Young Oriental Food & Gift Mart

Yayyy finally found my Filipino food market! Although not the biggest selection of products like other Filipino market, this one has your basic needs! It's also next to a Filipino restaurant so that's already a plus for me :) What can I say I just love food!

I am all about "hidden gems" and this place is one of them! Nestled back on a side street in a strip mall type building you wouldn't really look twice or know what this was unless you were looking for it! I have been to multiple oriental store's in Canton, Akron, and Cleveland and this by far has one of the biggest and best selections. During covid I got really into the homemade sushi and "thai" dishes and love to make them at home whenever possible. They have everything you could need for a perfect night in recreating some of the beloved dishes we all know and love! Some of my favorites are the Pho Broth Base, "fish cakes" aka Kani, the vast selection of frozen items, and the selection of soup spoons and chopsticks! The lady who works there is also very nice and helpful. If you don't see something ask, they probably have it!

Stepping into this market is akin to visiting The Strip in Pittsburgh! It's packed with Asian items: fresh, frozen, packaged, and lots of Asian food prep tools, bowls, etc. The workers are friendly and able to assist when your lack of language skills get in the way of reading labels or recognizing a food item. I was looking for a hot sauce called Gotchujang and got help when I could find nothing labelled as such (because I don't read Korean characters). I read another review complaining about the price of Siracha but it must have been mislabeled by the staff at the time because it was not high priced when I stopped in... They have great frozen meat items and dumplings, and everything to make your own kimchi!

Clean store and friendly service. I was able to find lumpia wrapper to make lumpia for my wife.

Even though I enjoy their foods and selection, I recently purchased a dozen of their Eggs rolls this past week... after biting down into one of them, I had bit down into a dime size emblem that said "GE", which we found out later came off of the fryer and into my egg roll... result! Chipped tooth... When we "returned" the GE dime size emblem, and told them of what happened, they were helpful and very kind... plans to repair the tooth is in the works, and they offered to pay for the damage. I"m a fan of this place, because of the good food, but now, because of the owners who work there... Full of heart and the Joy of the Lord. Thanks Maria!

I had just went there for the first time the other day and was blown away by all the selection of Asian food and utensils plus your cooking gear. I'll definitely be going back.

Lots of variety, great prices. Fresh fruits & veggies in season. Ice creams, bubble tea mix, and lots of other things to try.

This place was one of the better asian stores I have ever been in and it's all because the owner was so kind to me showing me around letting me sample food they have a huge variety of Asian food from all over asian It was nice to find a store like this in ohio I look forward to returning very soon the kim chi is awesome

I recently moved here - thank God for this place. They have everything you need to cook a good Korean meal: bean sprouts, tofu, spices, seasonings, veggies, etc. They also have an array of frozen goods, such as dumplings and such, and they also have fresh veggies, chips and other asian goods. They store is very clean and organized (nothing is expired). Bonus: Young is so friendly, nice and welcoming! I'll definitely be back and this will be my go-to for all my asian goods!

Very nice owner, carries the basics that i need for a Filipino meal. Expensive but it's really close to home.
