Husband LOVES the dandelion wine. Yes, I know it's weird but he likes it. The lady working told us that only one other place in Ohio makes it (it's in southern OH)Today I had the Pink Delight. I really liked it. Their raspberry is very good, as is the strawberry and peach. The workers are very friendly and helpful They only have food on Friday and Saturday It's a nice little place. Seats inside and a patio outside too - casual and easy to sit and enjoy

Served great street corn appetizer. Part of the Tannenbaum Trail. Enjoyed the winery. First time here. A definite return in my future.

Always love our visits here. There are a lot of sweet wines on the menu but their Cab Franc is our favorite dry. We also love to try the dandelion wine when it's available. Always looks for the sweet treat table and grab some delicious when you're there!

Friendly staff, it has that family/small business feel. Good wine, had quite a bit of sweet fruit wines. The inside restaurant isn't much to look at- but the outside pavilion space in the back is so peaceful and pretty- surrounded by the grapes they have growing. Not busy or commercial like the other overcrowded wineries with the gift shops. We didn't order food but they have packaged desserts, hand made. I would love to return

Just say no! I don't recommend this winery. The wine is extremely sweet and just tastes horrible. The BlackBerry wine reminds me of wild Irish rose (which might be better). The decor of th he winery is like stepping into a grandmas poorly decorated house.Dont waste your time here.

There is only one reason it's not a 5-star winery, but I will get that eventually. It has a lot going for it though. We walked in close to closing time on a Saturday night and were greeted like we were family! I couldn't believe how welcome I felt especially with the timing. The people behind the counter started talking to us, getting to know us, and the winemaker overheard our conversation and joined in.They were cleaning up in the process, but while they could've shooed us out or hurried us along in our tasting, the welcome feeling I had made me want to come back again someday (I'm from out of town). The winemaker gave me tips (I'm an aspiring winemaker) and talked to me about his process. Another employee, whom we happened to meet in town earlier in the day, spoke to us for a bit as well. It was kind of like hanging out at someone's house....which brings me to: Some people may be put off by the decor and setup of the place. The flooring, walls, and the cafeteria style counter made it seem like more of an old VFW or Moose Lodge. I'm okay with that because they're providing great service and I didn't even mention the wine yet.We found several wines we both like and my wife and I differ in what we usually liked. Service and a good product go a long long way for a business that I can overlook that it's not the fanciest winery on the block. You can go down the street for that. This is just a good "feels like home" winery with great people and good wine.

Surrounded by the corporate-type wineries, this cozy, alternative family-run winery is an absolute gem - especially if you are looking for the best prime rib dinner you'll ever eat! Not the place to quickly sample wine and leave, instead this is where the locals bring their families to dine - it's almost a secret to the tourists. It's the kind of business that built America - with 3 generations working there to make your meal perfect, including outstanding personal service. Proprietor Charlie at age 84 came to check on our table twice during the meal (his daughter Kimberly said he was out in the vineyard picking grapes earlier in the week) and when Kimberly noticed that our meal was taking a bit long to prepare, she brought us each a complimentary glass of wine along with a free cheese and crackers plate - WOW - talk about service! Salads are tossed fresh in front of the public, and nearby, Mary had her homemade cookies table covered with sweets to go (put money in jar - and FYI the prices are way too cheap). Unlike the architecturally-designed, big-time tourist-y wineries nearby, you wont be impressed by the building or decor that are reminiscent of a small-town junior high school cafeteria, but don't be fooled - this will be the best steak or prime rib dinner you've had in a long time. Wonderful people, super-clean and friendly. So glad we found it.

It was really nice and fun experience at Virant winery last year on June 16th on Saturday evening our 2003 Geneva High School reunion. I had a really great time and fun time talking to friends and meeting some new people too! The Virant winery the staff were workers there was really nice people and the food was really good there.
