Decided to go on a last minute trip and Sojourner's happened to have one suite left. Booked it online. We stayed at the "In The Woods" cabin. It was attached to another unit with a shared parking lot. Upon entering, we instantly felt like we were in a log cabin in the woods. A little kitchenette as we walked in, a dining room table, a nice living room to start with. Off the living room were two bedrooms. And there was one large bathroom with a jacuzzi tub. The living room had a gas fireplace and nice sized tv. The couch was pretty comfy although the recliner on it was broken. The place was just rustic and beautiful. I loved all the woodwork and the ceilings. The jacuzzi was perfect for relaxing. I used it twice in our overnight stay. A few suggestions I had after staying here: ceiling fans in the rooms, a fridge with a freezer for ice, and maybe a chair or two outside the cabin to enjoy the view of the woods. Honestly, if it had one bedroom, it's perfect for a romantic getaway. Two bedrooms seem too large for an intimate space with one bathroom. We did check out the trail in the woods before it got dark and that was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, it's winter here and it rained the next day or the outdoor fire pit would have been nice to enjoy too. Our hostess did provide us with a little container of ice when we checked in inquiring about ice. That was very kind and helpful. We're definitely keeping this place in mind for another getaway weekend. Very relaxing.

My wife and I absolutely love this place.Quiet, Peaceful, Relaxing are the words I choose. We come here just to get away from the city.Plenty of things to do! Heini's Cheese Factory, Der Dutchman, Breidenbach Winery, and plenty of antiques and primitives to venture to.Gwen is the perfect hostess. We go there couple times a year for the weekends. You should to!!!!!

Lovely quiet spot that is well located to see all the towns in the area. We loved our stay in the 2 bedroom lodge unit. We had a deck overlooking the small lake. Very clean and comfortable. Nicely equipped kitchen and comfy living room. We loved making fires at the fire pit just below our room. Would highly recommend!

We stayed here for two nights. We had a lovely suite. There was a fireplace ,Jacuzzi bath, and full kitchen. It was very clean. The bedroom was really comfortable. Though we went in the dead of winter you could tell there were trails and a large pond. We really enjoyed seeing so much of the Amish country. They were only a half hour from the major stores or movie theaters so that was nice. The owners worked very hard to make sure that our stay was pleasant. I cannot think of one negative thing to say about this lovely experience.

My wife stayed at the Sojourner's Lodge & Log Cabin Suites last summer and raved about the gorgeous surroundings and peaceful setting. She suggested spending New Year's Eve there for a quiet change-of-pace. We asked another couple to join us for fun and fellowship, playing board games and sharing in some sparkling grape juice to toast the new year. When we arrived, we were greeted by a wonderful receptionist with a friendly personality. She even accommodated my request for an early check-in when I called the day-before - no extra charge! The cabin was amazing - very charming and warmed by a fireplace with instant-on capabilities (see photo). The view of the lake was awesome although we chose to stay indoors. They even offer video rentals for a dollar.Although this was the most laid-back New Year's Eve we've ever celebrated, it may be the most memorable as we kicked off 2014 with great friends and a relaxing evening.I look forward to returning in warmer seasons where we can explore the grounds and get closer to nature.

Well we were looking for a last minute get away and they had an opening. Now we know why! We arrived to find out that there were a list of rules that we never received in our email. The rules included not utilizing the pond that is advertised on their website and no fires after ten pm. We wanted to turn around and walk away when we arrived and we didn't. Now we regret it. If you want to stay in a pretty room and look at nature this is your place. But if you want to have a fire after ten, if you want to fish or paddle boat, not your place and oh, no drinking alcoholic beverages outside of your room. I kind of felt like I was living at home and sixteen again. Too many rules and nothing to do, but look at the pretty pond and surroundings. PS the rooms are set up for four people, but they charge thirty dollars a day for additional couples. I guess when I asked if they gave a military discount, and they said, "no, just 55 and older discount", it was for a reason. This may be a great place for the older couples or less active couples who just want peace and quiet in a pretty setting.

I had the privilege of staying here almost 4 years ago and it was absolutely AMAZING. I was in awe of how beautiful the entire property was. We checked in late to an incredible 2 bedroom suite with a full kitchen, living room with comfy couches, jacuzzi tub and a little dining table. The night we checked in it was late, we were lucky to find some summer shandy from a gas station in town and deli meats, cheese and bread from a local Amish store, which were all soooooooo good. Just as we crashed on the couch to grub before bed an insane thunderstorm rolled in and we decided to eat on the porch overlooking the property lake and enjoyed the weather. I have always told people if for some reason they find themselves in Amish country Ohio, you HAVE to stay at the Sojourner's lodge!!!

Through my hubby's magical Google-fu powers, he found this place while we were looking for a last minute weekend getaway near some places we wanted to visit (namely the Wilds and the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad). We were able to get in due to a cancellation, and as this is a family run small business, we needed to leave a message and wait for a call back, which we received fairly quickly and booking was fairly easy. We spent two nights there, found it to be in a beautiful location, and the lodge itself was beautiful with exquisite log cabin detailing everywhere. We were in a suite with a kitchen and a superbly awesome jacuzzi tub for two. The bed was comfy. The couch was comfy. The view was amazing, and the area was quiet and peaceful. We were content just hanging out in the suite. The suite was very clean and well maintained, so we instantly felt comfortable and at home. We didn't get a chance to try the outdoor fire pit, but we would love to come back for a longer stay sometime. There is a lot to see and do in the surrounding Amish country, so be careful driving to avoid the horses and buggies. We can't wait to go back!
