The Lunch Box

Stopped here after a long morning and was pleasantly impressed. Home spun and family run, I had a patty melt with probably one of the best restaurant potato salads. Only wish I had room for dessert, but I can always come back!

This is a small local diner open for breakfast and lunch. All the food is made to order and delicious. Save room for dessert, the pies and cakes and other goodies are made fresh. The diner has been at the same location for many years and every time I am in that area of Ashtabula I have to pop in for something to eat. Very friendly staff and your coffee cup is always full.

Stopped here on the way to a Niagara Falls. We were looking for the normal diner food since it pleases everyone. It's eclectic with some fun signs to look at inside. The set up was a little confusing and we were unsure if we should seat ourselves but we found a table on our own. The menu was the normal diner food. My daughter got chicken fingers, French fries and applesauce from the kids' menu. She liked it but it's kinda hard to go wrong with that. My son got 2 eggs, bacon and toast with a side pancake. The pancake was thick and good. My hubby got a breakfast wrap, which was pretty good. I got a veggie omelet (not on menu so made my own) with a biscuit. The biscuit was solid. My hubby and I got a side of fruit. It was the canned fruit cocktail with mystery fruit. Since it is summer, it would be nice to have fresh fruit. For 4 of us to eat, it was $30. That's pretty reasonable for the amount of food we got. I'd recommend checking out this place if you are looking at something quick and good.

I rarely give bad reviews, but man was my lunch bad. Service was excellent but food was awful. My salad was basically a bowl of dressing with a couple of sad iceberg lettuce leaves and my flatbread was like a white pita with a jar of the worst Alfredo sauce you've ever had dumped on top with a handful of spinach and parm. I feel pretty nauseated after eating there. In all fairness I'm a vegetarian so I like eating vegetables, a concept this place definitely doesn't understand. But my Omni husband didn't like his chicken wrap either. Fries were also very bad, which is surprising because fries by nature are usually delicious. Not here. Again though, servers were very attentive and nice so two stars for them, zero for food.

Great food and the service is amazing!! Super friendly and remember you when you come back. Loaded burrito is so good!

Best tasting coffee I've ever had, and they make one of the best omlets ever. I go there 4 or 5 times a week.

Server was very welcoming and gave me a good recommendation. I had the special which was an Asian salad and it was delicious! Needed more chicken for that price but it was good. Place was clean and simple, not a whole lot of ambiance.

Well come on this little rest is the best in Ashtabula the best it has great selection of food so happy they have more hours and what's great you can take out and share with seniors so it's all a win win and the only other restaurant is Deb's dinner terrible do not go there everything is scary we all got food poisoning and suggest u go the other way for your health for real!!!!!!The pie is great too at lunch box!!!!love it

Great service! Sweet little restaurant with good comfort food. Onion rings were awesome! freshly made with only a little batter.

Excellent family restaurant to eat at with great food, excellent prices, and even better service. Restaurant has the capacity to seat large groups (30) as well as the single diner, and everything in between. Fresh cooked selection of breakfast, lunch, and dinner food with large portions for for the budget consumer. If the entree didn't fill you up, try one of the amazing homemade, made from scratch deserts!
