The Pantry

The Pantry is located on Prospect Ave N in Hartville right on the corner. This is a quaint little Gem to eat at. My daughter and I showed up right before you closed for the day and I am so glad you let us in. The food is fantastic and the staff and owners are wonderful. I can't wait to return again. Thank you for such a pleasant experience in this troubled time of the Covid fall out. Even though you were short handed, You and your staff rocked it!!! To all future customers, if you haven't eaten at "The Pantry", I suggest you do and enjoy!

The food was good but overpriced. Service left a lot to be desired.I was leery of dining here as soon as I pulled into the parking lot. The back of the building is unkept. One of my rules is "If they don't give a damn about what customers can see, they certainly don't give a damn about what customers can't see." But The Pantry offered gluten-free options so I stuck with my decision.As you walk into the entrance, a place mat was taped to the hostess station with a hand written note saying, "Come in. We're open." You can't afford a proper sign? You don't have a computer to print your message? You couldn't go to Dollar Tree & buy an erasable white board?The dining room is small with most space occupied by the bar. Three other parties of 1 to 2 people were already seated with no one at the bar. It took a full 5 minutes to be acknowledged once we were seated.I ordered the meatloaf special with mashed potatoes while my wife ordered a grilled cheese sandwich on gluten-free bread & fries. The server returned after taking our order to inquire if I wanted gravy on my mashed potatoes. She later returned to tell me they were out of mashed potatoes. I ordered fries which turned out to be hand cut but could have been slightly crispier. The same was true for my wife. The food did keep my rating from shrinking to 2 stars.Operating a restaurant is a brutal business. A lot of professionals who have years of experience in hospitality management fail. Putting up an open for business sign & having cutesy decor won't come close to cutting it anymore. I don't know the background or experience of the current ownership. Stopped here after the flea market tonight.. Everyone else had the City Chicken but I had the chicken quesadilla.. It was all good! Having the pie now..

Nice, calm, and relaxed place for a lunch time visit! Pretty wide dining area with a cute porch up top to sit and eat on-only downside is you're right next to a traffic light so you hear every car going by. Service was quick and our waitress was very sweet. I went for the breakfast burger and it was probably the most flavorful burger Ive had in a while!! The hand-cut fries taste homemade however I do wish they were cooked a little longer to give them that extra crunch. I do want to come back for the breakfast since that seems to be the popular option but we had a great time!!

This unique historic venue was a bit disappointing.Seating was uncomfortable, dinner prices a tad high for the small portions.Service was good and Ruthy was attentive and friendly.The food had good flavor. We had tender porkloin and chicken marsala.Decor was interesting.This place could be something great.

Excellent service. Excellent food. I had the stuffed French toast. Berries were fresh and the syrup was real. My date had the sausage gravy and biscuits. She said she never had biscuits so soft. The gravy was very tasty also. I had to try. Will be back. Very casual and not fast paced. Great way to start a day off.

Growing up in Hartville this was a great place to eat. Always looked forward to going here. It was empty for such a long time and was excited to see them reopen this place. Have been to it twice since it's reopen twice. Went once under 1st management and then again under 2nd management. . Both times it has felt like you almost have a cool place. The food had been ok and the hours are weird. We already have 2 restaurants in town that are only open for breakfast and lunch. Don't need another one of those. You are sitting on a gold mine, I just wish you realized it.

I would love to say how the food was but we'll never know. We showed up for breakfast at 10:00. We ordered. 30 minutes later - nothing. The server told us "it's next up." 30 minutes later, the server told us there was a mix up and it's next up. Fifteen minutes later, we told the server we were leaving and she said it is coming up "right now." Fifteen minutes later, still nothing so we finally left. An hour and a half and never got our food.

It was a cute place. We stopped by on a Saturday around 10. We were greeted promptly and seated. We got our coffees and one water but they ran out of cups, so they couldn't bring another one until it's been cleaned (30min). It took over 45 minutes from the time we ordered til we got our pancakes, biscuits and gravy and eggs. With no explanation in between. I wanted to love it because it's a cute place in Hartville but it took way too long for an easy breakfast.

Great service. Got the club sandwich on a crescent roll. Warm and tasty! Great food! Fresh cut fries and the dessert is delicious. 100% recommendations
