Skippereno's Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria

I've written a review elsewhere for Skippereno's but thought it worth saying it again--we enjoyed eating there. Good food (warm to the end), service was good (for the name of our waitress), and look forward to coming back soon. Next time I'll try lasagna, though they might have a hard time competing with the lasagna at Olive Garden. Can't wait to compare the two. And, yes, I'll be telling our friends about this restaurant, since some of our friends are close by.

Some of the best lasagna I've ever had outside of south Philly. Smallish restaurant with limited parking. Great attentive service.

Small older restaurant, nothing fancy, but I had a huge piece of lasagna that was the best I've ever had. Our waitress had worked there a long time and was good with us. We can't wait to go back again on our next trip to Erie!

The waitress was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. They had some interesting options. I would come back.

Imagine McDonald's. Started making pizza. Freakin awful. Ordered a 6 cut. Threw it away after 1/2 way through my second slice. What a waist of money and time. How does a place serving this stay in buisness.

First impression: the smell at the entrance and inside the dining room. There is an odd cleaning agent scent reminiscient of Pine Sol mixed in with a bathroom smell. It literally almost made me gag as we sat there waiting for the server. When she finally came over she recommended the lasagna and a few other items. I gave the lasagna a try. The sauce had absolutely no taste- not even a tomato sauce taste. I never use salt and used all the shakers on the table and it still wasn't good. The cheese was overpowering and too much. I love cheese but I had to scrape it aside just to find some meat. Then consistency of the dish was pretty gross honestly and the noodles overcooked. It was just mush. I could not finish and did not take it with me. The meal included a tiny salad which was fine and some stale looking bread which I did not eat. If that wasnt bad enough, my husbands pizza was so weird. The crust reminded me of a biscuit flattened down. It was dry, heavy and thick. The sauce and toppings were also terrible. I honestly do not know how people can recommend this place or return a second time.

I order from here all the time I ordered tonight and the food was horrible not only did they get my order completely wrong but the food was horrible they have let the quality go down hill so bad they won't get wings with bone in them anymore I got boneless wings and they were horrible I ordered a Philly steak sub and got a hot steak sub with lettuce and tomato not with mushrooms like a Philly steak sub should have it should of had mushrooms onions and cheese I will not be ordering again so sad because they use to be good I don't know what happened

We stopped in for dinner this past Saturday. Initially we were a little worried that it is a small place and wasn't busy at 5:30. The restaurant is really small and would not be good for large parties. The ranch is clearly store bought, even though it said homemade on the menu. The Italian wedding soup was really good. All 3 in my party enjoyed our pasta dishes, although it was typical "Americanized" Italian food. Definitely not authentic but was still good. The take out pizza seemed to be the biggest draw for them. It was packed when we left including the parking lot. Seems like it might be a local hidden gem
