The Cleveland Bagel Cafe Kent

This beautiful French tutor originally caught my attention when visiting my sister at Kent State and knew I had to try it out. I was shocked how trendy and how peaceful it is inside. It's literally the perfect coffee shop. Decor is stunning and it reminded me of being in Europe. I will get this out of the way and say yes - it is very pricy for a college town coffee shop. My matcha was $7.00 for a small size. I will say it was delicious - Barista said she put too much matcha and had me try it and was really kind and offered to remake it if I didn't like it. I almost took off a star for this reason, however it is a small business and they do need to charge more to make ends meet and I'm happy to support. My favorite part of this coffee shop was the upstairs! - It makes Cleveland Bagel so unique compared to other shops around. It's quiet upstairs and they even have their own bathroom upstairs which is a nice touch. I'm sad I don't live close because I would be here daily. Overall, this is a must try cafe!

Cleveland Bagel is a great place to get a bagel on the go or something more unique to the region. The most popular bagel I have found is the Rosemary Sea Salt bagel but be forewarned there is only a handful of choices to choose from. I enjoy getting a dozen bagels and 2 tubs of schmear when I have company at my house for an easy breakfast with decent prices. My only complaint is that their breakfast sandwiches don't have any meat options, only vegan sausage. It would be nice to see some new flavors in the future, maybe something sweet like a cinnamon crunch bagel. One thing unique about their bagels is that they have a crunchy tough outside and are soft and chewy on the inside more similar to something from New York City rather than Panera. Ordering is super easy, just order at the counter and they will have it ready quickly. Seat yourself by one of the tables at the big windows and watch the world go by or go upstairs to the cozy reading nook to enjoy your bagels and coffee. One thing to note is that the restaurant itself is ADA accessible but the building is an old historic building and there is only stairs to get up there.

We stopped here for a quick breakfast before we got on the road and it was a nice surprise! The bagels and hash browns are fantastic. I got a drip coffee and my wife ordered an iced mocha, which were both great. I likely would've ordered what she got if I had the hindsight into how good it was. The service was great. They were nice and friendly staff. We were in and out of there in no time. This bagel shop is exactly what Kent needed!

I came here with my husband while visiting our old stomping grounds. This was where the Starbucks used to be when we went to school. It remained pretty similar inside with a good bit of space and tables. I got the iced mocha which was fabulous. My husband got plain black coffee which sadly he said had an odd flavor. We both got a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel and split a side of hash browns. The hashbrowns were a little bland. We both loved our sandwich but it was a little dry, maybe I would add cream cheese or something next time. Overall, the staff was nice and the bagels were good!

Great bagel sandwiches, the bagels are so good and there are a lot of options so there is something for everyone. Very cool spot, cool decor and love the upstairs seating. Service was very nice and our food was made very quick. The smoked salmon bagel sandwich was very good, the bagel was perfectly toasted, the salmon was very good, the capers cut through the fatty salmon, and the tomato added freshness.

Right next to Kent State campus this is a good spot to get a bagel and a drink. Bagels are good and they have a variety of flavors. Service is friendly and quick. Downstairs is a little loud and there is a flow of customers coming and going. If you want something a little more quiet try the upstairs sitting area.Okay this will only appeal to a small audience but this place has great napkins. I hate little, cheap, nearly useless napkins. Owner, don't get rid of these napkins save money somewhere else.

Love the bagels but don't understand the policy of them needing to bake my bagels for 6 minutes at "this time of the day" when the bins are overflowing with bagels. I guess they expecting a rush of bagel customers in the next 6 minutes. Oh well...

Stopped in on a visit to Kent State and was looking for a quiet spot to grab a bagel and coffee. 2 out of 3 accomplished - quiet spot for working and a decent cup of joe. The bagel sandwich (egg, cheese) on plain left a lot to be desired. The egg was processed or at least appeared to be so and the cheese was bland. Bagel seemed a little crunchy for my likely as I tend more towards New York style but that's a preference. I do recommend upstairs if you are looking for more quiet comfort and I may be back but would limit to just a cup of coffee.

This was the best bagel sandwich I've ever had! I had the smoked salmon sandwich and it exceeded my expectations! Fresh appearance; fresh tasting and satisfied my stomach yelling for lunch! Bagel was crunchy on the outside and soft inside; smoked salmon tasted like it was swimming 10 minutes ago; just enough cream cheese and a fresh tomato with just enough capers! It was fast; fresh and served in a clean atmosphere with friendly service. You have to try this place!
