I was in the mood for Indian today and stumbled upon Taste of Kerala on Uber Eats. It's located in Woodmere on Chagrin Blvd. smack dab in the middle of lots of other eateries and shopping centers. In the front of the building there's an Indian grocery store with the same name, but once you head around to the back, you'll see the entrance to the restaurant. There's ample parking and a small patio. I wanted to try something beyond my usual chicken masala or butter chicken, so I asked for a recommendation and placed an order for pickup over the phone. The employee recommended the malabar chicken, a coconut curry dish, however I opted for a cashew curry dish. The chattined chicken korma was super tasty, not too spicy, and full of flavor. The chicken was super moist and tender and It came with a good amount of jasmine rice and two pieces of garlic naan. The naan was moist in some areas but somewhat overcooked in others rendering it a little bit tough to eat. I also got an appetizer of samosas, which were absolutely incredible! The potatoes were packed with flavor and the pastry outside was both flaky and soft. The samosas came with two dipping sauces, one chutney and one that tasted like a sweet tea dipping sauce. Both were really good. Overall the meal was very tasty and had great flavors. My only complaint was the size of the chicken entree. It was pretty small in comparison to the amount of rice. The sauce that it came in was really tasty, but was quickly swallowed up once I put it over my rice. A slightly larger to-go container would have solved this problem or less rice. I will say, I didn't finish the entire meal and definitely felt full. I'm happy to have discovered this place that's been in an area I frequent for over 8 years. I look forward to trying another new dish in the near future.

LOVED the chicken puffs and curry chicken. The butter chicken was mediocre. Was expecting jasmine or basmati ruce, but it was mire like Uncle Ben's..

Food is very authentic as I'm told with a couple of people who grew up with south Indian cuisine. The spices have not been modified to accommodate the American palette. Since this restaurant focused on southern Indian cuisine, we tried to order only South Indian entrees with 2 exceptions (masala dosa and palak paneer). The mango lassi is made fresh with real mangos, the freshness of the mangoes is evident and no extra sugar. For appetizers we got chicken cutlet, veg cutlet parippu vada and Gobi 65. All were wonderful. Although I was not expecting the chicken cutlet to be made with very finely ground chicken. What's a great way to start the meal. Hard to believe but it gets better with the meal. For our mains we got: palak paneer, vendakai masala (okra), eggplant masala, kappa with green curry, goat curry in bone. We ordered medium spice level on all the entrees and it was ok for me. My favorite was the goat curry with bone, the meat was tender and the flavor profile was out of this world weather you eat it with naan or rise. Awesome food can't wait to go back for my next meal.

Taste of Kerala has been in my monthly lunch for quite some time now and it is always delicious. The food is always great and served in a timely manner. This trip I decided to have the samosa to start and the butter chicken and naan as the main course. For those who like some spice they will certainly spice up the dish for you. Always a quick, easy and delicious stop.

So good!!! The chili chicken was soo good esp with the naan. Naan was so good. Chicken biryani extra spicy was really spicy. Goat biryani also good. Chicken biryani came with boiled egg. Also came with raita (watery but good). The samosas were also good. Came with green and immili (tamarind) chutney... not so good. The entrance is off to the side and was a little confusing to find. Had I just followed my GPS I think I would have been fine. I saw the kerala grocery store and thought I had arrived. Then I didn't see the road go around back so I went around the other way and came to a door that says go to the front.

Very flavorful authentic Indian dishes; such a great alternative with Ch--lah being catty-corner across Chagrin. I loved their lamb curry dish and their samosas could be a stand alone meal with some veggies. I've also had a shrimp dish from here that was filling and even better the next day. You'll be pleased.

I have ordered take out from here multiple times. The goat curry and the chicken tikka masala are incredible. Both have really tasty sauces that are perfect with their naan. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The food here is flavorful and feels handmade with love. Whatever is lacking in ambience is made up by the absolute authentic deliciousness of the food.Reduced to 4 stars due to kitschy ambience.
