The Original Margaritaville

Ordered the nachos with chicken!Excellent choice definitely is for two people.Drinks were a little pricy. But the food made up for it!

I was so excited when I found out new owners bought Margaritaville and even more so when I heard they were going back to the original menu! So, I went there to eat with family, 2 of the 3 of us had to send our food back. We thought ehh, they were probably new and needed practice. So, my daughter and I came over a few weeks later..I had fajitas and couldn't even chew the meat it was so tough. Sent them back, but by the time our server got back to the table I was no longer hungry and had no appetite to be interested in anything else. Third times a charm, right? This time I tried a carry out. A simple taco salad-who could mess this up, right? Well, let me tell you! They told me on the phone that it would take them 10 minutes. I was there early, thinking I'd have to wait for it. I couldn't find anyone without going into the back. So I waited, hoping the bags I noticed behind the bar weren't mine. Finally, the barmaid comes out, hands me THOSE bags, I take care of my bill then leave and come home. I live 4 minutes from this place. It sure was smelling good in the car! Know why? Bc it leaked all of the salad "liquids?" Out of the bag, onto my cars carpet...very glad I didn't sit it on the leather seats. I get into the house, open the tied bags (with scissors! because they knotted them so tight for no reason!) finally get to the box, open it and am disgusted! There is liquid all in the bottom of the salad box ruining the "crispy" shell as well as any crunch of a piece of lettuce! It was all so soggy I deemed it inedible and pitched it to the trash. I am single, so I do like to bring a date here for a margarita on occasion, love watching the waterfall and the salsa is terrific. But gosh darn, I wish the food was worthy of a better review!

Ownership changed at Thanksgiving and some updating done, we have eaten here x 2 in last month before writing this view. They have good daily specials then a set of weekend specials. Monday is burger and beer for 6, fries are upgrade, thursday is wet burrito platter for $10, my husband finished half burrioi, rice and seasoned black beans along with complimentary chips and a picante like salsa (on the thin side but not overfilling to take from meal, chips are not warmed). I have tried the enchilada platter 3 plus rice and black beans for $15. I finish about half, you can order ala carte too. Lots of monterey jack on enchiladas. We havent tried the adult beverages yet but they we large and tge frijitas smell wonderful. As others have stated the black beans are good but a little salty. Hubby loved the 3 taco platter with beans and rice for $13. Good size tacos each was like 8 inch versus 5 inch size. They have a beautiful location, weekend music planned on patuo this summer...havent seen patio menu yet but will return and see how things evolve esp with summer season and Bike Week approaching. They are expanding hours and plannjng to serve breakfast...i keep up on news thru Facebook.

My husband and I desired to give this establishments another visit as we heard it was under new management with good Mexican food. We were there after the lunch period and before dinner about 3:00. The Ambiance was good and the remodeling was nice. The view of the lake and waterfall are worth seeing even if it's just to have a cocktail. They claim a full bar, however they did not have my drink of choice, Chardonnay. My husband had a Margarita. He said it was excellent and they did not skimp on the Tequila. I ordered the fish Tacos. My fish Tacos came with a black bean and corn salsa and Mexican rice and refried beans. He ordered a taco salad. The Rice and beans were so salty I could not eat it. The fish tacos had three black beans and two pieces of corn on each, but it wasn't a salsa. However, the taste of the fish was delicious. My husbands Taco Salad was delicious too. There were quite a few people there at the time, but just one wait staff behind the bar and one server on the floor. We waited quite a wile for the food. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. She provided us with corn chips and salsa when we arrived and we ordered a queso sauce as well. The salsa sauce wasn't very good and was so cold it seemed like it had been frozen and not quite thawed out. The queso was delicious. I might go back and give them another try during regular lunch or dinner times.

I order tacos and the taco meat was raw. Service was ok. The rice and beans were ok. The chips and salsa tasted very good. The view to the waterfalls could have been awesome but the window we were seated near was very dirty and we could barely see through it.

Service was not very good. We finally just ordered a half order of beef nachos, because we had an appointment to get to. Menu says melted cheese, nope it was crappy cheese sauce. The place was also freezing cold inside. Don't think we will go back.

It's been years but heard about new management! Excellent soup and homemade chips! Nice lunch and nice view!

We came to Margaritaville to watch the band. Unfortunately, we have received the absolute worst service of anywhere I've ever been. It took almost an hour to receive our drinks, an hour and 45 minutes to get 6 boneless wings and a burger. When we tried to order more food, as more of our family arrived, we were told that we could not order anymore food for at least an hour. When i went to the bathroom, i saw that one of only two bartenders was busy on her phone taking a smoke break, even though we had already waited 40 more minutes for the second round of drinks. Having worked as a bartender and server before starting my career, I was pissed. Some of our party left to go get food and then come back for the band. Long story short, don't come to Margaritaville hungry or thirsty. Unreal. This place is a cash cow- if they get their crap together. Oh- and it was a Saturday evening...

This place was a serious disappointment. I read the website and understood that I was not getting the Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville. They made such a point about it that I expected that they would have pride in their food and service. The food was mediocre at best. Almost no seasoning on the Jambalaya Mac! Jambalaya should be full of flavor, this was super bland. Other dishes like the BBQ bacon burger had very little sauce. The chili fries just tasted like they poured a can of Hormel chili over the fries..I've always said great service can make mediocre food good. Unfortunately, the service we experienced made the food even worse! Our food and our kid's food came out separately (5 min apart) by two different servers that weren't even our server! My wife asked for a glass of ice to put in her drink as all of hers had melted and that never came. Our server only checked in one time throughout the entire meal until he brought us our checks, which took an extremely long time since last checking in. If you are looking for a good time you should look elsewhere. We won't be returning and do not recommend you giving it a try.

Five dollar tacos that were bland, doesn't anybody know how to spice up ground beef for tacos? Service was good she was a sweetheart. The room was cold enough to hang meat.Condensation dripping from the AC vents on the table, I had to move. Menu looked pretty standard Americanized Mexican, I don't think I'll be back.
