sumo Steakhouse & Sushi

This place has absolutely delicious food at insanely affordable prices. They are always super friendly, and clean. The place is my favorite Japanese food in Salem. The portions are also very big so expect leftovers.

I ordered the steak hibachi with noodles and fried rice and a side of the spicy crab roll. The food was excellent! Steak was super tender and cooked to a perfect medium, the noodles and fried rice were super good also. The spicy crab roll is my favorite roll from sumo I add cream cheese also to my roll. You can tell the quality of the ingredients they use in every bite! 10/10 food and the staff is great! Highly recommend!

We came here on a Saturday and the sushi selection was just very mediocre. The actual rolls were poorly constructed, not even and just carelessly made. We won't be back.

Very basic, over priced, over cooked, understaffed."Fried" rice literally had nothing in it but some type of coloring, rare steak was med well, appetizers came out much later than our entrees which means the entrees where premade and sitting in a steam table and dished out cafeteria style.

This restaurant is reasonably priced for a high end hibachi. The steak is better than most steakhouses, I highly recommend. The yumyum sauce could use a rework though.

Not writing due to quality of food. Have eaten there before and have enjoyed the food. Tried to pick up a take out order and unless I gave my wife's cell phone number no food. Her number is relatively new and I have it on speed dial and not memorized. Did not have my phone with me. Her name was not sufficient. Unfortunately because of this bad experience won't be back.

An absolutely horrible experience. After traveling 3 hours to Salem, OH for a business meeting, an Oriental style dinner sounded good. I stopped at Sumo Steakhouse & Sushi since it was close to my hotel and placed a carryout order at 5:21pm per their receipt. I ordered a beef stirfry and was told it would take about 20 minutes, which seemed a little long. After 20 minutes I asked if my meal would be ready soon and was told yes. At 30 minutes I asked again and was told they were busy with DoorDash orders. Only 4 carryout orders came in while I was waiting and I counted about 16 diners in the restaurant. At 40 minutes after ordering I cancelled my order and demanded a refund at 6:02pm. No apology, no empathy, no concern expressed from the Sumo staff. If you want good, hot, oriental food in a timely manner you will NOT find it at Sumo in Salem, OH.

Best sushi around. This place is very clean. Would give a 5 star but they have been very slow serving us every time we have gone. Other than that great.

I love the Bento Box. I don't like the soup though, that's it! The rest is really good.
