recommend!P.S. There is a garage with free parking right behind the studio.

I've been here twice, once for a canvas painting class and once for wine glass painting. Both classes were AMAZING! Step by step instructions, even those less creative folk can have a great time. The ambiance is casual and very supportive :-) Thank goodness.

This place is really cool. HOWEVER... if you aren't extremely flexible, don't sign up. I had a reservation for my daughter and myself to go for her birthday. Despite the fact that the website says they will contact you 24 hours in advance if they need to cancel, they notified me (by TEXT, not phone...rude) 45 minutes before the event that they were cancelling. I don't care WHAT business you are, this is disgustingly unacceptable. This is a horrible way to do business and I will absolutely NEVER EVER GO BACK. We will go to Cocktails and Canvas instead.

We had a horrible experience today we painted llamas with Aylissa ( the owner) that was what was supposed to be a private event for my party instead the party was open to the public, the instructor was intoxicated during our class the instruction was less than adequate there was no help from the instructor in fact she didn't even come look at most of my groups art until she took the picture at the very end. We used to love Art on the bricks and we have been there more than 10 times but this experience will be our last and I recommend that you try any other painting place besides this one, this trip we also did not get any free beverage or wine because it's now mobile unit. the paint is completely different and the color choices were limited to say the least and all of that was still for the same price as a used to be. There was also no parking you couldn't see the instructor or the instructor's painting she had several llamas to choose from but only instructed on 1.

Super fun! The instructor is so sweet and calming. She owns the art gallery and she just exudes this pure happiness of being able to do what she loves for a living. Some of the other patrons were a bit snobbish and split between two tables. We had a group of 4 and they un-apologetically refused to readjust to allow us to sit together. Thankfully a group that was doing their own thing left right before out class started, so we were able to get up from the corners of the room and reconvene together. I was visiting home from where I live now and if I couldn't have painted with my loved ones I wouldn't have enjoyed myself as much as I was able to.

I have painted at this wonderful place now four times and will be attending my fifth class on Sunday (Paint Your Pet). I am not very creative or artistic, however, I have been thrilled with all the paintings I have done (all Paint Your Pet). I love the space, the instruction, the instructor (Alyssa) and have been to many other painting places and none compare to Art on the Brix! I keep saying I am going to branch out one of these days and try one of the other classes (thinking the new eiffel tower)! Thank you for this wonderful business, and I look forward to painting after stress-filled weeks at work. THE BEST!!!!!!!
