Fantastic visit from start to finish !!I located this place on Yelp a few weeks ago. I was looking for a reputable b.o.b to support on my upcoming trip to Cleveland and this place fit perfectly!!Coincidentally, our gracious Lyft driver recommended this place yesterday. That was confirmation. Soooo, I made a reservation for 2 @ 2:30pm today.Upon entry, nice, calming, attractive decor.Nice African Art pieces, spacious dining area, and well stocked energetic bar area. Hubby and I ordered the following. Catfish Fingers: Lite, well seasoned, perfectly fried. I'm not a dairy girl due to allergies but the rémoulade that accompanied it was amazing !! Made in house too !!Salmon Bites: Tasty. Fried a little harder than I preferred. Went well w a side of BBQ Sauce.Turkey Chops (w House Potatoes & Collard Greens): Hubby absolutely loved his Turkey Chops. The sides were amazing as well. So plentiful. He had plenty to pack up to take. Baked Candied Yams: Sooooo good !! Plentiful and not too sweet. Perfect.The Zanzibar: OMG ! Well crafted. Each ingredient shined through. This beverage was so smooth and light. Amazing service and communication w Chareeka E (at the bar).She was absolutely fantastic front start to finish. She was very pleasant, attentive, and personable. She certainly enhanced our visit. She made great recommendations and made sure we wanted for nothing. I highly recommend this restaurant to any and everyone everywhere !! You will not be dissapinted !!Zanzibar, THANK YOU for being a quality neighborhood gem !!

First impression before we got any food was that the music was great. Kuddos to the aux cord holder!! There's a safari theme and one photo of Bourbon street that throws everything off but it's nice to look at I guess. I placed a To- go order and immediately regretted it. The one server was fast and food came out swiftly. I ordered the soul rolls, a veggie platter with macaroni and cheese, greens and candied yams, the catfish platter, a bread pudding and a mason jar beverage. Everything was seasoned well. Presented nice and bagged separately. It made for a lot to carry but I understand why it was packaged separately.

I love this place and I come here every time I come back home. The atmosphere is amazing and the staff makes you feel at home. I love that it's an upscale environment with down home hospitality. The food is always so good! Try the soul rolls, they're to die for. The kool-aid is delicious too.

I just had this for the first time and the food was delicious, but getting to it was not as easy as it should have been. Their website had a glitch going on and we called to make sure we could place a pickup order. We were told to ignore the website glitch and place the order then come in 15 mins to pick it up. There were issues on the phone once we went to place the order and call them to make sure they received it. The person didn't seem to understand the glitch or that the other employee told us that we could place the order still. Once we got there they were kind and gave us cornbread to make up for it. I ordered the gumbo and it was super yummy. It has a scoop of rice that is already in the gumbo. I would love to come back and try their other dishes

I attended an event hosted by Playhouse Square at this Zanzibar location and really enjoyed the staff was so nice, helpful and friendly. The ambiance is perfect for a chill evening and social events. The restaurant was clean. The food was delicious my fave was the catfish fingers they were fried and seasoned perfectly. I also had the blue lagoon drink which was a little too sweet for my liking but still tasty. I loved they gave me a to go mason jar. The parking was a little bit of a hassle due to being downtown but they provided you with a parking validation for $6 in the nearby garage. Unfortunately my ticket was not working and I had to go back in to get another one. Overall 8/10 experience I recommend checking them out!

Visited Zanzibar for lunch today. Upon entry, I seated myself at the bar where I was greeted by a gentleman and offered tap or spring water. I opted for spring water. He offered me a menu and explained some food options. Looking at the menu, there were ten $10 lunch specials. So I requested the catfish and sweet potato fries lunch special. A few minutes later, the waiter/bartender brought me a bottle of water and two muffins to sample. One was blueberry and the other was cornbread. They were both warm and delicious. A little while later, he delivered my lunch, which included a tiny bowl of soul corn and some dipping sauce. The sweet potato fries were hot and delicious. The catfish was also hot and delicious. The sauces paired well with the meal. The owner greeted me while I was dining.The service was very friendly and the food was excellent. When he brought the bill, I was confused because it said $18.45 and it included a 15% service charge. I thought I requested the $10 lunch special...guess not. Next time, I'll request tap water and maybe then I'll qualify for the $10 lunch special. I didn't leave a tip due to the 15% service charge.

For the life of the downtown location can NEVER get a pickup order correct!!! I drive over 45 minutes for this establishment and they always miss!!! Their food is delicious when it's correct!! I order jerk wings I didn't get sauce I ordered a red kool aid I got ice tea NO muffins!! The honey glazed chicken was good coulda had more glaze I guess I the scoop of macaroni and cheese it was burnt the yams tasted canned no flavor- I suggest you just dine in!!!

The food was exceptional, and the service was outstanding. I will definitely return for the shrimp and grits. The fried chicken was perfectly cooked, and I highly recommend trying the hot honey fried chicken--it's a must. Bre provided excellent service; she was polite, patient, and extremely helpful in suggesting her favorites. I will absolutely come back whenever I'm in town.

We drove over an hour to enjoy dinner in another state for date night. Upon arriving we waited in line after two people to be seated. No one ever came to the host stand. So we decided to just sit at the bar.After sitting for approximately 15-20 minutes the bartender gave us a menu and water. We ordered as soon as we got her attention again. Mind you the bar was not full. We did not get our shots until the food came out which was bogus. Because who drinks liquor and eats at the same time. We were only having one anyway. The jerk chicken was delicious as well as the fried green tomatoes. The Mac and cheese was not soul food it looked how it tasted similar to Kraft Mac and cheese. They were out of the turkey chops. I tipped appropriately because I am a bartender myself however it was not worth the amount I gave.

Excellent food, knowledgeable staff and smooth R&B in the background. Just a really nice vibe. Wish I would have known that they validate parking in the garage next to the restaurant. Will definitely visit again when I'm back in Cleveland. Oh and don't forget to try the Hennessy French Sidecar, it is terrific!
