Best Halal Spot in San Diego! One of the very few places i can eat at, and it is worth it by far of all the halal spots! The chicken is to die for! My husband and I love how juicy the chicken is and especially how it's breaded perfectly and spices are amazing! Our son who is not a big fan of eating food from outside, he goes crazy for their Mac n cheese! This is officially our family place! We just ordered an 8 piece mixed box, chicken tenders, Mac n cheese, mash potatoes, wedges, spicy chicken sandwich, and sodas for only $45 and delivery as well! Best prices and best food ever! When we have eaten there the service is superb! They not only made us feel super welcome! They made our toddler feel part of the experience and the ambiance there is such a good vibe and super clean and not loud! We officially love this place

Really solid chicken sandwich spot. Only been once so far but will definitely be back. The spicy chicken sandwich was fried really nicely. A light and crunchy batter and nice moist chicken on a nice quality bun. Overall it had an interesting flavor that I couldn't quite pinpoint, but was really nice (almost coconutty and sweet even though that's got to be totally wrong?). I will say, the spicy was not nearly spicy enough for me, though. Please make that spicy much spicier!! :DGot the spicy Mac n cheese as a side. It was nice. Also not terribly spicy, but I think was an appropriate amount for Mac n cheese. Would be really good with some extra crispy chicken batter pieces crumbled on top for some texture ;). The staff was super friendly and it feels like a very neighborhoody spot. If the owner reads this, I found the menu pretty confusing to immediately understand. Could just be me, but I would look into doing a redesign that makes it easier to read at a glance. Otherwise I love your restaurant :).

I really like this spot! They are not your traditional fried chicken place. They have some spices imported from Japan, which makes it a little more unique.I tried the tenders, spicy mac n cheese, chicken sandwich, and potato wedges. The chicken was very flavorful and so crispy. The mac n cheese was very creamy and the crowd favorite among my group. Service was very fast and efficient. I need to go back soon!

This is the HOTTEST new chicken spot in San Diego! The light breading is absolutely perfect, and the juicy tenders are huge!! I couldn't help myself and ordered a family combo to make sure I had leftovers. The potatoes and gravy were delicious and I enjoyed the light traditional style cole slaw. The Hillcrest sauce was my favorite... I'll be cluck'n and sip'n again for sure!

YALL this fried chicken joint is amazing!!! Cluck n Sip is an Asian inspired fried chicken shop. It serves your classic chicken, sandwiches, and sides but with a flavor-packed Asian twist. I dropped by recently, lured in by the banner proclaiming a $7.99, 2-piece meal deal. The restaurant was very clean and service was so friendly and helpful. I ordered and my food was ready pretty much as soon as I finished deliberating over fountain drinks. It came in the CUTEST reusable bag with their logo, what a nice touch!I got the 2pc spicy meal with a leg and a thigh, with a side of potato wedges, and the hillcrest sauce. Their meals also come with a piece of buttered toast. Everything was neatly packaged, with sauces and utensils in little paper bags. As soon as I got in the car I knew I was in for a treat. I was basically hotboxing mouthwatering spices in there my whole drive home. I snuck a potato wedge and those babies were fried to perfection! Flavorful with the perfect mealy interior. With this chicken, all I can say is it was love at first bite. The breading was NOT overly heavy, the chicken was so juicy and tender, and most importantly the SPICE was so unexpectedly delicious. It's not straight up heat like Dave's hot chicken, but more like a flavorful spice mix! It reminds me of the spicy powder I like to use to dip lamb skewers, and I definitely taste the Asian influence. The hillcrest sauce is similar to the creamy sauce that every chicken place has nowadays, but I think it was less cloying than some of the ones I've tried. With the buttered toast I assembled a sandwich with sauce, potato wedges, and meat, and lemme tell you that first bite was INSANE. For $7.99 this was a pretty good deal !! They give a TON of potato wedges, and I only got the regular size for my side. I cleared my plate and was definitely stuffed and immensely satisfied afterwards. Cluck n sip has other deals (see my pics) so I will definitely be back to take advantage of them!

I've been craving fried chicken for months now. Was so desperate that I went to KFC and ate out of a bucket. I was just walking by and saw all the awesome reviews - and well deserved!! Fresh Fried Chicken - key word - FRESH. Like your G-ma makes - but better because they have delectable sauces: Hillcrest Hot punches a sweet hot chili that leaves your mouth buzzin'. The chicken is fried to perfection and served hot to your table. That's never happened to me at those 'other' places. Big fat pieces of chicken - nice portions!!Staff was incredible - these guys hustle for such a tiny place. Awesome recommendations. Can't wait to come back!

A small hole in the wall in an extremely small strip mall. Gives food court vibes, and at a fast food price point. The kitchen and dining areas are extremely clean, and the service fast and friendly. I ordered a chicken sandwich, to compare it to the mother of all fast food chicken sandwiches, the one at the chain that is reminiscent of someone who eats spinach. The sandwich here did not disappoint - two large, lightly breaded chicken tenderloins that were extremely juicy. The breading was thin, and that's a good thing as it let the chicken shine. When I ordered, the cashier sensed that it was my first time in the shop and suggested I get the Hillcrest sauce and pickles in my sandwich, and it was the perfect combo. There was more than ample chicken, and it was IMHO better than that at the spinach eaters place.

Never been here before and wanted a chicken sandwich. I got the Classic Sandwich Combo with Mac N Cheese. It was very good. Two pretty thick chicken strips made the sandwich easy to cut and half and enjoy. The sauce on it was not overpowering and didn't take away from the chicken taste. Mac n Cheese tasted more homemade than not. Also got an order of potato wedges. Very thick and full. The food arrived warm still and neatly packaged. They went above and beyond to ensure the order made it to me without getting damaged. Would order again or go in person!

This is the best fried chicken I've had in San Diego, incredible breading and the Sichuan seasoning on the spicy chicken is delicious. The staff is exceptionally friendly. We came in with 0 expectations and left with 4 items of merch.The crunch is perfect and the seasoning won't leave you disappointed, I would recommend bone-in for the juiciest chicken. We also really love the fried fish sandwich and fried chicken sandwich! The Hillcrest sauce is perfect and the potatoes wedges come out hot, fluffy, and crisp. For being a fried chicken restaurant with a fast food look, the vibe in here is very much a small neighborhood joint who is eager to take care of you with excellent food. Everyone is always sooo friendly and nice, and we always see the owner working in the back.

We ate there last night and really enjoyed it! I ordered the four piece chicken combo and my wife got the spicy strip combo. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the spice was unusual (which is good). I was told by an employee that it was Sichuan peppers. The potato wedges were delicious and although my wife didn't like the coleslaw, I did (although it was a little sweet). The Mac 'n cheese was a little overcooked but very cheezy. I'm going to try the spicy version next time. The price was very reasonable, around $35.00 For two combos and two bottles of water. The restaurant was very clean and our order was made fresh, not from a warming tray. We look forward to our next meal at cluck n' sip and trying some of the other items on the menu!
