Splendid Fare Catering

Susan and her team catered our networking event for local translators and interpreters last April (2017). In addition to suggesting several possible venues (and we loved the venue we used - Putter's on Rt. 18), she met with us ahead of time to discuss the food. We decided to do food stations of various cultures - Mediterranean, French and Asian along with a dessert table. The presentation was gorgeous, and everyone raved about the food. Susan and her staff set it up and left one team member to oversee things and restock as needed, who was very friendly and helpful during the event. We are doing the same event again next month, and Splendid Fare was the obvious choice.

I was somewhat stunned to see a negative review of Splendid Fare. We have worked with Susan and her team multiple times at our own events, and have experienced her services at probably 50 events over the past 20 years- ranging from private dinner parties in Akron's finest homes, to weddings and anniversaries, to fundraisers. Every menu is thoughtfully planned, beautifully prepared and professionally served. I have watched Susan's staff stick around long after the party to attend to details - whether it's soaking a client's fine napkin to eliminate a wine spot, or making sure a kitchen is spic and span. Her staff is always well trained and friendly, and they will all go to almost any length to assure the success of an event. Her reputation as one of Akron's finest caterers is well deserved, and trust me, you'll be in good hands.

My mom used Splendid Fare Catering for my baby shower last weekend. We were very happy with Susan, her customer service, and the quality of food. We would recommend to others looking to use Splendid Fare for their special occasion!

Here's what I had to say to the owner of Splendid Fare Catering in response to my refusal to be used as a referral:"Susan,To be completely honest it was your attitude when I questioned the necessity of me paying 2 adults for a 3-4 hour bar set up for a 65 person wedding that really turned me off from using your services. I still believe this was an insane amount of time to pay 2 women to set up a bar which had mostly plastic glasses and cans of beer. You also in the same email, claimed you had free of charge set up the dessert table even though my mother-in-law was supposed to do it and treated it as some huge favor. You forgot the fact that at our meeting a few weeks before the event, you had told my mother-in-law that you would take care of it and there was no need for her to handle it at all.Add to that I found out later that some of my guests were eating on paper plates because you ran out of china - when I know we actually came in under our final guest count - was completely unacceptable to me. My husband and I were already unhappy that we had been rushed to start dinner before we were ready and then my husband and I got to eat ice cold/ stale food because it had been sitting for so long and all the food wasn't even out when we went through the line.I'm not looking for anything from you which is why I did not address these issues previously. I'd honestly like to just forget about the whole thing, but I can't in good conscience recommend you to another bride. I'm sure you have clients who adore what you do. I did not. Splendid Fare has catered dozens of arts event I am associated with. They also recently catered our small wedding. There cannot be a better caterer for a special event. When Susan asked what we had in mind for our guests, I told her 'I would not presume to tell Picasso what to paint'. That is the beauty of Susan's events. They are ingeniously thought out and so artistically presented and so the effect for your guests is both delicious and stunning. You never have to lift a finger.Very fair pricing also! Thanks SF
