A Piece of Cake Catering

I cannot say enough about Jason and his crew. They made this portion of my daughters wedding stress free! The food and service were wonderful. I couldn't be happier.

Jason and his team were awesome to work with from booking to wedding day! They were a preferred caterer at our venue, The Edgewood Inn, and I know why. First of all, Jason is so on top of things. He made me feel confident from our first phone conversation and was always great at following up in a timely fashion. Secondly, the food is SO good! I'm dairy-free which I thought would be a challenge and we also had gluten-free, vegan, and even a garlic-free guest attend the wedding. They went above and beyond to accommodate ALL of the allergies. Our tasting was incredible and allowed us to make informed selections for our buffet. We went with the diamond buffet which is very affordable (seriously, this caterer is a hidden gem and the absolute best value you're going to find in the Colorado Springs area) and they allowed us to add a couple more appetizer options a la carte at a very reasonable cost. All of our guests loved the food, but the real cherry on top with them is their CAKE! We had the lemon cake with blueberry filling and buttercream frosting. Neither of us are huge cake people and didn't think much about it but both of us LOVED this cake and our guests are still raving about it weeks later. I will definitely be ordering all special occasion cakes through them from now on! On our wedding day they arrived on time, service was fantastic and they even plated meals for us (the bride and groom) so we didn't have to worry about going through the buffet line. I was so touched when our server, one of their chefs, handed me my plate with a pasta on it that I thought for sure would have dairy but he had made it SPECIAL for me without dairy!!! It was the main thing I ate and I loved it! It was so kind of them to do that. They also boxed up all of our leftovers so we could take them home and we are still enjoying them weeks later (thank you freezer)! Their service also includes set up which is awesome! I highly recommend A Piece of Cake to all Colorado Springs/Denver couples looking for fantastic food, service, cake at a super reasonable price! Thank you Jason & team for making the meal and cake at our wedding reception truly memorable and delicious!!

I really, really wanted to give Jason and his team a positive review. Truth is, they weren't horrible but if I could do it over again, I would. I guess you pay for what you get, but at $1200, I thought I would get more. Jason was not receptive to my calls/emails/texts until it was time for me to pay our balance, then he responded right away. I asked for an itemized receipt and got a texted photo of a poorly put together bill. I asked for small placards in front of each dish of food and did not get those either. I also requested numerous times specific kinds of bagels (the good stuff - onion, garlic, everything - to go with lox) and did not get ANY of those. Instead, my guests were spreading lox on their strawberry and cinnamon raisin bagels. Not cool. The cupcakes were a hit which is why we stuck with A Piece of Cake in the first place. If you're not interested in cupcakes, go somewhere else.

These guys were great! Great options of flavors and fillings and they really work with you financially. We made payments on the cake for our wedding and it worked out great. They delivered the cake on time and it was beautiful as well as delicious. I'm really impressed and thankful, my next big gathering I need a cake for, I'll be back for sure.
