My parents just took over ownership of this restaurant this year, so if you have been in before 2016 and been disappointed try it again now! If you have recently been in and feel unsatisfied I would suggest saying something while youre in the restaurant, they are always happy to fix an order if something is wrong. Doomy and gloomy?! I dont think so!! It is incredible warm and inviting! I am a paying customer and I'm there 3 times a week, I LOVE the food, and it is inexpensive! It is a small, simple, breakfast and lunch diner, the hour limitations are due to a contract with the bar and pizza shop next door who operate in the evening. There are a LOT of regulars, but the intent is never to make anyone else feel unwelcome, we want every one to feel at home! Contact me if you have a question or problem!

Never again! This place makes you feel like you've intruded on a private event with no invitation. While sitting around waiting 10 minutes to get our drinks and another 30 minutes for food, it became obvious the staff had their "regulars", and then there was the rest of us. I could go on and on but this place isn't even worth that much effort. Avoid it.

Stopped in for the first time on the recommendation of friends. What a pleasant surprise! I ordered a Greek omelet. Disappointed that the kalamata olives stated on the menu were absent, but for 4.99 who's going to complain? Good, hot coffee is a plus. 2 tablemates ordered steak and eggs. Under 10$ for Pete's sakes! 3rd tablemate ordered western omelette. He was also pleased. This is a small diner where it seems most folks are regulars and the waitresses know their needs before spoken. Our table had its own television. We will be back!

This is one of my favs for breakfast! The food is always great and reasonable by far in price. We got a chance to meet the owner who was so very courteous in guiding us around the menu.... This is a place with a lot of regulars and understandably so. Never had bad food or service here! I love the eggs Benedict here by the way...great job!

The 2 stars are for the times I've been here and enjoyed good food and pleasant service. The missing stars are due to my experience today. I walked in and saw several tables open (5 or so), plus counter seating. There was no one waiting so I went to the nearest table to the entrance. It had been cleared but still needed wiped off. Not really dirty, just needed a quick wipe. So I walked toward the back of the dining area where I noticed some other unoccupied tables. When I got back there I saw that none had been cleared of their dishes yet, so I headed back toward the first table. Again, I was OK with that. I just wanted to find a table. On the way back to the first table an employee stopped and asked me if I needed anything. She may have wondered because I was carrying my laptop, but I simply replied, "No, I'm just looking for a table that has been cleaned off." She said nothing -just frowned and walked into the kitchen. When I sat down at the front table I noticed a small chalkboard by the cash register. On it was written in cursive "Write your name if people are waiting." Oops, didn't see that...but then again there hadn't been anyone waiting, so based upon the condition expressed by the word "if", I felt exonerated from that particular oversight. Soon after, the same lady from before walked up and began wiping the table. She did not greet me in any way, so as she brushed something that looked like a piece of burnt bacon onto my lap (which I chose to ignore as an honest mistake), I felt obligated to make some kind of small talk because that is what people with manners generally do. I began with a smile and chuckling, "I hope you didn't think I was stalking you as I was walking through the restaurant!" She responded with a sarcastic chuckle and pointed with her head toward the wall above my table, where I found a painted large, flowing, cursive "Please wait to be seated" mural," and she said "That's why we have that up there."I had been there a few times before and didn't recall seeing that. I smiled, trying to retain some level of dignity, and asked, "OK, but how long has that been up there?" thinking it might have been recently painted. She again responded in a sarcastic tone, "It's been there the whole time we've been here."(By "we've" I assume she meant since the restaurant was established.) By then a couple had entered the restaurant and were waiting patiently. Rather than ask me if I wanted coffee or something else to drink, she turned and walked toward the couple while making another snarky comment to/about me that they could also hear. They laughed as they were escorted to their table. It was at this point that I got up and walked out. All I did was neglect to see the sign painted - not framed or bordered - on the wall...and located in a rather odd place in the restaurant. I didn't ignore the sign - I just didn't see it. I don't typically see "Please Wait To Be Seated" painted among a mural of flowers, above a table, when I enter a restaurant. (And I have dined at thousands of restaurants throughout the United States and abroad over the past 55 years.) That's not where someone's line of vision would typically go for that kind of information. (And the small chalkboard sign near the counter/register was not immediately recognizable either, as it was surrounded by decorative embellishments).I didn't bother anyone (except her, apparently), make a scene, complain, or do anything else wrong. I just wanted some breakfast, and I committed the awful offense of sitting at an empty table without waiting to be guided there. I hardly think I caused serious disruption to the execution of this company's business model. This is not an upscale restaurant by the Boston Garden on Laker night. It's not a seafood buffet in Myrtle Beach in July, not even a Ruby Tuesday's on BOGO day. Unlike those, there was no line of people waiting for tables at that time. It's a small, otherwise charming little place where you can get some eggs and bacon or sausage gravy and biscuits and a good cup of coffee. It's a place where people take their grandkids, or where old friends sit and bullshit. It could have been the setting for the Seinfeld diner.Unfortunately it's also a place where a reasonably literate, somewhat absent-minded guy with a few bucks in his pocket came in for a nice hot breakfast on a Saturday morning while he waited for his dog to get a haircut - and was treated with a lack of basic courtesy. It shouldn't matter who the person is...stranger or friend. Rich or poor. I might be on unemployment or have been evicted last night - or I might have a network of thousands of people and carry a credit card in my wallet that could buy the whole damn restaurant. I will tell you that I am one of those two people that I have just described. But that doesn't really matter. In either case, I am, above all other things, a human being, and the server at this restaurant had no right to treat me the way she did.

Good food and cheap eats. Breakfast served all day. The three egg veggie omelet is delicious. Pancakes are ginormous. So much so that one will fill you up. Get a box and take a second home. Located across from the Big Lots plaza in Whipple. Home spun goodness in a diner like setting. Booths gave TVs to entertain you while you wait.

I also noticed the same attitude as Steven P. They have a group of regulars and any else sits there waiting. The food is fair, not even good.
