I started out upstairs at the garden of Eden and felt that the service there was terrible, rude, and they closed early for being slow. I ordered two dirty martinis, and the bartender literally, and I quote said: "that is the last drink I want to make tonight." She literally walked away without another word. She charged us $16 for each martini and they were served in tiny plastic cups. I assume that the bartender needed to go home and was being overworked. She maybe needed to leave and our drinks were keeping her late. I'm not sure. I don't really know the context of what she said, but the manager didn't comp our drinks, or fix the situation even after I brought it to her attention. My leaving the upstairs rooftop bar was a blessing in disguise because I ended up getting such a great espresso martini from Joe at the bar downstairs by the lobby. I'll be back to the bar downstairs but will not return to the garden of Eden. cheers!

A sleek, sexy rooftop lounge. Great cocktails, great views. Am I really in Cleveland? My only complaint: You have to order at a designated ordering station and then wait and pick up food items or drinks. I really wish they had table service. We went on a Wednesday and so it was no issue. Our bartender Scotti made excellent cocktails. But the views, wow.

Great night out with friends and family. We went to this really nice rooftop bar celebrating a graduation. The views were awesome. The space is large, with good seating options if you're lucky. I was surprised by how fast I could get drinks at the bar, even though they were very busy. The drinks were on the expensive end, but they were poured nicely. Valet parking is also pretty expensive, about $40, but it was convenient and fast. I did not eat, but others in my party commented that the food was really good. I'll be visiting again soon for sure!

Wow. I was SO NOT impressed with this Insta icon place. I was here when they were Azure and was underwhelmed then. Eden has dropped the bar to unprecedented low levels. I rarely write a bad review but I don't want folks to get scammed into spending a lot of money for a place that fails to represent the city well. Atmosphere is low class urban for sure. Folks lighting up joints and stinking the place up. Drunk 20 something's puking in the bathroom. There is a line to order drinks that takes about an hour to get through. When you get to the point you can order bartenders are taking care of folks who just walked up to the bar. I give credit to them they were working hard but where are the servers? This is a high class cocktail lounge at a downtown hotel? The drinks were ok but certainly not worth the $20 price tag and the environment didn't add to make up for the high charge. There were also youngsters with wristbands that I guess labeled them as non drinkers but who wants kids at a high end cocktail lounge? Save your time and your money. Head to the Hilton rooftop or out to the East side to RH rooftop. Way more high class andWorth the hype.

If you want a nice rooftop with good food check this place out! The portion sizes of the food make them shareable and delicious! The drinks are a little pricey average 16 but yummy. The beef empanadas were so good!

My family has been wanting to come here for a while, and we had a great time! We were worried about it getting too busy, so we came right when it opened. You order food and drinks at the bar, and when it's ready, you grab it and bring it back to your table. I love the rooftop vibe overlooking Cleveland. Loved the neon signs and hanging garland. The food was phenomenal, and the music was definitely dance worthy.

My friends and I were so excited to visit this rooftop bar for the ambiance and views but it didn't totally live up to the instagram hype. The bar is within The 9 hotel. It's very cute inside and has plenty of floral themed photo ops. I would consider hosting a birthday gathering or cocktail hour with colleagues here. The views are mostly of Cleveland's surrounding buildings as expected but underwhelming. The bartender TJ was nice and made our drinks quickly despite the lengthy line. However, our drinks were way overpriced. I should be buzzed at minimum after paying $20 for one cocktail. The prices simply don't align with the food and drink quality.

It has been really, really weird to watch the Garden of Eden continually swap up its branding over the years. Over the past 6 years, they've gone through three entirely different iterations of the restaurant, wiping the slate clean of their previous branding each time they start. This most recent one happened either late 2022 or early 2023, so beware of any photos/reviews prior to that. They may not be accurate. The giant, green grassy sculptures are definitely gone. Now, the restaurant has kicked out their upscale, "Greek gods" theme for a tiki lounge feel. Reservations are gone; walk-ins only. Some of the seating has been removed, making room for a kitchen, pay-to-choose-the-music-jukebox, and pool table. Cigars are now allowed and encouraged, with the Garden of Eden selling cigars and ashtrays up on the bar. Oh, and Happy Hour seems to be gone too. :( Draft beer seems to be gone, but it was replaced with a cute Patron Margarita "Tree" that is perfect for people wanting TikTok or Instagram Reels. (Or people with friends. That too.)I'm not really sure I like the changes yet, but it's definitely different from my previous review, so it's time to update. ACCESSIBILITY: -The swinging benches can hold up to 500 pounds total.-Accessing the Metropolitan at the 9's building has a ramp instead of the few stairs. The Garden of Eden is accessible via the elevator. Getting to the men's restroom may be difficult with a wheelchair (small corridor), but women's would be fine. You could go to a different floor of the hotel for the men's restaurant if needed. PROS:-Gone are the reservations! As I complained in previous reviews, it was aggravating to get kicked out some of their seating because they were "large parties only" - so you were stuck with sitting in chairs instead of the comfortable couches when the restaurant was otherwise dead. You're pretty much at "first come, first serve" for seating.-Some of the seating is pretty cool. To go with the Tiki theme, they hung swinging, two-person benches with beachy "walls" between seating areas to give a sense of privacy. I really, really loved swinging on these. -Their high top chairs are still some of the most comfortable high top chairs I've ever sat on. I'd definitely recommend. CONS:-I think the vibe here is really going to vary on the customers that day, and that's an odd thing to think. But if there are a lot of loud cigar smokers, it's going to have a completely different smell than a bunch of quiet date-nighters. With anyone having the ability to control the music, you might be listening to death metal (as we ended up doing) or you might be listening to country. -It doesn't feel as clean and spotless as it used to. Chair cushions are obviously stained. The pool table is just covered in stains. Lots of random garbage on the floor (not necessarily the restaurant's fault).-The cigar smoke really changes up the vibe. I actually enjoy a cigar on occasion, but it wasn't necessarily the "smell" that looked like it should go with the atmosphere up here. And there were quite a few people smoking cigars. I really thought the "rooftop" thing would keep the smell from accumulating, but the high-fenced perimeter doesn't allow for too much airflow. Sit away from the pool table or bar area if you're sensitive. Seems like everyone had them there.-I'm not sure this place is really for beer. With no draft, we tried to order a few of the craft cans they had. They were out of both we tried. So cocktails it was.-No Happy Hour. That really made this place an inexpensive treat during dead hours. Now it's definitely pricey with cocktails between $15 to $20 a pop. (They were okay pours. Nothing to write home about but not terrible.)

When the weather is 70 degrees and sunny, you take advantage of rooftop happy hours! Garden of Eden is at the top of The 9 hotel & has a really cool ambiance with lots of plants, comfy chairs, pool tables, and swings - all with a great view of the city. For how great the ambiance is, however, the food/drinks were super hit or miss. The sparkling rosé was a good choice (probably because bartenders don't have any variability with that), and the espresso martinis were outstanding (heavy on the coffee flavor and a great velvety texture). The mojitos, however, had very little to no mint & both appeared & tasted just like a mix of rum & sprite. For the price, I expected a lot more. The food also is quite pricey for the fact that the spring rolls tasted exactly like they had just come out of a freezer pack & definitely weren't fresh made at the bar. Overall, I would go back for views and a glass of wine, but I wouldn't spend my money on the cocktails or food.Food: C-Drinks: C+Service: B-Ambiance: A-
