My friends and I recently gave this place another try, and I'm glad that we did! As soon as you walk through the door, you're enveloped with the warm, delicious scent of smoked foods. The atmosphere is quaint and cozy with many TVs to watch. I had the mashed potato pizza. I highly recommend eating it there, fresh out of the oven on a pizza stand on the table. With a beer or soda. The cornbread is stellar. The baked beans have chunks of brisket in them. And the Italian lemon cake is perfection! The food, the service, everything was top-notch! Highly recommended for pickup, too!

1. IMO, the vast majority of Smoke BBQ Grill reviews posted within the last 2 years seem the most accurate. Not sure if there was a change in ownership/management since that time but I concur with recent positive reviews.2. BBQ has to be one of the most contentious culinary topics of all time. Whether you're a fan of either Texas or Kansas City BBQ, keep in mind this is northeastern Ohio. In this neck of the woods, we know more about New England sap buckets than we do smoking brisket south of the Mason-Dixon Line. 3. What I liked. The portions are HUGE to the point I would suggest every two people order a different side dish so you can share. The pricing is very good based on the portions served. Fresh cut fries appeared to be served by the pound. I had brisket & ribs combo. The brisket was juicy & both had a smoky taste. Traditionalists may sharply disagree with my liking the cornbread. Imagine pineapple upside down cake minus the pineapple. More of a dessert than side but very good. Just don't expect your typical Johnny cake.4. Indifference. The baked beans were good but seemed a bit bland to me. The BBQ sauce was good though I would have enjoyed some different flavor options. Service could have benefited from having one more server on the floor. Maybe one was scheduled but called off. But the interaction with our server was positive overall. The decor is nothing special.5. What I didn't like. The restaurant was cold. Ironically, another review made the same comment about a past February visit. The chill even cooled our meals before they were served more than I preferred. Seating in the booths can also be a little tight.In summary, I will choose Smoke BBQ Grill over any of the chain BBQ restaurants in Mentor.________Fellow Yelpers! Smoke is a great restaurant with great service and great food. We have been here a handful of times, and each have been a positive experience. They have booths and tables, making a family dinner night comfortable to sit in; we have always seen other people getting to go orders, so I'm sure those aren't a bad option either! Their BBQ sauce is outstanding, and we really enjoy their fries. Their burgers are always cooked as desired, and even if you're not a big barbecue sauce person, they have a good selection of homemade pizzas and other burgers to suit your needs. Our waitress, Jordan, was always around and was handling all of her tables very well, and we hope to have her again when we decide to go to Smoke.

Smoke BBQ Grill has a great pulled pork dinner. Brisket has good flavor but dry in my experiences. Their bbq sauce portion is very small for a dinner. Brisket pizza is pricey but very tasty! Service is always quick and friendly.

I've been on the search for good ribs and bbq items. My search is over!!! The food here is AMAZING. All of the sides are homemade, the ribs were delicious and not dry, their homemade sauce was perfect. I liked the atmosphere also, a nice little cozy place. Our server was a pro. Prices are decent. All around impressed and happy.

This is not how real bbq taste. The food is horrible. I was looking for a bbq spot that was really good, so that I didn't have to go to Cleveland, and this place was a let down. This place gets a 1 star rating.
