CM Korean Fried Chicken of Evanston

I love the vibe as soon as you walk in! You feel like just letting your hair down. Everyone is so nice and friendly! Now let me get onto my FAVORITE wing of all time,Honey Garlic Wings!!!! For those of you that don't know I LOOOVVVVEEE garlic. I am a fan of the sweet and savory so when I came across these wings, I fell in love! There are so crunchy. The honey garlic sauce is so balanced. They're rich and sweet. I can't keep on. I came into today and got some as soon as I got off work. I'm about to eat them now! Everyone should check this place out. You will not be disappointed!

I love KFC so I celebrated seeing CM open near me. I used the kiosk put my order for garlic soy half chicken and onion rings in. I noticed that the video display had the honey soy option that was missing from the kiosk. I asked to change the order and luckily they were able to. It took about 10 minutes to get the food. The half order is near 8 pieces. Super crispy and there's some pieces of batter with all the flavor. The flavor is good and spicy as well. My only complaint is that my chicken was a little dried out. Maybe it's the double fry?The onion rings are quite good. I would definitely recommend them It's a little pricey but I think you get what you pay for.

So excited to finally have a CM Chicken in Evanston! This is my favorite Korean fried chicken chain. I've been passing by this store front as it was being set up these past few months excitedly waiting for its grand opening. They just had their soft opening this weekend and I knew I had to come. The store has two ordering kiosks which is great because I prefer this method of ordering. We were greeted upon entering by an employee and he was very nice and helpful. We sat down and waited for the order. I got the 8pc snow chicken and it was as great as I remembered. It also came with pickled radish which is the perfect side. They could do with maybe a few more tables and chairs, but they also did just open so I'm not going to fault them for that. They had fantastic food and service and that's just their second day being open! Super happy for this addition to Evanston.

This is the eighth location in the state. This is a different owner from the others. I had their French Fries. The staff & service is wonderful.PS. The sandwiches are not sold separately.

Dined in on a Saturday night. Firstly, the food and ambience were decent and met my expectations - at least in terms of quality, temperature, freshness and taste. No wait (as we were the only customers).However, value and service were both below average. Specifically, counter guy missed one of the items we ordered and did not add it to our order because they misunderstood us asking about the ingredients of one of the entrees as canceling it. We didn't realize it until 10 minutes after our food was brought to the table. I went back and asked about the fried rice dish and they said "Oh, I thought you cancelled it." SMH. Sigh. OK. Never mind.Something annoying you should be aware of: they charge you a 3% "convenience fee" if you pay by credit card. This just screams greedy/shady IMO. The bill was just over $48 for two orders of wings, 1 order of fries and two canned beverages from the refrigerator. Guy tried to charge us for a bottle of Aquafina because my son asked for water. They have a big container of in the form of a self-service water cooler - yet he assumed Aquafina bottled water. No. So you get a teeny little plastic cup (think Dixie Cup) to use with the self serve jug. SMH. But the "convenience" fee? If anything it's more convenient for the restaurant to not have handle cash - yet they punish the customer for paying by credit card. Sorry, but that's wrong. I've not seen this at any other restaurants. IMO, it's nothing more than opportunistic scam. Unfortunately that was the most memorable thing about the visit. I don't envision going back.

Went to CM Chicken since I'm a fan of Korean chicken and always enjoy supporting local businesses. Sadly I likely won't be going back based on the quality of the food. I opted to get a curry chicken sandwich with fries, and a Korean style corn dog. Going past the burnt bun on my sandwich I was rather alarmed that there was a bone in chicken wing alongside the two strips. On top of that, I was a tad disappointed with the smattering of fries alongside my chicken that I paid an extra $2 for. The Korean dog also left me unimpressed since the cheese was not melted through at all, and I ate this a mere 6 minutes after ordering it. So yeah, I wanted to like CM Chicken and have this be another go-to chicken spot for when I want lunch, but overall it was really disappointing.

Spicy garlic chicken is amazing; I am a hot sauce/spicy food fan and I was in pleasant pain and the flavor is excellent. Very friendly and fast service as well.

Came here recently and got two bowls of rice and the garlic soy chicken with green onions. It was definitely spicier than expected. To be honest, I have had a lot of korean fried chicken. This chicken was not very tender but the flavor was okay. We had to pay for rice and any additional side dishes also require money. Price is a bit high for the amount and quality you get. The inside of the restaurant is nice, but not sure if I would go here when there are other korean fried chicken places (Bonchon).

Can't resist CM chicken when I see the store. The chicken is consistently good as the Lincolnwood location and it is as expensive as I recall it but worth it in every way. This time I tried the Wasabi Green Onion mixed with signature wasabi-lemon dressing and the curry tikku chicken. They were perfectly fried, not over breaded, and cripsy. The skin was very tasty and the meat was well seasoned and juicy. The only thing I would change is still with my usual sauces, which is spicy garlic and red hot. The Wasabi Green onion sauce is a bit too sweet for my liking, but I understand why that flavor is appealing. Curry was good too, but it was a bit subtle on the spice and I like the spice to come through louder. Didn't like the overly sweet pickled radish, but that's complimentary with the order.Be patient as they prepare you food fresh, which is approximately 20-30 min without any customers in the restaurant. Pro-tip order in person or in the store kiosk for cheaper price. Ordering online is about $5 more expensive per whole chicken order.

I usually don't write reviews, but this one definitely deserves one. The food was great, tasteful, and the staff were friendly as well. I can assure you that this chicken is worth every dollar. I will definitely revisit soon!
