Stopped by with a friend for a friday dinner. Loved the patio and even though it rained, they helped us quickly inside. I got the chimichangas, which are my go-to at every Mexican restaurant. I opted for the mexican rice with them and they were excellent. My only wish was that it came with refried beans and some lettuce + tomatoes to add some brightness to the dish. I will be back solely for the spicy margs

All I can say is "fabulous"!Mexican restaurants are easy to find, but of the three Tres Potrillos locations we've visited, this is our favorite. We've returned multiple times now and have found the service, food, and drinks have been consistently excellent. The vibe is cheery and inviting.I've settled in to a favorite: the lunch fajitas. The first time I ordered it, I expected a tiny plate with a few thin strips of meat, and a spoonful of rice and beans. What a surprise to see a large plate of food! It didn't come on a sizzling platter, but the food was hot, fresh, and plentiful. Plus, I had never eaten on a triangular platter before, which I thought was fun.My wife's favorite dish is the chicken tinga street tacos, which are perfectly seasoned and served with rice and a tasty spicy hot sauce--SO good!Our service has always been prompt and attentive and it hooked us the very first time we came and our server was beaming with pride over her freshly-made guacamole--the best! She was so happy and attentive--everything you would hope to find in a server.We aren't the only ones who seem to like this restaurant. Every time we've been there we've seen families, parties, and groups gathering there.We'll keep coming back because all the very pleasant things this restaurant has adds to the enjoyment of our dining experience.

Let me start by saying the menu has so many good sounding dishes my husband and I both were concerned we ordered wrong. We did not and it just left us both feeling we can't wait to come back and try more. He got the tortilla soup and birria quesadilla combo. He said it was the best tortilla soup he's ever had! I got the barbacoa bowl it was huge! Chips and salsa were really good and decent margs. Our server was funny nice and professional. My four year old also approved of the service and said top notch quesadilla with a side of perfect avocado slices. Thank you for a wonderful dinner and we will be back.

Everything about this place is outstanding, especially the staff. When we walked in tonight there was Latin music playing and I started to dance; the manager looked up, swept me into his arms and danced me around the lobby. The restaurant is beautiful, especially in the summer when there outdoor dining happens. Authentic and delightful!!

Visit this establishment from time to time.Stopped in today at noon. We ordered a couple of margaritas prior to ordering lunch,The place wasn't busy but the server brought the drinks and didn't return anytime soon. Many other patrons entered and were waited on by the same server. Finally the server arrives to take our order. Other patrons receive their order but not us. Lunch finally arrives and I order another drink.Drink finally delivered and we finish lunch. It's now 1:10PM and were awaiting the check. Finally at 1:30 and server finally arrives and asked if we want anything else. My wife tells him that the service was awful and he offers an apology. It will be a long while before I return to Tres Portillos if ever!
