San Marcos Restaurant

In my opinion, San Marcos is the most authentic Mexican Restaurant in the Toledo Area! I lived in SoCal for over 2 decades, so Mexican food was a frequent occurrence.The ambiance is colorful and diverse. Does tend to get loud when crowded.Service is always on point, and the staff is always very personable.Food - as mentioned previously, my fave in the Toledo area!

Just went there for lunch. While the food was fantastic, I ordered the San Marcos burrito, which is on the list of lunch specials at the entrance of the restaurant for $9.96, and they charged me full price ($14.00). I brought this to their attention, and they refused to change the price to what was on the special board. I even got up and showed them the advertised price, prominently displayed on the sign they placed at the entrance of their own restaurant. When I ordered, I asked for the, "San Marco's burrito, the one that's on special."This place does an amazing business. I probably eat at San Marcos at least once every other week. I would always go with a group of 3 or more people, so the total sales from each visit would be $45-$50 dollars plus the tips (another $10.00+++ for the waiter/waitress). No more... they just blew $1,200.00 in annual sales for $5 bucks. Real smart.This is one way great restaurants go out of business. They screwed up and refused to own it. I based my order on their advertised special and they wouldn't honor it. The sign was still on display when I left, so I can't say it was a mistake on their behalf - seems pretty intentional if the problem isn't rectified after it was pointed out.I hope they enjoy that $5 dollars...

Great food and atmosphere, service was very polite and accommodating. Drinks were also large and the mango margarita tasted amazing

We love San Marcos! The restaurant is hidden behind the grocery store. Walk through to find a beautifully painted restaurant ready for you to be seated. The drinks are the coldest in town, and the tacos are the best! There are lunch specials if you make it there before 4! Don't forget to grab your items for the store for your homemade tacos.

Pretty good Mexican food. The store attached is super intriguing and cool to walk around in. Nice atmosphere and outdoor patio is nice on a cool evening.

Once amazing and authentic taco joint; so disappointing now. I was hungry for menudo. It was satisfying but underwhelming. We asked about the Mexican Pizza which was described as a layered dish with crispy fried flour tortillas. What we received was a Mexican Pizza Quesadilla. I took one bite and couldn't eat any more. It was not fried, limp and inedible as a pizza. Although it was huge; the waitress never asked if it was okay even when we said we did not want a box. I miss the old days, the flavors and the quality service.

If you want to feel like a Toledo native, San Marcos Restaurant is the place for you. As you enter, hundreds of authentic Mexican foods surround your sensory transporting you straight to Monterrey (my favorite city in MX). For the fluent in Spanish, get excited to use your skills as that would probably be accepted by the excellent staff who waited on us and spoke clear English well. As pertains food, the San Marcos burrito is "delish", and the margaritas are "decent". A fun combos section is offered on the menu with more options than the heart can fathom, all at a price of 11.99! Not too shabby. Above all else, the enchiladas are tops. The burritos and tacos are less than tops.Thank you.Luke - a 24 yr old man.

The aesthetic and ambiance of this restaurant was great when we came in. Went here with the fam and had a great meal. The service was pretty fast but I feel could be a bit faster.

Service food and ambience were amazing. Absolutely love the artwork on the walls and the whole aesthetic of the restaurant. Highly recommend the chimichanga!

Definitely excelente like always. I first went because of recommendation from a friend who always hits up San Marcos when in Toledo. Me too and I always recommend it! I love getting food at the store that I miss from Mexico. I mean there is a butcher, baker, produce, candies, etc. In the restaurante - The pineapple meal with all sorts of shrimp, meat, flavorful chili and queso with pineapple sweetness was delicious! I couldn't decide between that, the molcajete and tamales, but I definitely wasn't dissappointed! I love they have corn tortillas that are good. I wish they were made by hand, but they are the best I've had in a Mexican restaurante in the US. The waiter was friendly and also made sure to ask a few times if everything was good, it was!! AND it was a nice atmosphere. It actually felt like some restaurants I've been to in Mexico. I half expected someone to say buen provecho when they walked by.There was no room for dessert, but I got horchata in a to go cup and it was like getting agua from a Michoacana
