I came here for a solo date and was wowed by everything this restaurant has to offer. They had a wonderful cocktail and food menu, but all the while the staff was amazing. I sat at the bar and ordered the Trophy Wife featured cocktail. The taste was fruity and balanced perfectly. For food I ordered the mussels and the beet salad. Both were absolutely devine. The flavor of the mussels were perfect and the bread it came with had the perfect crunch to soak in the sauce. The beet salad came with rock course salt, balsamic, pomegranate seeds and whipped goat cheese. It has every flavor needed to make his dish a great salad. For dessert, I ordered an affogato of course. If anyplace offers an affogato, I order it. But this one came with an orange liquor/digestif. The meal was amazing. The bartender and manager were checking in with all tables and always offering assistance. I cannot talk highly about this place enough. Amazing.

Our first visit to The Standard Restaurant was on a Friday night following Christmas. It was my wife's birthday. It seemed that many tables were celebrating a birthday. Our reservation was at 5p, and it was relatively busy. We split a Wedge salad. It was excellent. We both had petit filets. Also excellent. My wife had mashed potatoes as a side. I had polenta. We probably could have split one side, but we managed to finish both. They were good. Being my wife's birthday, the waitress provided her several dessert options. We split the raspberry cheesecake. Good choice. We thought the service was excellent. We'll be back.

We had a delicious meal at The Standard last night. Make a reservation! We did but the people asking for a table a would have had about an hour or so wait on the weekend. Regardless, it would be worth the wait anyway. The restaurant is smaller inside than you would think but the atmosphere is swanky and fun. Low lighting , but not dark. Very cool vibe and you can even see the kitchen work depending on which side you are on. It was very cool to see. Clean and precise, they definitely know what they're doing. Our waiter was Jake and he was promptly at our table pouring us water and asking for our drink order. Super friendly and so helpful. I had a specialty cocktail and the fiancé had a standard (see what I did there) rum and Coke. Drinks were delicious. We started with the fried feta appetizer with hot honey. 9/10 for sure. Absolutely delicious. I wish it was a little warmer but feta doesn't hold its heat super well anyway. Still top notch and highly recommend. The garlic bread it comes with was also delicious. Ask the waitstaff for recommendations on food. I am so glad we did. Jake was right, one of the best meals we have ever had. He explained everything thoroughly and I ended up with the seared scallops with a butternut puree, cremini mushroom and Brussels sprouts. I'm not normally a scallops person but he said if you want good ones this is the place to try. They were on special so also not always going to be around. I felt like I had to try and I am so glad I did. Same with the fiancé. He's never had swordfish, and Jake said go for it. So he did. Absolutely delicious. The pasta with his was cooked to perfection and had a caper and garlic butter sauce that was just perfect. Sometimes capers can be overpowering but these were absolutely perfect. 10/10 on both our main dishes. The owner or GM came over and laid out all the deserts for us and asked how our meal was and was also incredibly friendly. It definitely made the experience feel homey and welcome. While all the desserts sounded delicious, we ended with the cheesecake, because that's my standard, and not something I can easily pass up. It was creamy and not too sweet. The crust was delicious and the berry toppings were very good but a little much for me. 9/10. Overall, if you're looking for a nice night out in Toledo give The Standard a try. We definitely will be back to try more on the menu. Also, my pictures suck and the S.O may have started to dig into his swordfish before I could take a picture so don't judge their playing off my crappy photos

While it's too early to declare this is our new favorite restaurant in Toledo, since we've only been once, the Standard immediately removes some of our favorite spots from our 'go-to' list, because after trying the Standard's food, it's hard to imagine how other restaurants can compare.The cook on my wife's filet with bearnaise sauce, something she gets any time she can, was perfect, and some of the best she's ever had. Same with my short rib, a dish I've likely had seventeen million times, but at the Standard, I fell in love with it all over again.And to top it off, the garlic bread? We all love garlic bread, right? We've all had some that we think is the best... maybe we even have a special recipe for the world's best garlic bread at home? Doesn't matter what you think is good, you must try the Standard's garlic bread, made with locally produced "all crumbs" bread. It is, without a doubt, the most flavorful and decadent garlic bread of your life.All of that aside, the service is exceptional, from the host to the server, to the follow-up email making sure you had a great time. The Standard gets it and has immediately become our standard, for a perfect night out in Toledo.

It was our first time visiting The Standard and we loved it! We sat at the bar with a friend as we didn't have reservations. It was a busy Wednesday night during the holidays! We ordered the pan fried feta cheese that comes with garlic bread. It was amazing flavors and the garlic bread is perfectly crunchy. For dinner, my husband had the shrimp which he devoured. All the flavors worked well together. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs which come with 3 good sized meatballs separately in a bowl and then the spaghetti twirled about in a long plate, love a good presentation! It was spicy but delicious. The bartenders provided excellent service and even though they were busy, we didn't have to wait long for anything. I'm excited to return to try something else and a cocktail!

Easily one of the best dining experiences I've had this year and maybe my new favorite restaurant. From the top level service to the attention to detail, it was all top notch. Then you get to the food and it's a real cut above the rest. Easily one of the best steaks from a restaurant I've ever had. Don't skip out on the appetizers or desserts either. The garlic bread was amazing and the cheesecake epic. Cannot wait to go back. This really should be the standard you expect when going out to eat.

You would never guess this gem is hidden in the places it's in. Great location though right in the center of it all in Toledo. I came here for my birthday and was greeted with a table set for my party and a card from the staff! (Not to mention a free dessert, yum! All of the food was delectable. The steak is a la carte so beware of pricing but worth it. Be prepared to spend a pretty penny. My only complaint/ suggestion is that the volume in there is really high, felt like I had to tell to the people at my table, maybe something to help with that would make a huge difference in my experience.

Three of us were here tonight to celebrate a birthday. The place hasn't changed much decor-wise from what I recall from the former Revolution Grill and Mancy's Ideal. It has a very intimate ambiance with one side that is a restaurant and another side a large bar. We had reservations and were promptly seated in a booth. Our server was very young and charming, sweet and funny. The menu is pretty strictly set, not allowing substitutions. For instance, our birthday girl had previously had the rib roast without fried egg on top but learned that this is the way it's made on their "summer menu." I had my eye on the scallops entree but didn't want chorizo or mussels. I was told no substitutions could be made. Birthday girl ordered lambchops and loved them. Our friend ordered the special chicken breast stuffed with cheese and prosciutto. She said it was okay but not anything special. I ordered the Chicken Schnitzel and cut off the burnt parts on the edges. I also ordered a side of asparagus that didn't immediately come with the meal until I asked for it again. My friend ordered a glass of Merlot and it hadn't been served for quite a while. Once the manager came by, my friend mentioned it to him and her Merlot was promptly served. Overall, the dining area was extremely loud on a Saturday night, making conversation difficult to hear. Service was pleasant but not super attentive to special orders. No bread is served complimentary. Everything was pretty pricey, which is fine if a restaurant allows for some substitutions, which was not the case. The restaurant also offered nothing for the birthday girl, such as a complimentary dessert with a candle. It was an overall nice evening with good friends and good food, but could be improved based on my comments above.

The food here was phenomenal! Absolutely delicious the steak was slightly undercooked but not too big a deal. The cocktails were boozy and tasty. I got the miso sea bass which was absolutely delicious. The spinach & mashed potatoes came with the fish but since we were sharing everything we requested ours plated separate which they were happy to accommodate. The sea bass is probably the best I have ever had, it was that good! The service was amazing! I would definitely make a reservation this place was packed and for good reason.
