If you're looking for good German food in the Sandusky area, look no further! We came in early June, so all of the dining was outside behind the building at plastic picnic tables. It's rustic, but it was enjoyable! The sausages and sauces were wonderful! as were the sides.

Best German food, story telling, history, bier, and outdoor atmosphere. Polka on Friday nights, inside bar. Great host Tom Bodner, Founder / Owner/ Chef. If you haven't been to Germany, don't bother , go here!!!!!

Great vibes and very welcoming. Highly recommend, especially on bonfire night. Owner is also very nice and the beer was spectacular. Will be back soon!

The food was great and the hospitality was awesome. We really enjoyed the homestyle cooking. There was even a fresh apple pie at the end.

I really wanted to love this place (famous last words) I adore German food and was really looking forward to this. I will say the owner is quite personable and the concept is great, but the execution is sorely lacking. If I had a dollar for every time the guy had said "freezer" I could have paid for our meal plus the meal we bought an hour later. Everything tasted very old. The pretzels were freezer burnt, the bread the snitzel and sausages were served on was stale (and poorly hidden with toasting). We never got our sour kraut balls (probably a blessing), and the beer cheese was congealed. Nothing here is fresh. The beer selection is great, and it wouldn't be a bad spot to grab a beer with friends, just eat BEFORE you go and bring some Lysol wipes for the picnic tables.

Hugely hugely disappointed. Had researched this online and had looked forward to taking out of town guests here. When we arrived we discovered that it was noting like the website led us to expect. The interior photos show what must be the hall rental which upon arrival looked to be long unused while the dining was in the back outside under a tent without handicapped access. The website says "wheelchair accessible" which was important to us and while there is a ramp at the back of the building it offered access to the unused main building. We wandered around looking for someone to assist us but could find no one, even by phone. Parking on street was terrible and the long walk up the drive to where the Biergarten sign directed us was unmanageable for a member of our party. It looked as though you needed to squeeze past an old pick up truck to reach the Biergarten. Im a business owner and I hate to give a negative review because I know how hard we work but that website left us so misinformed that I feel I have to review in order for others not to make the mistake we made. Since we weren't able to sample the food I am not going to give the lowest rating but I believe a low rating is required because we all felt terribly misled and were left to figure out alternate dinner plans last minute. I wish I had visited the club in advance to see exactly how different the experience would be as opposed to the experience the website promised
