Great pizza!We decided to dine in and order when we arrived. They have a simple menu of pizza and salad options. We tried the side salad, cheese pizza and meat lovers pizza. Everything arrived timely and the staff was really great since we had 4 children on our group. Recommending getting the large since a medium pizza can be eaten by one person since the crust is thin.They have an outdoor picnic area as well for warmer days.

My husband and I stopped here while passing through town because the name sounded cool. The exterior and interior are super casual but the food was super good. We had a garden salad and the vodka pizza. It was my first time having peas on a pizza and it was amazing. The staff were very friendly. I'd eat here again.

We spend quite a bit of time in Vermilion and have a had a hard time finding a go to pizza place. Soul on Fire, even though it's a bit of a drive for us, is the spot! First off, the restaurant itself is very clean, welcoming and modern. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. We got to meet the owner and he was very nice and appreciative of our business. He even let us box up what was left of our pizza and leave it in the fridge to be picked up later since we were on our way to a baseball game and didn't want to leave it in our hot car. The pizza itself is woodfire. Thinner crust, fresh meats and/or vegetables, and really, really good! Dine in or carry out - there is a fun local park near by that you can visit and have a picnic! Soul on Fire is great, We will be back soon.

This pizza is the bomb. I love a good woodgrilled pizza. Theirs is definitely memorable. I got the Cajun shrimp with white sauce. Amazing. Best pizza I had in a bit. Also got a pepperoni and mushroom pizza. Very good. Can't wait to tey more. Will be back!

First of all, I'd like to say that this is not bad pizza at all. It is more than halfway decent and probably deserves more than two stars (but no more than three). But right now, at this moment? Right now now I feel like I've been the victim of false advertising.This pizza is "wood-fired" in the most perfunctory sense of the word. Honestly, if I hadn't seen it bake for myself I wouldn't have believed it. In fact I still don't. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that it is a gas-fired pizza.The texture of the dough is all wrong. There are certain aspects that one expects when they order an authentic wood-fired pizza. The dough should be thin and crispy, yet pliable, and the crusts and upper tips of the toppings should be lightly charred. The crust should break somewhat like a baguette and the cheese should strreeecccchhhhh when you pull a piece away from the others.This pizza is like eating cake. And the cheese refuses to stay on the cake. Never before in my life have I eaten a slice of "wood-fired" pizza with a fork. I didn't have a choice tonight.They also call this a "New York style pizza," which it is surely not. This is far closer to "Detroit style" pizza than anything else. New York style pizza is very thin, slightly limp and light on toppings. It is designed to be folded over and eaten with one hand if necessary.It also won't put you to sleep.This is the kind of pizza that makes me want to take a three hour nap and wake up upset after I eat it. And good luck folding a slice of this in half without squirting pizza shit all over your wrists.You know what? If I just knew what kinda pizza I was getting myself into here I probably would have not made this particular choice on this particular afternoon. I would have waited for a different time, a different mood.But I was deceived.

I will admit... I have a weakness for Napali style pizza.My recent visit to Soul On Fire pizza made me ecstatic that there is a nearish place that almost exactly captures what is a Napali pie.What, you may ask, is this mythical pie from the land. of Napali?Specifically, its a pie made with a certain type of dough and super fresh toppings. Most average 12" in diameter. Then it is baked in a wood-fired stone oven in about 90 seconds. During that time the baker uses the peel (the giant pizza spatula) to nearly continually turn the pie on the stone to ensure even baking.The result is a crust reminiscent of naan. Bubbly and crunchy and chewy with the occasional blackend bit that has the toppings super hot and bubbly. It is not like any pie made on a conveyor chain or flat oven. No two are the same.Soul On Fire captures the essence of this style pizza with a few non traditional twists:1. Gas fire. I will grant that this is vastly simpler than locating and using wood properly. Also cleaner overall. But... the wood imparted a touch of flavor that the sterile gas does not.2. Rotating pizza stone... The floor of their oven turns to expose - unexpose the pie to the direct heat. This eliminates the need for a skilled peel-weilder. Any boob can plop the pie on the stone and wait the requisite number of laps with a turn at some point.3. Temperature. We watched many pies being made and the fire must just not be as hot as the traditional oven. 4-8 minutes bakimg time. Now, don't get me wrong! This place makes a GREAT pizza. It is as close as we can get in this neck of the woods to the real deal.I super ultra recommend this pizza!!!It is superior to anything in our area (North Ohio, from Toledo to Youngstown)When you go, get a 12" for IMHO more traditional portions and bake. Get a few... You should go here. Seriously.Your mileage may vary.

Ordered vegi pizza with cauliflower crust. Was disappointed - center of pizza was wet and soggy. Had to throw out pizza - not appitizing. Not sure I will return to order another pizza.

Friends said this was great so checked it out. We had a gluten free pizza, a cauliflower crust pizza w vegan cheese and a regular crust with vegan cheese (they have regular cheese for everyone else). We're the ones who usually eat all but the crust edge but we ate all of it bc it was amazing! Everything was so good...service super friendly and accommodating! Sauce is so good too (which is sometimes an afterthought)! Def will be back & tell all our friends!

Outstanding. Yesterday was my first ordering from Soul On Fire. I got the Chili infused Honey pizza and it blew me away on how good it was. Would highly recommend ordering from here if you haven't already. I am looking forward to ordering again from here in the near future.
