Today I called in a lunch carryout order for a Turkey Reuben with thousand island dressing on the side. It came with chips or I had the option of upgrading to fries or coleslaw, but opted for the sandwich itself that also came with a dill pickle- no chips or anything else. It was a chilly day to walk even a block downtown but was totally worth it. This was my first time ever at this restaurant. My impression was that it is a quaint and comfortable upscale cafe' and would be a very pleasant place to dine in. However, I went to the register to pick up my order and reluctantly went back out into the frigid weather.I'm very picky about my Turkey Reuben and this one was amazing! The first thing I noticed is that the turkey is high quality and not the preservative filled deli variety that some restaurants serve. I asked for the dressing on the side because of too many experiences with sandwiches drowned in dressing. I don't think I would have even minded if this sandwich had been drowned in the clearly homemade-in-house thousand island dressing. The dressing had a wonderful certain tang to it that wasn't bland like some other thousand islands but also wasn't over the top. It was perfect. I'm not explaining it well but can tell you it was delicious!! I thought I was only going to eat eat half but ended up eating the whole sandwich. It wasn't at all greasy so I honestly felt like it was a very healthy lunch in addition to being soooo delicious. I look forward to the opportunity to dine in at The Adams Street Cafe' and would definitely order takeout again as well. The sandwich was made exactly as ordered and included eating utensils. The person who checked me out was also extremely pleasant. What else could you want?! Since I work nearby, I will absolutely be back and highly recommend this spot! Check out my picture below (which doesn't do it justice).

Never had a reuben sandwich before that had chunks of meat instead of slices. I prefer stacked sandwiches and this was such a disappointment.

We only recently discovered this place, having been in there about two weeks ago for lunch. Then I had the horseradish and mushroom burger, with fries. The wife had the peppered smoked turkey salad. Both items were great and we knew we had a place we would be coming to a lot. The fries were the skinnier kind, which I generally don't like, but even they were very good. But the real revelation came this past Friday when we went for the family style dinner they have on Friday nights starting at 6:00. This week's menu was Fried chicken, with honey butter, Nashville hot, and horse radish sauces, plus gouda cheese bread, roasted broccoli, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn casserole, and peach cobbler with ice cream. Everything but the bread and the cobbler came out on a large dinner platter, heaped up as there was so much. We spent a minute just gawking at how much food was there! But then my stomach growled and I attacked. It was remarkable how good all the food was. It isn't fancy, but it is extremely good. I did not care for the sauce for the chicken though. The Nashville hot was way too hot for me, the honey butter was even a bit hot, and the horseradish didn't have the bite I'm used to from horseradish, basically just lacking in flavor. So, the next time we will tell them to hold the sauces, which is perfectly fine as the chicken was so good. The broccoli was very fresh, the corn casserole we ate every last morsel of, and I was very saddened not to be able to eat all the mashed potatoes and gravy. I didn't eat my cobbler yet (I already had a sharp pain in my side from having eaten way too much already), but the wife said she loved hers. The service was great too, even though there was only one server working! She ran the entire time we were there, and despite this, she was still very attentive and efficient. She even ran outside into the snow after someone to give them a grocery bag (which they hadn't asked for) as they had so many takeout boxes! The quantity of food was amazing for how much there was of everything. And it wasn't just us who found it this way as everyone we saw leave had takeout boxes. What we took home with us was another large meal, and it warmed up very well. To summarize, this place is great. The food is great, the portions are large, service is great, and their space is cool. The only bad thing I can think to say about them is that they're on the wrong side of town. I wish they were out by the airport so we didn't have to drive all the way downtown to go there.

Stopped here after going to the art museum. Great place for a sandwich, well priced. Ordered pulled pork sandwich, no need to upgrade to fries, their potato chips are so tasty! Also split a salad. Thought the quinoa and chick peas would be sprinkled on top but they were formed into a patty, fried and put on top. Would be good if this was explained on menu, otherwise salad was good and very fresh. Great service. Would definitely try this place again when I'm in town.

I had the tofu sandwich and the soup if the day (sweet potato, kale, and corn). Both were sensational!!The tofu sandwich lists having an orange on it which my server couldn't help explain. It turns out the sandwich tastes like an Asian orange ginger chicken concept. It was j I wud and absolutely delightful. It was seriously one of the best sandwiches I have had. The orange blended in perfectly and the bread had a light crisp heat still melted away in my mouth. I would HIGHLY recommend visiting this quaint little place. The environment felt kind of like a cabin with a fireplace. Warm with a bit of a Smokey scent and very cozy. I came off hour so I could see it getting kind of crowded. I look forward to bringing friends here in the future.
