Susie's Homestyle Cafe

The server was really nice and this place was busy on Sunday morning. It's a small so your order's not getting lost. The decor is clean. We came for the wooly bear burger and we got it. Burger was a bit of a mess, supposed to be. The fries were my favorite and I'll come back for them.

Wonderful little hole in lin the wall. Great food all the service was friendly. My husband got the corned beef hash it was real corned beef cut into chunks not that mushy stuff from a can. I got the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were light and fluffy the gravy was excellent. My daughter got the pancake we usually order an egg on the side Incase one pancake isn't enough. But this one was huge fluffy and good. Will definitely be back to try one of their omelets that looked amazing.

We dined here for lunch this week. The menu is diverse enough to offer something for everyone. Our party enjoyed the all day breakfast options and our meals were prepared well. My parents enjoyed their breakfast potatoes. Our service was quick and polite!

Went there on a recommendation from another restaurant. Susie got us some coffee and then left. Only server helped a couple that came AFTER us and took their order. 2 other tables were finishing up their meals..... and that was the sum total of folks in the place. 10 minutes go by and we figure the server thought Susie took our order so we cut her some slack. So I turned and said we would like to order. She gave me a "look" and said she'd get to us. Doing pretty much nothing for another 3 minutes we put down $6 for the overpriced coffee and left. If you go.......hope to heck Mz. personality is NOT working that shift.

Great food and great coffee. Our table ordered corned beef hash, breakfast bowl, biscuits and sausage gravy and a muffin. Waiter was very pleasant. Priced right.

Susies is a no-frills diner located in one of the main plazas in Vermilion. My family placed a breakfast order for pick-up while in the area. It was hard to find an accurate menu online, and note the ones on social media are not current.Since we didn't stay and dine-in, we didn't get the full impression of this quaint spot. I ordered the western omelet with home fries and a side of fruit. It was exactly what I expected! A nothing fancy omelet but hit the spot for breakfast, and the value is tremendous, especially since breakfast joints can typically be overpriced. Highly recommend getting a side of fruit - loved the huge watermelon slice in it.Also: Susie is a real person! I didn't meet her when I went, but the gal working was very nice. We will come back and try more items from their breakfast and lunch menus in the future!

This is your typical greasy spoon. I personally like those kinds of places. I do have a couple of issues with this place that I will start with. One it's kind of dirty and the whole place was like a deep fryer but it is a greasy spoon so that's generally what you should expect. My main issue is from what I understand they say their muffins are home made. They are not. Not any of them are homemade. They have some that clearly look look like they are store-bought and some that look like they could have made them. But when I went to use the restroom I walked by the kitchen and I saw several packages of muffins that were clearly store-bought. It's just kind of integrity thing for me. Also when I was there it was very busy (every table was full) and there was only one waitress who also had to ring people out. It was just a lot for one person to do. They could use another waitress at times. I do need to mention that the waitress that was working was busting her tail and provided the best customer service possible in the situation she was in. I wasn't too crazy about the coffee but it's typical diner coffee do you know what you're getting there. For breakfast I had French toast, eggs, sausage, and shredded hashbrowns. The food overall was very good the French toast was simple but it was made well, eggs are eggs, The sausage links were pretty good sometimes you can get gross ones at diners, and the hashbrowns were very good and I'm pretty picky about my hashbrowns. My friend that was with me had the corn beef hash which I tried and it was delicious. She also had a pancake. Believe me when I say if you order the pancake you only need one and I believe they sell a short stack of them there's no reason you need that many. This pancake was the size of my face and probably at least an inch thick. I didn't try it but my friend said it was delicious. What I love about this place is that it has a real homestyle feel. You can tell this is definitely a place that has a lot of regulars! I will definitely return.

Came from out of town! Best breakfast food ever! We had an interesting experience because the chef burned his hand while making my tables food, but the waitresses made up for it! They brought us a fruit plate to hold us over (when the chef burnt his hand he knocked down all the food on the line so our food was ready and then it went crashing to the floor) and kept our cups full! They had such a positive attitude and were very open about what had happened, and I believe the chef ended up being okay (he went to the hospital- grease burn ) !!! I got the breakfast bowl and it was to die for!!! The toast is super thick not super thin like other places and it was just perfect!

Let me start off with the service. Our waitress was great. She was fast and took care of our needs. My husband enjoyed his food. Mine not so much. They immediately made me another plate and the apologies just kept on coming. We were very appreciative of the $6.00 discount they gave. Now the cleanliness of this restaurant needs major attention. My husband was appalled at the site of the bathroom. I did not use the restroom. The dessert refrigerator was dirty all the way around. There are swinging doors into the kitchen area that look like they have never been cleaned along with the floors throughout. This establishment needs a heavy duty cleaning.

The service. Is great. My husband had the bbq chicken and gave it a 12 out of 10. It was that good. I had a 1/4 pound hamburger w their homemade potato chips. Delicious!!
