We went here for dinner on a Friday night. We were excited to try this place, however it was very disappointing. The food from the pictures and reviews did not look great so we're not expecting much. It was below average, and definitely not worth the price. The best thing we had were the mashed potatoes, and we had ordered the lamb and steak. The service was slow, granted it was a busy Friday night, but could not even get our water refilled. We got our food before our drinks had even arrived. Overall atmosphere was pretty cool, and the selection of bourbon was great, but this place had a lot of kinks to work out. Bottom line, would not recommend. Go somewhere else.

The Whiskey Bar & Grill is the second location of the original Whiskey Bar in Coventry/Cleveland Heights. It has the same dark, moody vibes as the original but is about four times the size and offers a wider range of food options. The establishment is tucked away on the corner of East 2nd St and High St - away from the East 4th crowds. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the impressive, U-shaped, solid copper (or some kind of thick metal) bar. I sat at the bar and enjoyed dinner and a glass of Jameson followed by a flight of whiskeys, selected for me by the bartender Cassie, who by the way was excellent all night long! The place started to fill up as the night went on, and there was live music to liven up the space. It was definitely a chill yet groovy vibe. Their whiskey selection is top-notch just like the original location, and the food is classic American cuisine. I had the salmon which came with a decent sized fillet with side of arugula salad and truffle mashed potatoes. Everything came out hot and was cooked well. For dessert, I tried the tiramisu, which was not too sweet and hit the spot to cap off the meal. Overall, this second location is a great addition to downtown and I'm really glad that there's another option to enjoy similar vibes and great whiskey as the original!
