Food and service was great. Saki was great. The only thing I had a concern with was that our chef was wearing a headband that meant that he was a ninja from the leaf village who had abandoned his village. I decided not to order food when I saw this because I don't understand why someone would abandon their village and really don't understand why they would broadcast that for everyone to know.So far, it seems like all of my friends are still alive and their food wasn't poisoned. But, I sat and watched this chef like a hawk the entire time he was at our table. Had to make sure he was keeping his cooking jitsu 100%. Looks like he did a good job. Would be curious to find out more but didn't want to bring it up during dinner because once you bring up something like that... that's all you talk about.

We had a really great dinner here last night, we ate on the traditional side. Our waitress was great very attentive and so sweet. We ordered our sushi which was wonderful! And then we both ordered a hibachi dinner. So filling, and we had enough for leftovers. It wasn't super busy so we were able to get right in! We really had a good time. The only issue I have is that we were sat next to the bathrooms and the smell was less than pleasant. The restrooms could have been cleaner for a nicer place.

The entryway is completely impossible for a person with a wheelchair to navigate, they have a long, steep ramp with a threshold that will not allow the front tires to clear. Luckily one of the patrons leaving helped back us up the ramp.Mass confusion at the desk, the hostess seemed new and overwhelmed. lots of folks with no reservation, nobody at the desk willing to deal with anyone. One of the hostesses was outside as we approached the door and on seeing us with the wheelchair snuck in and avoided holding the door open, nice.I won't be too hard on the server; it appears as though she has at least nine tables. LOUD, there seems to be lots of birthday parties, which is fine but very very loud Oyster appetizer with miso infused mayonnaise is excellent and the sautéed squid was wonderful as well. Very cold and crispy salad, wonderful dressing. Edamame was okay but needed more salt. The atmosphere was spoiled by a very loud Russian person who eventually had to be asked to leave. The manager should have intervened much earlier than she did. We both had the Chirashi, it was not authentic in the least. No boiled shrimp, no fish roe, no pickles, no seaweed, no squid or octopus, it was 12 pieces of mediocre fish on a bed of rice with a small piece of tomago. It could have used less rice and way more variety of seafood. Adding insult to injury, one of the bowls had a large chip, chips like this are a breeding ground for bacteria and likely a health code violation. All in all, an interesting night but scratched off of our list of return destinations.

It was my mother's 83rd birthday and thought it would be nice to eat Japanese as she is from Japan.-Server did not come to our table for 20 minutes, had to ask who are server was from another server going by and asked if the server would come to the table.- Lemon was with green tea (this is not traditional).-Miso soup was too salty which means too much miso paste was used.-Salad size was small and dressing very fiberous from ginger (either the dressing wasn't mixed or it was the bottom of the container) too much ginger taste needed more onion.- appetizer was served after our salad which was the overcooked calamari (turns rubbery when overcooked)- when food was delivered, tempura came without tempura sauce by the time we reminded the server, the tempura was already cold.- Tempura was very greasy not typical for good tempura ("potentially" oil was too hot temperature-wise or oil needed replaced) as the color of the tempura was dark (needs to be more "yuki").When they state "crab" on the menu (tempura), it is not crab but a misrepresentation as it is actually Alaskan pollock (a fish made to look like crab). The chirashi for my mother, was lacking ingredients (needed more sashimi slices). Usually, a chirashi ingredients covers the entire rice but this was not the case. Plus, she had to wait as we reminded the server again about the soy sauce was needed 8 minutes (started to keep time).- everyone in our party finally got refills on drinks except my wife- no teamwork seen by the servers- surprisingly, nothing special was done for my mother's 83rd birthday.Though busy, customer satisfaction on both, the service and the food, suffered and was a disappointment. This was not "Traditional Japanese" food as for taste as it was very poorly executed. This restaurant "appears" on the decline (unfortunately, some REVIEW RATINGs without any description relative specifically to food or service is just a number, some even get paid for posting 5 star reviews and 1 star reviews to competitors thus, I would disregard those ratings as most who would take the time to do the review would give reasons why they specifically rated a restaurant. If the reviewer did not bother to describe their experience or it was a short lame response, it "possibly" could be false). I am not saying all 5 Star ratings are false nor all ratings without description are false but those reading should be "potentially"skeptical or wary. Best way to find out if a restaurant is either good or bad "for you", is to go there and judge for yourself.Additionally, I was a professional Japanese chef for traditional Japanese food (prepared and served tempura, sushi-maki, nigiri, temaki/ sashimi/ pickled salads catering at some well known venues including Spanish Bay and Pebble Beach Lodge. Also, achieving head chef of a Hibachi restaurant during my younger years (many years of true experience) in California. Currently, I have no affiliation to any restaurants but have eaten at many Japanese restaurants throughout my life but had to remark about this experience as it was very disappointing and it was my mother's birthday. My hopes, Wasabi in Canton, can go back to the basics, get more training (for cooks and servers), upgrading their skills (standards), and be more attentive to guests. When these problems exist, it falls to and is usually due to poor management.-

The chef was the only good thing about this experience. Entering this place there is an old fountain/koi pond that still has a small amount of water In the very bottom and the smell is completely off putting and stagnant . As soon as we were seated i noticed old rotten food between where the grill is supposed to be attached to the table but has come apart. I'm seated with a very clear view of this . Mind you .. this was 4oclock .. those noodles had been sitting there for days if not longer . Completely ruined my appetite between that and the entrance way . (Pictures attached ) . Then the sushi comes they put sushi for 3 people on one plate .. no side plates nothing ..the salad was full of water on the bottom . That is caused from sitting over night btw . The bathroom smells ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!! Like straight sewage !! And was filthy . The smell is unbearable honestly. The entire place was just filthy . I'm glad it was dark because I seen enough. just makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like . If you're going to charge $140 for 2 adults and a child plus tip u can afford to properly clean and fix all that is wrong with your building .

Food was absolutely amazing, our chef was wonderful and exciting. My only issue was the absolutely ungrateful miserable woman that sat next to me and my boyfriend. Green dress, I really hope she reads this cause she ruined our experience. When we first sat and she and her boyfriend came to our table she was already throwing a hissy fit about the restaurant choice. I guess because she was pissed about being at the restaurant she decided not to touch any of her food cause she ate absolutely nothing. Was given rice and noodles, when he offered the veggies to all of us she's yelling "no veggies! No!" Chef asked if she wanted shrimp and since she wouldn't give him a clear answer she hissed "yeah I guess" then complained about getting chicken? I don't know what she ordered but she wasted so much food and tried to get the rest of the table on board with being angry about her food. Her boyfriend genuinely looked miserable and I hope he leaves her. She needs to be banned from this place. Mean to the chef, mean to her partner, just a nasty person. She literally complained about getting food wtf. Here's a picture of all the food that went to waste because she was just so angry about everything

We have been coming here for years and the past few experiences have been disappointing but after the one this weekend we will not be back. First, the bathroom has smelled like sewage for the past several times we have been there. You would think by now they would have tried to rectify the issue. It was to the point it was nauseating. Second, the food. I brought my mom here for the first time. The rice, great. The veggies were still cold and raw and he went back and forth from touching the raw meat to using them on the veggies. Cross contamination at its finest. He then proceeded to char the shrimp and scallops until they were inedible. We were unable to enjoy our food after watching everything. Lastly, when I brought it to the "managers" attention he said he would take care of one meal. The other one he would take and show the kitchen the burnt food. He literally offered us ice cream in place. We spent $85 and nobody touched their food but a few bites of rice. Our server was great. Really bad look for what was a really great place for families.

Showtime! Kids love it. Food is good and there's a ton of it - at least noodles and rice. Protein? Not so much but you won't leave hungry. Pricey but for once in a while with a big party just swallow hard and put it behind you.
