Yemen Gate Restaurant

Had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while now and finally made it. It was such a great experience and didn't disappoint! The service was great and the food simply delicious. A real home meal that will warm up your soul. Also, the portions are super generous and we would have had plenty if we had shared just one plate. Their soup with lemon is delicious, their Rashoosh Bread is so addictive you won't stop eating it and their chicken hanneth is extremely tasty and good too!

We have been wanting to try this place for a long time and finally made the time to come visit last week. For those fans of authentic Mediterranean food, this is the place for you! Located on the east side, this little gem is not in the nicest of neighborhoods but don't let that fool you. The food here is outstanding. Parking is limited and more can be found on the side street next to the building. It appears that more people order out here than eat in, but that just meant that we had better service. Our waitress, Sarah, was friendly and warm. We explained that we had never eaten Yemenite food before and she made some great recommendations. Sparsely furnished, the interior was clean, quiet and cool. We ordered the hummus with bread to start, and the soup. My husband had the lamb haneeth and I had the chicken Mandi. He enjoyed a limeade (it reminded us of a non-alcoholic mojito) and I had hot tea. We are already planning our next. Is it back and who to bring with us. The food was delicious, the meat was tender, we had tons of left overs, and the hummus and bread were some of the best we've ever had.

I got takeout from this place on Easter and wow, so delicious! The lamb soup was perfectly seasoned and while it is just broth, it was very satisfying and a bargain at $2. The foul was the best I've ever had. The Lamb Haneeth was fall off the bone tender, and perfectly, exotically spiced. The hot sauce that came with it was both flavorful and truly hot.What a great meal--definitely a great find. Go-you won't be disappointed!

Great food and excellent tea. We had the Lamb Haneeth, the rice had a exotic and gentle aroma. The lamb was mildly spiced.The Chicken Kabsa also tasted delicious. They have a fairly wide menu, and I chose these entrees after consulting the server.The tea had a great aroma as well, which I'll ask about next time.Simple-looking place with excellent food. Definitely worth multiple visits.

Fabulous food. As often happens in restaurants with phenomenal food, there's not much to look at-- the restaurant is plain and clean. I only had eyes for my food anyway. We delight in trying all the ethnic foods we can, but we've never had anything quite like this. Everything was fragrant with tantalizing spices. The bread was crusty and soft, the lamb fall-apart, the rice unbelievable. The server fit the restaurant, too. This place is a gem. Take some hot tea to go.

Extremely forgettable dining experience I can't even tell you what I had or what happened. So I'm giving you an average rating.

The food here was pretty good. Our waitress was amazing and very attentive. I had one of the chicken dishes and the chicken was very moist and was falling off the bone. Here for lunch. A little pricey for lunch. No lunch menu so only dinner prices and dinner sizes hence the 4 star review.

Saw a video on Instagram by a food blogger recommending this restaurant and it did NOT disappoint! We had the hummus and bread, the best in CLE! We also shared the salad and had the grilled half chicken and a lamb and rice dish. This was the best middle eastern food we've had in the entire CLE area! The server was wonderful and provided great service. We felt so welcomed and well taken care of. Our new favorite restaurant! You have got to try!

If you want REAL Arab/yemeni food this is the place to come. This place is owned by a Yemeni so rest assured as its authentic food. The service is outstanding here, there was a nice lady taking us to our table and giving us the food. The food is extremely good and they season it well. The atmosphere is also nice here. It could be better but it's already good however if they had money they could renovate this to be one of the best Arab restaurants in Cleveland!
