What a really wonderful park! There's a huge grassy area great for parties or other gatherings and a playground for the youth. The most apropos thing and namesake of this park are the lyrics to "America the Beautiful" song as well as interpretations set in tall stones. The song was written in Colorado in 1893! How cool is that?! In this area, there are places to sit and reflect. It's very peaceful! This area is to the right side of the grassy circle. The park also has a large upright circular sculpture called Continuum, which is actually a fountain. It was off the day I was there. It is the Julie Penrose Fountain. This is one of the largest sculptural fountains in the United States, it stands over 4 stories tall and weighs more than 24 tons! Continuum has 366 water jets spraying water that is then captured in the spiral river below. The piece slowly turns as well, completing four rotations per hour. It really would have been spectacular to see it in action! There is a bridge which links the park to the Olympic Museum. You can take the stairs or use the elevator. I chose the elevator and the A/C was blasting! I stayed in there for a while to cool off before heading a few steps to the overlook. You get a great view of the entire park! Then I walked across the bridge to get a look at the Olympic Museum. The Park Union Bridge is pretty cool in its' own right! There were not very people hanging out at the park. There was a group setting up to play some Christian Music. That was neat! Not sure what the event was. I didn't ask.Parking is ample along both sides of the road on Cimino Dr. and it is free. If the park is busy, I'm sure parking could be an issue.I would definitely return to this park again! Hopefully that fountain will be working!

Came by this park to let our kids get out some energy out during a visit to Colorado Springs. A nice variety of play structures and a big green area with beautiful views. Unfortunately it didn't seem to be in the best area and there were quite a few homeless around the park and bridge that connects to the museum. There was also a lot of leftover and half eaten food left around the picnic tables and the playground. There seemed to be a lot of joggers and bikers around using trails but the park itself wasn't very busy. I'd venture to say there are better parks around the area to take your kids to...

This park has great playsets and is right across from the Olympic Museum. There are some trails in the back that run by some bridges and the highway overpasses. I haven't seen the fountain running, but I can imagine it would be awesome. The playgrounds are great and have a bit of an obstacle course on one side with some items for smaller kids, swings, and slides. There is also a lot to do nearby once you leave the park. The only negative to this park is that it has a lot of homeless people. They have always kept to themselves whenever we've visited and we've never had any issues.

The park itself is nice, but it isn't in the best area. It was a bit sketchy driving to the park, through an industrial area and a large homeless population. In the park, there is a nice running path (which I would want a partner to run on), large grassy areas, large covered picnic table area and lots for the kiddos to play on. There was a bunny family in the nearby lot that hopped their way through the park as well. While safe to go during the day, I wouldn't go here after dusk.

A nice park to take a stroll at, or to bring the kids to for a nice day out, but definitely not something worth going out of your way to see if you're just visiting from out of town. There is a large grassy field, as well as a playground, so definitely a plus for those looking for a place to bring their children. However, a portion of the park looks like it's under construction, so some of the walking path is blocked off. The fountain also doesn't seem to operate anymore, and it wasn't turned on while I was there, nor does it look like it's been turned on in a while.

This park is pretty nice. Great Mountain View's and a nice walk along with trails leading out. My wife and I would walk there in the mornings and it would be empty, so it was extremely lovely. I appreciate how clean and neat it is kept. Nice big area to also have picnics in the grass, etc. I would recommend this park to many and all. They also have a playground for children.

Great city park. Come here during the summer with the kids and having them play at the Julie Penrose Fountain...open when the weather is hot from 11am to 5:30pm I think. Parking is free, access to the park is free and the water aspect of the park is priceless! The fountain fills a void in C. Springs as there are no water parks (not that I know of). For kids around 2 years of age or older, this place is perfect. There is also a large grassy area, a playground on the northern end of the park, a pavilion and public restrooms. America the Beautiful Park also holds concerts and festivals throughout the summer so check out the web for information.

I love this park, especially in the summer when the Farmer's Market start & they turn the water on for the kiddos. I also bring my dog here to play. Lots of trails & ways to get a good workout too.Serenity.

Cute park. It's in honor of The song which was written at Pikes Peak. There is water to play in on a hot day, one pavilion to rent, a nice play ground, and a big open area to play. Wheelchair friendly. There are bathrooms but I didn't go in them. It has a great view of the mountain.Down sides- it's in a ghetto location, homeless sleep everywhere, even during day hours, you can also see and hear the train, and a factory. I won't go back because we didn't feel safe. It's a real disappointment because it has great potential.
