Spent Christmas dinner here with my family of 18. We have gone to Benihana or hamachi for Christmas for the past 20 years. However, we've been consistently disappointed with the rising prices and bad service. Tonight not only was the food great but the service staff was excellent! They went above and beyond to make our holiday and the birthdays we were celebrating special!Will definitely be back!

Soup is flavorful. Salad is nice, but a bit small. The hibachi is delicious! People at the same table had some beautifully arranged sushi.Restaurant is clean, but the acoustics are horrible. The banging from the hibachi chef was loud and the walls echo.

I'm not one for hibachi, but this is the place I would recommend for it. Hibachi seems to be the best place for a group, but I can say Tomi was a great experience with great food. Walking in, the place is very clean, organized, and overall just very nice to be. The staff were very respectful and welcoming, and our hibachi chef was pretty good. Our table was fairly quiet, but the interactions we got to have were fun. I had the steak hibachi dinner (mine was cooked first due to an allergy), and I really enjoyed it. The lo mein was excellent, the rice and vegetables were cooked perfectly, and the flavor of the steak was enjoyable. I overheard the shrimp being cooked well, and the chicken looked great; everything seemed to be enjoyable and worth the price. I'm not big on mushrooms, but their mushroom soup is very good. I would love to get my own group together and come back for hibachi.

My daughter and I went here for an early dinner last night and had an absolute BLAST! Overall this was a great experience and we'll be back regularly. The atmosphere was great, from the Grand Opening sign, to the spinning lighted projector sign on the ground as you entered, to the huge Maneki-Neko cat statue at the entrance and gorgeous water fountain statue/decor throughout and wonderful colors/styling.Clean, clean, clean...this place was very clean and noticeably so. The staff was over the top friendly, attentive and always ready to help...even more so, they made my DAUGHTER feel very special (which as a dad is #1). Bringing her "kids chopsticks" without us having to even ask, to offering her special Japanese Sodas, fun desserts, giving her a balloon on a stick (fun fun) and even a special stuffed animal on our way out...they made it all quite special for her...great focus.The cook was excellent, he was newer so not as "over the top" as the others (show wise) but still very good and most importantly, focused on cooking great food! Not over the top salty or over seasoned at all, which was refreshing. The fried rice was perfect, along w/the noodles, vegetables (not overcooked at all). The steak, chicken and lobster all were cooked very well, delicious! My daughter ate most of her plate but did eat all of her soup, salad and the sushi appetizers we got. Soup was very good, better than others. Salad was on point with what you'd expect. Sushi - ok, i'm a bit of a sushi fanatic. It was GOOD...not great/spectacular but was solid and would order it regularly when going there as an appetizer. My daughter ate all her sashimi and I ate mine as well. Again, GOOD!What else, oh I will say one thing that was an area to adjust on and I take into account that we came to our table seemingly a little "later" than the others that were already eating their salads/soup and appetizers when we sat down...We felt a little rushed...which we aren't used to in these places. I'm not going to knock them for it as it's brand new, they had A LOT going on and perhaps our particular timing was off for our table (it happens). We are very flexible so just went with it but next time will relax a bit and slow down as we liked everything there. Hell, we had a blast, the food was great and the people from waitresses to cooks and beyond were very very VERY good....that to me earns the rating.Go here if you enjoy this style of cooking. We were regulars at (the other place in Mentor) until they, ahem, lost their way. We'll be coming here for the foreseeable future 100%.;)

The food was delicious the cook was very friendly and entertaining. Not the place for a quiet night out. Much cleaner than the last place here. If you want to have an exciting party with your meal this is the place. Portions are huge.

We went to Tomi's for lunch and orderedhibachi. The chef was excellent! He was very entertaining and cooked our food to perfection. It was delicious! Our server was excellent. We would definitely come back again. The owner even came out to greet us and to make sure everything met our expectations. He was super friendly and very accommodating. We would highly recommend eating here. The restaurant was very clean.
