I've tried to come here two other times to dine in (once for a date!) and they were just very slow to open for dine-in. Happy to say that I was finally able to eat here and try their offerings! They are still not full service, which is fine with me! You just order at the counter, seat yourself and grab any utensils, water or napkins that you may need. All of that is dandy but the service is quite slow. It was a little slow and chaotic when I came in because there wasn't anyone at the counter and 2 others were there waiting on their pickup order. I noticed that it took 10+ minutes to pick up an order and they did not try to acknowledge or take any other orders during that time. The menu looked pretty vast and I'd definitely be up to try different dishes next time. I got the yakisoba noodles with pork and it tasted fine but the menu mentioned that there would be egg in the dish which there was none. Wish there were more noodles because they were so delicious but there was too much rough cut vegetables and large chunks of meat. My pork looked and tasted more like chicken breast pieces and were overdone. Portions were reasonable as you can see from the picture. One more thing to mention is that there is no AC and hardly any circulation of air. We met on a hot day and it was stifling and pretty uncomfortable inside. I would suggest choosing a much cooler day to dine in!My fellow diner ordered the Indonesian fried rice with fried chicken pieces and boy, that looked BOMB. I'm definitely trying something like that next time!

I first visited on a Monday in early August 2024, for dinner, with a Yelp friend, Kathy. She had heard of this restaurant during COVID (2021 or 2022) but I hadn't heard of it so I was happy to check it out.I didn't know this was a self service restaurant until I entered with my friendSERVICE (3/5) -- It was simple but I have no complaints. The complimentary tea is a nice touch (you serve this yourself in a small plastic cup). This isn't a regular restaurant though. It is more of a takeaway establishment because you have to go up to the counter to order, they serve your food in a plastic container (it doesn't matter whether it is dine-in or takeout order, you will get plastic utensils and container), and they provide plastic cups for water. The host was direct and to the point when you go up to him to order. There is no small talk initiated but I think I did notice a smile out of him. After we ordered, he then brought my friend and I our food to the table. He didn't ask us if we wanted anything to drink because you have to order everything at once at the counter when you initially enter the restaurant.FOOD (3.5/5) -- I enjoyed what I ordered. I got the Indonesian Fried Rice which cost $14.95 for a dinner size plate. There were 2 pieces of chicken in the container - fried, crispy pieces and regular un-fried pieces that were dry. The oil or sauce given helped to make the un-fried chicken less dry. The rice was cooked well and had some flavour. There was a small egg on top of the whole dish. I had hardly eaten all day so I was hungry. I almost finished the whole container of food. I ate the leftovers the following day (Tuesday) in the evening by candlelight since Cleveland lost electricity on that day starting at 4pm.Overall, my experience here was between a 3.5/5 and a 4/5 experience. A 3/5stars is fair considering that I have only tried 1 item on the menu so far. I don't live close so I'm unsure I'll be back. If I'm in the Cleveland Heights area then I won't mind ordering the Indonesian Fried Rice or trying something else on the menu.****GOAL of 150 reviews in 2024- 84/150 total reviews in 2024- 734 total overall Yelp reviews- Reviewed on 10 August 2024

My first time ordering from Tree Country Bistro was for chicken pad thai takeout. IMHO, Pearl Asian Kitchen (RIP) had the best chicken pad thai in the east side area. Anyway, the interior is a bit dingy and not fancy in the slightest but I'm not taking that into consideration with my review here as I only did takeout. Since I ordered from the slightly more expensive dinner menu, the portion was generous with noodles and tasty chicken. The sauce tasted sweet, like it had honey added into it and the medium spice level was the perfect level of spiceI think there should have been more eggs in my pad thai as well as way more veggies than the scarce amount of scallions included. Nevertheless, I thought my meal was very tasty and will definitely order pad thai from here when the craving hits again.

Nothing fancy, but a neighborhood go to for take out. The service has always been friendly and the food is solid. Some favs include the chicken spring rolls, Mango fried rice, and the Tom Yum Noodle soup.

I discovered this place at the rec of a local friend. It's a family owned business, and they really make good food! I've only eaten inside the restaurant a handful of times and it isn't super upscale or anything but I feel you could come with friends or an SO for lunch or dinner anytime and it could feel nice. My favorite dish hands down was the Indonesian fried rice -- they add strips of really delicious fried chicken over the bed of fried rice and the portion sizes are GENEROUS: I would usually get two meals out of it. If you want to skip the rice and just get the delicious fried chicken, I have also ordered just the "Basil fried chicken" dish and that is great if you have some sides at home already to eat (or you can buy some). I also love that this place has the simple but DELICIOUS mango sticky rice dessert: it's very popular in Southeast Asia and they do it with the traditional coconut sweet cream. I still crave it from time to time and am just disappointed I don't live in Cleveland anymore so I can't get it!

Reasonable prices (especially their lunch time deals). I highly recommend the Indonesian fried rice- the chicken is crispy and the fried rice has a nice mix of veggies in it. The inside of the restaurant is nice, although they are currently only open for take out. Great service for take out, the food is always prepared in a reasonable amount of time (~15min)

Food is always good and very consistent. I remember eating here years ago pre COVID. Recently I made a trip back with my husband and now he is hooked. Although the atmosphere has changed, and it has converted to more of a take out style place. The quality has not changed. One of our go to take out meals. The green chicken curry and the mango chicken curry are incredible.

I have eaten here many times. Over the years it has averaged probably 3 stars for me but most recently very much only two stars. The Larb (with Chicken) had none of the lime/fish sauce/toasted ground rice flavors that are key. The pad thai was on the dry side and average at best.

I friend of mine and myself decided to have lunch at this place this week. The first thing you notice is their great location, right next to the parking lot. As you enter the place feels pleasant, they could improve their lighting though. We sat down, the menus are printed as a flyer, I don't know if this means that they change their offerings frequently or it is just to cut on expenses. The owner came and asked us for what we wanted to drink. Here it is where we realized that this is place is a bistro on some aspects but it certainly it is not a bistro in many other aspects.Reasons why you can call it a bistro are the home style and good tasting food as well as the pricing. Reasons why it is not a bistro. No one is there to take your order, you have to go to the counter to place your order and you refill your water plastic cup from a plastic container. The food is served in plastic containers and the flatware is also plastic. Having your food served in this manner makes the place all of a sudden lose half of its charm. We appreciated the lack of TVs and music as we were able to concentrate in our conversation. In general, the place has great potential to become an anchor in the area with a great Pan-Asian offer but it certainly it is not a Bistro.
