That Place on 26th St

I sincerely miss the old "Corner Tavern" days. They were stolen from us all a couple years ago, and I never got over it.There's something so appealing to me about a real corner bar.The smells of smoke and beer and short-order cooking...the sounds of mindless sports shows on the TV - even the Price is Right makes for good watching...the murmur of the type of chatter that seems so important at the time...I miss all of these things so much, but I'm here to tell you, That Place on 26th St still has it all and they deliver both barrels!The place was PACKED, so I didn't try to get lunch yesterday, but I'll be heading back very soon cause the reason the place was PACKED was the food they were serving - the day's special was stromboli and one after another came in and ordered one or two or three, some stayed and ate, some left with their orders, but the flow never even slowed!Yes, smoking is permitted, but so what? If that bothers you, you're probably better off in a safe little corporate "pub".THIS is a REAL tavern and they are worth more than a try.Stop in, grab some beers and a bite and enjoy all the memories they bring up!

If you're looking for wing take-out, That Place offers tasty customizable options. Their pizza is not worth it because it tastes like pre-baked crust. It's one of few smoking bars left in Erie. If you're not a fan of smelling like an ash tray, this will not be your jam.

I'm new to Erie and last night was my first time in That Place, the food was really good and the service was spot on, Aaron was an awesome bartender and I will definitely come back.

Tonight...10/20/2016.... Visited That Place on 26th...was one of my favorite first places to pick. Had greek burger and greek fries special, wife had philly steak hoagie. Well to say the service before with even the same order weeks ago...was great. But, tonight i had a burger which burger meat was old to tainted with a flavor greek sauce couldn't cover.. Ate half to realize it was bad. Got sick shortly after being home. Didn't have the heart to say something, but after getting sick i have half the nerve to go send health inspector in and kick whoever the cooks ass was for serving bad meat.. Thanks for making a place i like to feel i'd never go to try to ever eat again. Wouldn't give a star but i had to.

Nice clean place with kind staff , plenty of tv's, great food , awesome prices , & (drum roll) Chris is the only business owner I know of that was genius enough to put usb outlets in conveniently throughout the bar so customers can charge their phones. Love it.

I've been here several times. Always great service and food was excellent. Staff was very courteous and accommodating.

The food is the cheapest in town without sacrificing quality. Weekly specials are homemade, just like mom makes. Recently had pork chops with scalloped potatoes for under $8! The bar food is great too, but them specials are a diamond in the rough. Bartender Marley is the coolest bartender in town. Highly recommend this place for food and great service.

Most delicious home style cooking I have ever had. Prices were so cheap and the service was very good. Would definitely go back.

My fiancée and I ordered takeout from That Place tonight. The food was good and hot, we enjoyed our beer while we were waiting for the food, and the staff were cool. Overall we enjoyed That Place and since we live in the area, it's definitely not going to be our last visit there.P.S. Get the Butter Parmesan wings. Trust me.

Great food and great prices. Only issue is the smoke. They need a little better ventilation... all in all i still go at least once a week because food is so good.
