Clear signage. Plenty of parking. However easy to miss - we just don't have many one-way parking plaza's in Cleveland. It is the plaza north of Heinen's grocery store. It is primarily Carryout but there are so bistro tables outside. It appears to be a full-service butcher. The window is full of dry aged beef! The motif is so cute and is extremely clean inside. So I think they deserve to be categorized as a boutique butcher. I think the Village Butcher has the most spectacular sandwiches in town. The "Larry" is the BEST cheesesteak I have had in Cleveland. High quality ingredients, generous with the amount of meat and beautiful bread. The other sandwich we tried was the "PLG". Holy Toledo! The best Italian sub I have ever had. The lunch meats are premium. The basil aioli will have you licking your fingers! This sandwich can be made hot or cold. We get it cold and let it set out for an hour. Please try this place. You will not regret it!

Awesome butcher/deli shop with great sandwiches and meat! Small shop producing big flavors in all of their products. Service was very nice and made our food very quick and fresh. The PLG sandwich from the deli was amazing, the baguette was warm and toasted which was the perfect base for the salty capicolla sopresatta and prosciutto contrasted with the bright basil aioli and fresh lettuce, tomato, and red onions, and the sandwich was all brought together by the bright and acidic Italian dressing. Everything looks great in there, all the different prepared foods, fresh meats and sauces, I'll definitely make more stops here in the future.

Ordered: PLG sandwich, Crispy Z sandwich, fries, street cornPrice: ~$45Ambiance: Stopped by this place 30 mins prior to closing and they weren't too busy. The shop is essentially a butcher counter with a small kitchen tucked in the back and a wall of imported pasta and sandwich supplies. The place is sub-optimally organized IMO. You order food at the butcher counter just like the people ordering meats, then pay at the table by the entrance which means doubling back against incoming traffic, then walk to the opposite end by the kitchen for your food. This creates a lot of cross traffic which can be confusing. There is no sitting room so hot food is all carry out by the way. Aside from these problems, the store is neat with cool imported pastas, fancy mustards, multiple brands of imported tomatoes, etc. There are vintage radios on the shelves which is a cool decorative touch and a massive meat scale by the kitchen you'll wish you could climb on. The food is made fresh one order at a time so it can take a while, we waited maybe 25-30 mins with two orders ahead of us. Food: Of our sandwiches, the PLG was the clear winner. It's a big sandwich with a log of thinly shaved imported cured meats sitting on hearty bread, a bed of greens, and topped with fat slices of beefsteak tomato and a garnish of shaved red onions. The ratios were very satisfying and the balance between savory and acidic was perfect, it's definitely something I'd get again. The crispy Z was basically a classic fried chicken sandwich made with two boneless skinless thighs. It's a very good sandwich with great house pickles but compared to the PLG it seemed like not that much food despite being the same cost. As for sides, 100% get the fries. They're a relatively small order for the price but they're amazingly flavorful and crispy, you won't regret it. The street corn was good as well, you basically get three small pieces that are roasted, and slathered in a garlicky cilantro cream and generously sprinkled with Mexican cheese. Overall, village butcher makes some admittedly great sandwiches with quality ingredients. They don't have a huge variety on their menu but what they offer is generally tasty. I will admit I'm a little sad the PLG wasn't made with meats cured in-house and their selection of cured meats was somewhat sparse overall but this place has only been open a few months and meats can take over a year to cure. The prices do seem a bit high however, $13-14 bucks for a sandwich and $6 for a side is a lot especially when some of them aren't filling. I'd still recommend coming here to try some of their offerings but with the expectation that you're here for the flavor/quality more than anything else.

There are some really good sandwich places in Cleveland (ferrara's, herb n twine, larder, Davis bakery, Dave's cosmic, etc), but village butcher was very special and I get why it was recently ranked #1 sandwich shop in the Cleveland area. We had the Kytana Sandwich, which was on a crisp homemade brioche roll with caraway seeds, roasted Turkey avocado Swiss arugula and Russian dressing. The sandwich was a sloppy mess and I loved every second of it! On the side we tried the Italian street corn which is a cool take on elote and the corn was cooked super well done so the corn fell off the cob, it was a great addition to the sandwich! Also don't forget to get your pantry staples and fresh meats out of their butcher case!

I was looking for a quick and good lunch spot and came across this place. You walk in and get the butcher shop vibe. There is no seating so be prepared to take your lunch and find somewhere to eat. There is a nice park right down the street. I had the rib sandwich and a soup. This sandwich was the absolute bomb! The rib meat had the best consistency, tender to bite but not tough. The flavor was just wow- the buttery bread, the pickles and slaw were a great combo. The soup was very good, with a smooth and creamy flavor. Prices were fair and they had a bunch of yummy things for sale.

They don't miss. I've purchase burgers and roast from the meat counter, and the Larry (all time favorite), bbq short rib, and steak and arugula sandwiches. Amazing. Even better is that they're so friendly and provide recommendations on pairings.

Seems like a great spot and very well meaning! Unfortunately my sandwich was loaded with rotten avocado. Please just take the time to let the customer know you are out of avocado rather than smear a good sandwich with rotten veg :(
